My finest hour

Or day. Whatever. If you would take a look to the left, you would see me with zero words. To be honest, there's around 10-20k words left before my story reaches the goal, but it's way more dramatic this way.

So far, this was my most active NaNo attempt. Hell, I even got to interact with some of ya. I just got off from work, and thankfully I don't have work later tonight. I've reached the edge of the world, and the only choice left is for me to jump. And fly. Time to write. I'll cancel my appointment with sleep and just plain write. I'll throw in everything, including the kitchen sink. I'll roll everything into one giant Katamari ball and make a coherent round shape called a story.

I do love being dramatic at times. Well, it's 50k or bust for me. That's why I went back to 0. I'll finish this story, or delete it. It excites something in me, to tell you guys the truth.

Hell, I'll keep trudging on until the end of Nov 30. It's not over until the whole world hits December the 1st. Wish me luck.

Ugh. I think... I need a little sleep. My head is hurting and my body is overheating.

Okay, glory or not, don't push it when the brain says 'stop'. D: Applause for the make or break approach though (I prefer the incremental way though -- for someone like me who lacks discipline, I need to see progress) XD

Anyways, good luck on the final stretch!

Perhaps, perhaps. At the moment I'm fine with plain jello, or Sarsi.

One hour and thirty minutes to go before NaNo here ends. However, it won't be end until the whole world reaches December 1, so I still have around 12-14 hours or so before NaNo truly ends.

As for the story... hm, well, to be honest it has gone into a pretty surreal turn. I went with an alternate plan for the story... which would be a polite way of saying that I'm just throwing in all the ideas I had for it. No testing and no time to edit.

Still... no matter what happens I have no idea how long my story would be. Due to my typing skills I had to give up on Word and go with the pen-and-notebook approach for the last day today. My hand freaking hurts - reminds me of the time when I had to go and write the quick brown fox jumped over the head of the lazy dog, over and over again to fix my penmanship (note: nothing was fixed).

I filled a few notebooks. Dunno if it's worth 20k, 50k, or 100k words. I probably can't upload it. I'll just keep writing some more though. Upload or not, I'm shocked that I burned through a couple of notebooks.

It's the best attempt I've had for NaNo so far... which is sad since there was no time to computerize it. Frankly, a large chunk of those notebooks are scenes that need a lot of cut and edit. I skipped and summarized scenes... for example, one paragraph has this written down: "Short fight scene in the bar. HL (character's initials) is the guy in the bar who somehow got the ketchup bottle in the bar brawl, in a bar full of beer and liquor bottles. Write whole scene later." and then moving on to another scene.

It's shoddy, sloppy, and shabby. It goes against the writing pace that I like. I'm not too happy about it, though there were some moments that I was proud of. Character gets more or less drunk so that he would survive (long story) and in some drinking of a very powerful brew he hallucinates. Lots of crazy things going on, such as the walls changing color and singing to him, conversations with a very dead mirror image of him, and another conversation with death - which does happen for real. The image I had in my mind was in tune with my writing, all in one go. I loved that moment.

In the end, this was like getting out of one bad sickness. There was a lot of down moments today... lots of I suck at this moments when I got stuck. Heh, despite that my own optimism won out in the end and I continued with the story. The high points were superior against the lows.

There's no way to upload it. With all the aches of handwriting a part of me wants to say that I reached 50k thanks to the notebooks. I will never know. I gave a quick read at times, and I honestly don't want to type it down in the computer.

I have around 12 hours to write it, before NaNo ends on the other side of the world. I don't want to, one reason being that it's too troublesome, and two being me feeling kinda afraid that despite everything I was not able to go the distance for the last day. It's one of those things... the notebooks have the look and weight of something around 40-50k. Not in words, maybe, but ideas.

Heh, it sucks, but I guess it really is somewhere between 50k or bust. It was a memorable experience when everything is said and done. I'll re-read it again, setting the foundations of the rewrite-edit.
