Hmm... I'm guessing your MC stormed out of the house because of a heated argument, and is overcoming his pride to return to get his gloves because it's the dead of winter.
"He figured that even bringing it up earlier had been troubling for the young man, and thought it might be best for him to come to the Reverend when, if ever, he would be ready to discuss anything, if it proved to be too great a burden to bear alone."
Hm, this guy is thinking about someone who had experienced something horrific or is dealing with something difficult, and regrets saying something about it... and now decides to let this person visit the reverend and get help for his problems on his own time, without help from himself?
Mine is, "It’s alright, I still say ‘the early worm gets eaten’ sometimes, although most of the time it’s intentional."
And no. XD I should've waited until I had an easier line. But that's actually very creative... I wouldn't have thought of that from just that one line. Two of my characters are conversing and character 2 messed up an adage, so character 1 consoles him with the fact that even she messes up adages sometimes, but she's not a morning person, so she says that adage like that anyway.
Someone comes into work early and gets hit by a car?
Alternately, they go to a dance to early and no one's there, so they hang out in the bathroom until more people get there, thn time-traveling bandits come and whip them off to a different time period in a magical phone booth.
LoL good guess it is actually quite serious. Tim is Detective Inspector Timothy Black, and Dan is his sergeant. Joe is Tim's civil partner. Tim has a sore groin area and is limping. He is badly bruised and is in the process of finding out how it happened.
Mara was just asked if she was a boy or a girl >> (wild guess)
“....I'm not doing this because I'm brave Hebi...I'm doing this to clear my own conscious...I am just like every other human...selfish to the core” he said darkly as he pulled his hand away from the boy.
The person talking is about to sacrifice himself for some greater good, and Hebi is opposed to this.
"She did not realise the full gravity of the words until after Ina had stridden out of the storage room, when the sense of touch returned to her sleepy fingers and she noticed, for the first time, what had been left in her hand."
Oh, an engagement ring was left behind! Or a wedding ring! I don't what was left behind but I think Ina just broke up with her.
''Remember Emma and Tom's little girl?'' His father tilts his head in confusion, but as if a switch is flipped he nods. ''That's her,'' James points at me and smiles.
Oh goodness. I'm guessing that your MC has just ingested something intended to kill him and/or is experiencing a horrible transformation that he never wanted to experience. Man I have no idea. XD Whelp
He’d never had any surprises in life and that was why this was exactly what he’d always wanted.
I'm guessing the classic man is an old timer who's very old fashioned... And it's his daughter who's talking about him!
I lay down on my back and glare at my ceiling. My ceiling has been nothing but good to me, keep the rain out of my room, keeps me from getting sunburned, and all of the other normal things that ceilings do.
@ JaneAustenSociety: ooh, that's a really good idea. I might actually use it for something else. :D But actually it's a dialogue about Robert A. Heinlein. One of my characters says she doesn't like his stories at all, and the other one responds, "But he's so classic." I have sci-fi geeks for characters.
Your MC has just taken command of a ship which, on the outside appears to be a bit of a junk-heap but has some serious firepower and/or speed behind it.
"Taffy, beam us up. And do be quick about it old chap, in a bit of a hurry, what?" "Right away Doc. Mission accomplished?" "You could say that."
Something went very wrong in the mission, and they need to get out of there stat!
The littlest kids were kept in the kitchen, and Evi sat with them in case they needed help with their food, while Leaf kept an eye on everyone in the sitting room.
Yirggzmb: It's a zombie apocalypse! Evi and Leaf is travelling across the country, and has stumbled upon a bunch of kids, left behind by the adults, and are now camping out in the abandoned kindergarten.
Not even close, am I? I'm afraid I have an obsession with zombies at the moment (and no, I'm not writing a NaNo about zombies :-)
My latest line: "I look over at Mattheson. “I think that story says a lot about how my father’s people are”. "
Well, your is far more interesting than reality. :P They're babysitting for a woman who has sixteen children, who didn't inform them before hand just how many children there are. They are traveling around though.
Mattheson's father was in a crazy barbarian tribe and rose to be their king. Mattheson just told (person) the story of his father, and he feels bitter about it, because he isn't like his father. How about that?
Mine: He got up, and looked to the north over this craggy land in the sky. He could see the last Guardian fighting up ahead. Daltssssizzle was dead, but this... this was much bigger than some demon. These guys were titans.
Then Sherlock gathered his old plaid hat and pipe from where they had fallen, and wiped the blood from his face.
Despite all the odds against him, Sherlock is going to make one heck of a last stand.
My last line: “What does he mean “I still need guidance?” I’m the one who ends up guarding him half the time! What happened back at Aquarius Temple was a total fluke!” Ivan thought in protest.
Write down the last line you wrote and guess the context of the person's above
Pretty self explanatory, I think.
I thought it seemed like a fun little game.
Be creative :)
Here's mine:
"You said... connection..." Damion said between breaths, finding it difficult to speak. "Just wanted to impress... So much power..."
Re: Write down the last line you wrote and guess the context of the person's above
. So I spent a good hour chasing half- sized predators around the room, swearing and laughing at equal intervals.
Re: Write down the last line you wrote and guess the context of the person's above
I'm guessing that he's speaking to someone with more power than he is, and might be outmatched by the other person?
"I had to turn back now, otherwise I was going to have a long night ahead of me without a proper pair of gloves."
Re: Write down the last line you wrote and guess the context of the person's above
Wow. You're good. That's actually pretty close.

