School: the greatest obstacle

I'm not talking about college. I'm talking about high school. For some reason, second semester in my school decides to be harder and more jam-packed than the last two quarters. At the time of writing, I'm behind by 4k~ words; I could make up for that in a few hours. I'm stuck at school with paper and pencil, which isn't nearly as fast as a keyboard. :|

For all of you who are still in high school (or have a tight schedule), I wanna know how you keep up with the word count. inb4weekends

In other news, NOVEMBER 15! 15 more days till the end of NaNoWriMo!

I've been guilty of stealing time to write at a net cafe or comp labs.

That or I write in lull hours, like when everyone else is just waiting for exam papers to be given back, etc.

We have a program that needs to be delivered and deployed by January 2012.

I am so behind my word count it's not even funny. My head is hurting after work going through the application, testing out each feature for bugs, documenting, reporting, getting it fixed, etc....

Re: School: the greatest obstacle

Ugh, same here. My school's celebrating "Math & Computer Week" next week and I'm in charge of the preparations because I'm the Computer club president :/ NaNoWriMo's making me wish I hadn't been elected XD
I'm way way way behind. I just started writing four days ago and I wish that it's weekend everyday so I can lock up in my room and just write, write, write.
Anyway, my tip for you is... write continuously when you have the time. It doesn't matter if you make mistakes; you can edit them later. What matters is that you write your ideas down. Also, plot when you're in school and you have nothing better to do (I find it hard to write in pen & paper with my classmates around so all I do is plot XD).
Sadly, that's all I can say. Good luck, I know we can do it \m/ XD

Haha! Fellow High School students!
Lol, anyways.
What I do is I right whenever possible. In the middle of class, I write on my notebook. During recess or lunch, I write on my notebook. When I take a pee, I think about my novel, go back to my class room and write on my notebook.
Though, I don't write what I plan to type up. I write the general concept of what a certain paragraph will contain. Then, when I get home, I type up everything I've written down in my notebooks, milking the ideas I gained for the day dry.
Oh, also, I wake up as early as possible so I can try to get out maybe 100 words before I get to school.

Then again, I'm a bit behind my word count and very much a delinquent so try to pay attention in class.

Lol, getting caught in the act is the worst. Especially pag-pinagbawalan ka. It's goodbye to writing and hello misery XD
And speaking of test, I assume you're quarterly?

Let your characters discuss something about their educational background, I think? School is usually one big hindrance but, in essence, it is not always like this. The events that may happen in school can be abstract things that may inspire your novel.

If you want, you can let one of your characters rant about school.

Well guys, with exams, projects, investigatory projects, school based activities and term papers blocking out the light of day, it seems like a daunting task to even think of finishing our novels.

But thank God for Andres Bonifacio. For there are no classes on Nov. 30.

Tell me about it. Hindi nakuntento yung mga teacher namin. We were given around six projects for the month of November. I mean, pwede naman sa December. When I thought it couldn't get any worse, I get into some friendship troubles and it's bothering me a lot. It's hard to write when you're thinking about a lot. :(
