Hello everyone! Being an ML has certain perks, including having early access to the forums before board wipe. :) I thought I'd do some ML duties so I can make this regional lounge more welcoming to you guys. I mean, it's going to be a long, crazy November, so it's better to be comfortable, right? :) So Hello! I'm Tina, aka tinamats, one of your friendly Municipal Liaisons. I'm based in Manila and I work in one of the multinational companies based in Eastwood. :D I've been doing NaNoWriMo for...6 years (gasp!) now, and this is my 7th year. I've won 5 times, and even if my plot is crap I still plan to win. Hopefully this year will be nicer, yes? Anyway, whether you're new or old, leave a note here to say hi! :) I probably won't remember everyone's names but I will try my best! =)

The challenge, once again, is to top what we've done last year. Sometimes, we do and sometimes, we don't. No matter what the outcome, we've got each other's backs. To the newbies, you have signed up for an exciting 30 days of your lives. We will be met with highs and lows and dead-even plateaus, but remember, this is not about who gets bragging rights once s/he hits the 50,000 mark. We're like the Marines: Leave no man behind. Last year, I had 32 cups of coffee (I mention this because I don't drink coffee routinely), 8 of which I drank in a day. Here I thought I was the only Filipino joining for this NaNo writing event XD Hello guys! My name's Von. I just discovered this NaNoWriMo thing when I was checking up Freshly pressed blogs in wordpress. That was just 2 days ago, I think. What drives me to join up is simply to test my limitation and to see how will I deal with it to break it down, since I'm not really a certified writer or something. But I love expressing myself (though it's mostly gibberish) and I think this is the best way to get some sort of a writing momentum, if there really is such a thing. Halloa! Anton here, also Flatlander or Flatterland or variants of Flatland and all that. Was pulled into joining in 2008 - crashed and burned at 8k. Skipped 2009 for personal reasons. Joined again in 2010 and went to most of the write-ins and events and all but got a grand total of 100 words. I'm absolutely winning this year, though, with a plot that's chock full of wordcount extenders and filler material! Hope to see all of you at the kickoff or the write-ins :)

I'm Jofer, I'm from Aklan but I'm currently residing in Manila, I've been a WriMo for three years now but I've won this thing only once, just last year, with a novel that reached the 50k mark but was just half of the entire story... Hello! I'm halfwitwonder though since that's too long and ridiculous a name to call someone, halfy would suffice. This is going to be my third attempt at NaNo. My first two haven't gone too well though I'm pretty optimistic about this year's attempt! Hopefully, I don't burn out by the second week aaaaaa I don't normally write, quite honestly. I mean, I do and I love writing but it's not constant a practice for me. I usually scrape up a few lucky poems and short stories on rare, better days. My first two attempts for NaNo have both been for the adventure/fantasy genre and I plan to write for it once more. I'm back and reporting for duty, Commander Shepard. Er, Tina. (howwasmadrid?!) I made this nano...in 2008? xD God. I really wanted to make a new account but was too lazy, so here I am, although I prefer to be called Denise or Auggy {if you can pronounce Augmentine please tell me so I can tell everyone I know that it is, in fact a real word}. And uh. What else. I'm no longer a teenager, but I'm a freshman taking up Eng Lit. I like anime, but haven't watched anything new for awhile (I am the worst fan ever) and I'm eagerly awaiting Mass Effect 3~ Oh, and big fan of Batman--particularly Arkham Asylum and Tim Drake. My iTouch got stolen from me on a commute so I won't be able to participate using just my iPod, so it'll be notebooks and looots of doodling. Used to be in Makati, now I'm in Quezon City and determined to actually *use* some of my stock characters/word/dialogue pools I've been building for awhile! Won in 2010 thanks to this group's plot suggestions at the meetup, best thing that ever happened to me. 2011 is going to rock, if I can find a feasible plot (not held together by three pieces of string and gum) revolving around a character that has 'headmates', a girl that has the power to break relationships by just being there and two skull headpieces that just won't shut up. Or y'know, I could've just written and drawn random words and pictures and decided it was a good idea, I can never tell anymore. I have the worst memory, so feel free to smack me (but not too hard) if we've met before!~

