Well Blistered Fingers as long as you and Ragamuffin Ink have your power back on, that's okay. I am a Lockeporter myself...currently living in exile in Sandy Point and occasionally visit the island myself. Pat you have many words, don't have to write the whole novel tonight j/k
I'm a South Shorian! From Liverpool. I have some friends in the area who are interested, but I don't know if any of them actually have NaNoWriMo accounts or anything -- they're "unofficial" NaNo-ers, I guess.
Hey Ley and Running Water - I am in East Port Medway, between Liverpool and Bridgewater. How about we plan a coffee hour (or something) at a mutually convenient spot. As this is my 5th Nano I suppose I'm a bit of a vet - but it might be good to get together - Cape Sablers and Lockeporters also welcome!
One good spot could be Lanes in Liverpool in the bookshop/cafe. Just let me know and I'll set something up.
Looking forward to it. Maybe we could also look at doing something in Bridgewater, L'burg or Mahone Bay for those to the east of B'water (I think there's someone from Mahone Bay on the boards). Hope everyone's project is going well in the early stages :)
Hi everyone! I'm in Chester. Work's kept me pretty busy the last few days, so I'm a bit slow to the board. I did want to mention that I work for Bryler Publications and we're planning on hosting a write-in on the last weekend. We're inviting our literary program students to attend as well, so there might be a surplus of teenagers and not a ton of space, but you're welcome to join in! I'll let you know as soon as I have more details.
I am in Lunenburg, and Bridgewater during the day at work, and in HRM on most weekends. I am new to the South Shore so just getting to know folks. Would love to connect with others as this is my first time to do this officially. I don't expect to make 50,000 words but am really exciting about connecting, fun, and getting writing.
Welcome to the South Shore - relatively new here, too (last 2 years), originally from The Prairies. Hopefully we can all connect over the month - always great to meet new people!
Just lost my original message - thanks, computer. I'll try again. Pleasantville - 10 minutes down the west side of the LaHave from Bridgewater. Would love to connect (I see you're a dog person and your "meet for food and wine"...well, hello :) Are you available on weekends or do you go to Halifax? Saturday's iffy, would have to be afternoon. Evenings, I could make it work. Definitely available on Sundays - perhaps at the library. Being relatively new, not sure where else we could meet publically. Do you work days, I think I remember reading that? Maybe if we set something up, others would join us. Others?
Re-reading this, I see I'm not very definitive. It's late, my excuse.
Hi Janet - t'would indeed be great to arrange some kind of get-together - I am suggesting Lanes in Liverpool to a couple of other folks - I am flexible for dates/times - Sunday 20th sounds great (can't make 27th thought - that's me buffdee) I might just have to pick something and announce it - let me know what works for you, Sue
Hellooo! I'm in Liverpool too... this is my second Nano... would love to get together somewhere, sometime! Can we bring laptops, and dazzle the watching public with our frenetic feats of wordly magic? I love doing that. :)
Hi Libby! Hooray for Liverpool! Also, if you have a daughter named Hannah, I know who you are. My mother's name is Dale and my stepfather's name is Blaine, if that helps you out.
ok - Ley and Libby - at least we could do something in Lanes and invite any one else who cares to join in - just let me know and I'll get doggy daycare for the new pup!
If anyone is having a meet up/write in/get together in the areas around the South Shore I'd LOVE to meet and attend. Am alone being new to the area, living in Lunenburg since the 1st of November. I'd also be happy to host something at my place for a a few folks with food and wine and such.
You guys are still free to meet! I don't want to impede things simply because I'm working, especially since I'd get to meet everyone, I just wouldn't get to hang out.
ok - thanks so much Ley - if anyone is interested in doing this from say 2.30 or 3ish for about an hour or so - in the bookstore at Lanes in Liverpool tomorrow (Sunday 20th November) - PLEASE LET ME KNOW
cheers and keep up the great word count - I AM impressed! Sue
I didn't see any responses, but just in case anyone had kept our planned write-in at Bryler in mind, I won't be able to host it as I woke up with the flu. Glad to see so many of you guys are doing so well!
Hey there folks, you are all happily heading towards the purple line. It's a pity we didn't manage a meet up. If anyone fancies a post nano get-together, just let me know. Could be a lark! Sue
Congrats, Soozi, on the Win :) It's very sad that we didn't manage to do a write-in (this time), but I'm game for an after party celebration (or pity party for those that didn't get there). I'm also very interested in either joining or starting a writing group here on the South Shore. If anyone's interested, let me know. Congrats to all the other 'winners', as well!
Yay - Janet - let's start a writing group! I used to belong to WriteOn here on the south shore until it folded in September 2010. We were together for 7 years. I'll give a bit of thought as to who might be interested, suggest we keep it to a small number (say 7 or 8). what do you think.
Re a get-together - if you'd like to pick a day and time and let's see if we get something going. The entire time I was writing this month I battled bronchitis, so it was a perfect excuse to hunker down in pyjamas and scribble.
So bronchitisless, you did brilliantly at 26,000 words I reckon - hope you had fun.
South Shore Wrimos
Hi fellow scribblers - is there anyone on the south shore giving it a go this year? This is my 5th and it has been pretty lonely over the years.
Re: South Shore Wrimos
My wife, Ragamuffin Ink, and I are on Cape Sable Island, and are feeling a little isolated over it. But we'll be OK!

Hello from Pleasantville - just outside Bridgewater :)

Soozi I know your area well. My Mother is from Broad Cove and her mother was from Voglers Cove.
Re: South Shore Wrimos
That could be fun! I actually work at Lane's, so I could also set something up. :)

Re: South Shore Wrimos
Well, I'm not really from the south shore....or the north shore. I'm stuck in the middle in Yarmouth. It's pretty lonely down here all by myself.

Hi Running,
wondering where you are in the area? Being a newbie too we might connect!

OK! Who fancies this coming Sunday in Lanes in Liverpool? If not, I'm open to suggestions. Sue
Re: South Shore Wrimos
Could work, Soozi - those from the Bridgewater/Lunenburg/Mahone Bay/Chester area could always carpool.
Janet
Re: South Shore Wrimos
I'm working Sunday from 3pm until close. So I suppose I'd be there by default, but mostly in spirit.
Re: South Shore Wrimos
oh dear - do you have any other suggestions?

Re: South Shore Wrimos
K - I didn't know there was a planned write-in - this is the first I'd heard - take care of your flu - I have bronchitis so am laying low too. - S
Re: South Shore Wrimos
ok - mission accomplished - I'm dead chuffed - fifth time too! But I still haven't go my halo and donated at the beginning of the month.