LOl we cross posted my that's difficult.
Hmm he's shown up for work ahead of his boss in order to play a prank on him and gets caught ?
Re: Write down the last line you wrote and guess the context of the person's above
Ahaha, we did, didn't we?

LOL i think the cryptic ones are more fun it's like a short story prompt.

I'm leaning more towards the first one, though.

Dan's roar of laughter gets louder. 'Joe working you hard huh? He always was a hard taskmaster.'//

Re: Write down the last line you wrote and guess the context of the person's above
I honestly can't guess, Hahha. Well i'll try to take a shot..
Tim is servant of some sort and Dan's laughing at maybe his appearance and brethlessness?
"Mara takes a few minutes to think, Not quite sure how to answer."

Someone has entrusted her with a secret that has overwhelmed her and she has still to learn that this means.
“That’s it? I tell you your ex-wife is dying and all you say is ‘oh’?” Eve asked sharply.
Re: Write down the last line you wrote and guess the context of the person's above
Ohkay I missed out on that one
will respond for @JaneAustenSociety instead.
Someone is being reunited with someone from their past they had not expected to see again.
“That’s it? I tell you your ex-wife is dying and all you say is ‘oh’?” Eve asked sharply.
Re: Write down the last line you wrote and guess the context of the person's above
Eve is the ex-wife's sister and upset at ex-husband for not expressing more feeling.
“Yeah,” I said walking toward the door. “And I’m just the freak from the nut house.”
Re: Write down the last line you wrote and guess the context of the person's above
Your MC was just rejected by someone they really like in favor of someone more 'normal'.
He felt absolute bliss for the first time in his entire life before he blacked out.
Re: Write down the last line you wrote and guess the context of the person's above
@ Essie-Decora: I am guessing your MC has always wanted to pass out? Or maybe he saw something joyful before it happened.
Seeing the poison itself leak from the pores of my hands was enough to make me sick to my stomach.

The ceiling is leaving him in a hurricane, and the MC is heartbroken about it.
It was registered to the Sol system under a general remit that suited every need I’d ever had

Sci-fi geeks are ah-maze-ing. (I'm one of these Sci-fi geeks you're talking about). I'm adding you as my buddy. ^_^

She's a Private Investigator and it's a fake company she uses, but good guess - I like it :)

Not exactly wrong, the American spaceman grabs a bag full of bombs and leaps down the reactor shaft with a huge grin on his face.