Hi everyone! Been making a few posts but haven't properly introduced myself in this thread, haha, sorry. Hajimemashite! Please call me Zizi. I am among the employed circle until summer this year when I decided to resign and become a full time Japanese language student. I'm currently studying in Ortigas, three days a week. This is my first time to try Nano, it was suggested to me by my good friend Anne (DeSanggria *waves*). Because I have plenty of free time as I'm a student now, I began reading my sister's old novels (mostly by Sandra Brown, Jude Deveraux, Sidney Sheldon) and later became inspired to make my own novel. The novel I plan to do for November is set in contemporary time but as I'm quickly becoming a big fan of historical romances, I intend my second one to be on that genre. I hope to have a good time sharing writing joys and perils with all of you here. *bows*

It was an adrenaline, suspense-filled final hour when you have like a couple thousand more to write and you begin to ask yourself if you would make it or not. Hello writers! This is my first time joining Nanowrimo, yet I began writing at most eight years ago. Reaching that 50,000-word mark requires tons of discipline and immense focus. Cheers to us! Any writers here near Mandaluyong area? :D

Nikki. I didn't reach the 50k mark last year because of thesis and boyfriend distractions so I'm more determined now and I'm pulling him to join too so he won't disturb me. :) Going to write Romance, as usual.

Oh, dear Lord, Sidney Sheldon and Sandra Brown! Those were the two authors I browsed as "research" for my novel. (Parts of my plot line are... ahem... "borrowed" from Sheldon, especially "Rage of Angels" and "Morning Noon and Night.") I'm tempted to make my novel a less-cheesy version of theirs. Also, my favorite Deveraux novels are the two Summerhouse books. Which historicals have you been reading, by the by?

Hi guys, I'm new here and I'm Kwesi! *wave to Tina* I'm new here and I'm not sure if I will win this NaNoWriMo competition or challenge and I never done writing before. Yeah, I know, I always exclude writing since then but I love reading. With the help of you guys and to Tina (special mentioned again) and to Rollie (you can call him Rolly Molly anytime, he'll register soon or he is already registered) who inspired me to do this but for now, I'll concentrate with Tagalog novel. For one reason, I'm not ready to do the challenge in English. Hey, I'm still studying and I need Mr. Time Management next month. I wish it will work.

Right now, I'm liking Julie Garwood's works (Scots, plaid things and Englishmen/women, yeah!), and recently I'm reading the Westmoreland Series of Judith McNaught. For Jude Deveraux, I'm reading the Montgomery Family Tree (thanks to DeSangrria's advice!).

I was invited by Rollie to join NaNoWriMo this year and I'm glad Will is joining the fun. Yipee! If I can still remember some TFGs promised me to join the fun this year, unfortunately some died unexpectedly online. Haha. I have a question, can I write novels in Tagalog or Taglish? Lastly, how can I order the NaNoWriMo goodies!?

Yes, you can write in whatever language you prefer. :) As for ordering NaNoWriMo goodies, we can do a group ship again this year. Last year I had them sent through Johnny Air, medyo natagalan lang. Haha but if you want to, we can find a way to arrange that. :D

I just started posting even before introducing myself. Sorry for the rudeness. >w< Ano...eto...I'm Allaynia on NaNoWriMo but you can call me Nikki or Nix or Mon or Mon-Mon in real life...well, given that we ever meet. Hehe. XD I've tried to participate with NaNoWriMo before (actually, twice before...) but then again, school kept me too busy to ever make a decent start or finish. orz Since I'm more free since graduating, I can focus a bit more on writing and I'm trying actually doing this with a community of sorts. :3 For this one, I'm doing a revamp of an attempted story. It's something of a science fiction (set in the future with better technology) and fantasy (as it has hint of magic and supernatural influences, since it's in a fictional world). Romance and psychological stuff are tossed in as I please. :3 Nice to meet you all~ ^_^

Hiya everyone! Phelanw0lf / Phil here, tabletop gaming junkie, and fan of most things SF & Fantasy. This is the first time I've actually managed to make it to the starting line of NaNoWriMo, as in previous years, I'd always learned/remembered about the event midway through November. Besides writing up "fluff" pieces for wargames and improvising adventure plots for RPG sessions, I haven't done any serious writing since college. I seem to be a fan of "breaking" my characters when writing military SF & cyberpunk, so maybe I'll try something lighter and zanier this time around. Swords will clash, bullets will fly, worlds will burn, and there might even be a...*gasp* happy ending? Gods know, I've never written a satisfying happy end. :p

Let's see... for the past few years I've been trying (and failing) to complete my NaNoWriMo story. This year is my first year of work, which means that I'm extra busy now. I also have overtime later this month... so yeah, it seems that this will be my year! Seriously, despite all the work I have, I'm aiming for success this time.
