What is the purpose of writing buddies? We have e-mail, and we have forums. Is there another function besides the sentiment that someone admits to being your friend (lol)? Don't get me wrong: I'm not trying to be anti-social or over-analytical. I'm all for having buddies, and being one. I'm just not sure that I'm grasping the concept, that's all. I don't use email during November, so a list of buddies makes sending nanomail faster. I also find them easier to check in with friends from previous years to see if they are participating again, connect with writing friends who might not be from your region or are not very active on the forums or maybe just to show the rest of nanoland you really do have friends?
