I did it.

I spat in the face of writer's block. I waved goodbye to word count as I left it in the dust. I scorned the siren-call of sleep and a social life. I panicked, I flailed, I wept and gnashed my teeth

I am now a pale, eyebaggy monster breathing exclusively caffeine fumes and cigarette smoke.

But that doesn't matter, because I WON MY FIRST NANOWRIMO!

I never could have done it without this board. Even if I didn't comment that much (I was too busy crying in despair and trying to desperately meet every daily word quota), your posts all helped me a lot and made me feel so not alone.

A big thank you as well to the writing buddies I exchanged many silly/insightful/random/wtf-are-we-talking-about-now messages with! And the wonderful people on Twitter! And the creators of NaNoWriMo! And the gift of words! And the lovely inspirational pep talks of our moderators!

So to everybody who's still not finished, IF I CAN DO IT, YOU CAN, TOO :D

And to everybody who's already met 50k, join me in my imaginary celebration dance!

And to all of us--- finished or not--- CONGRATULATIONS! It was a great month. I'm so happy I shared it with you guys!

Oh, and I almost forgot! If anyone's interested in reading the sappy ramblings of a diseased mind--- ahem, I mean, if anyone's interested in reading my story, I have posted it online! It's completely unedited and, okay, so maybe it mostly sucks, but I am just ecstatic to have finally finished something for once in my life... which rather says more about me than I myself care to know -_-

Congratulations! Feels great, doesn't it? :)

One of the things I love about NaNo is that it forces you to write, even if the stuff you produce doesn't make sense in the plot. More than just the word count, the main take away for this insanity is discipline. That's why I think even those who did not make it to 50k are still winners. It's very hard to combat procrastination after all.

Wow, I wish I finished my first NaNo with a win, too. :D
