Hi guys! I'm new at this. I joined Nano last year and lost. I won this year though. :)
Now the thing is...I don't know how this winning thing works. I know that I'll get 5 free copies of my novel from Create Space but I'll shoulder the shipping fee. What I don't know is how I'll get the 5 copies. What do I have to do? I read from some post that there will be a code. Where will it be?

Sorry. There are the musings of a semi-newbie.

Thank you!

A page called "I Wrote a Novel, Now What?" will come up sometime this weekend. :-) Instructions on how to get those proof copies will be posted there. :)

Was the page posted this last weekend? If so...how does one find the, "I wrote a novel, now what?" page? Thanks!

I can't find it either... I can only find the Winner's Prizes page... which, doesn't at all look to be the same thing :]

Here is where you can find the codes for the CreateSpace and Scrivener offers; for some reason, they didn't call it the "I Wrote a Novel, Now What?" page.

The five copies you're getting for free aren't "proof copies"; they're copies of the final book you will be approving after the proof review process.

After you upload the exterior cover of your novel and your manuscript, and after they've been approved by CreateSpace, you'll have to order a proof copy on your own first. You'll be paying for the proof copy as well as shipping. Once you've received your proof copy, you can proceed to the next step online, which is to "publish" your book. CreateSpace does grant you the option to publish "privately," though. That's when you type in the code for the 5 free copies of your novel on the site.

At least, that's what I gather from the CreateSpace offer thread.

So, let's say I wanted to get my five proof copies. First, I'd have to order a proof copy of my book. Let's also say it's a really short book of about 220 pages. That's $5.98. Shipping fee: $7.98. After I review and approve the proof, I get my 5 free copies, and I have them shipped to the Philippines at $19.94.

That's $33.9 or P1525.5 (at P45/1$).

Click here for shipping and book price calculator (click "Buying Copies" tab).

EDIT: Not "my five proof copies" in paragraph 4, "five free copies."

Hi Judd! Thanks for the info! :) I think I'm willing to pay 1525 or more just to see my five copies. And I think it's better that they aren't proof copies but final, edited copies. That makes the sum more worth it.

I'm excited about the 'exterior cover of my novel.' Ive always had ideas on how the cover will look like.
I think I'll publish privately though.

Thank you again!
