Our first NaNo Event is here! We'll have a Kickoff/Meetup/Write-in on THURSDAY, NOV 3rd, from 7-9pm, in the new Library building at 309 Commerical Street in North Sydney.
Need a map to get there? Here it is: http://g.co/maps/yhqpp
We'll chat for the first hour and write for the second. Come join us!
I'm going to try to be there. It'll be a 1.5 hour drive with construction, but who knows how many others I'll make it to? and I'm already behind, so I need the encouragement. :)
If you ever come to New Waterford, i'll see if i can visit you guys. i don't have a car and don't know if you'll be here next Friday either, but if we're ever lucky, i'll stop by and say hello.
Hello all! Sorry for no events this weekend; I will be out of town. However, I'll still be keeping up my wordcount, and so should you! :) I'll be in touch about our first live chat event when I get back next week.
Kat, you are a mind-reader. LOL I just came in to post this:
Hello all!
I know, it's been quiet around here this week--I was in catch-up mode after the convention. :)
BUT
let's get together at the Bean Bank again tomorrow and share some coffee, congratulations, or commiserations, as the case may be.
Bean Bank Cafe, Charlotte Street, Sydney, 1:30
Then Monday night, 8 p.m., let's do an online chat/write-in. The chat room is here:
http://www.sherrydramsey.com/?page_id=4
Just scroll to the bottom(ish) of the page until you see a button bearing a cup of coffee. Give it a click, and follow the instructions (you don't have to enter anything for a profile if you don't wish to). It's a java-run chat applet, so there's nothing to download or install. The chat window opens separately, so you may have to allow pop-ups for the site. Come by and chat, and we'll have some word wars if anyone is up for it. You can test this setup on your computer anytime (although there'll probably be no-one else in the room).
Hope your novels are going well and that we'll see you at one of these events!
I was out of town for a conference when you last met, but just wanted to touchbase with everyone and say hi. I hit a roadblock in my story, but have it figured out now. It would be really nice if life could slow down for November.... but it hasn't. Anyway, I won't be "winning" this year but I am keeping up with the idea and hope to finish this year.
Hey, I know, the "rest of your life" never seems to step back and get out of your way during November. In fact, sometimes it seems to get worse than ever!
Glad you hear you are going to keep going with it! I will get to 50k I think, but not to "The End" so I hope to keep writing into December, too. I say that every year, but this year I might actually do it. :)
And my apologies to everyone, between the snow day and the kids having a long weekend due to parent-teacher stuff, I wasn't even thinking that today was Sunday and we should be getting together at the Bean Bank! But we will be having at least one more event, and everyone will be welcome whether they "win" or not, so stay tuned!

Re: Cape Breton News & Events
Sadly I cannot come, as I will be working. Actually, I'll be running a YWP workshop right then, so it's almost the same, right :(
Re: Cape Breton News & Events
Oh, we'll miss you! And I was all, "Thursday night, Kat will be able to make it!" But good luck with your kiddies!

Yes! I just came in to post this. I didn't think I would be able to make it tomorrow, but now I can. So:
Next meetup:
Sunday, Nov 6 at 1:30
The Bean Bank Cafe, Charlotte Street, Sydney
Come and tell us how your novel is progressing, or gripe over coffee to folks who understand your pain. ;)

Hooray! I love the bean bank, and it's in town so I can come to this one!
I'll be attending, along with a curious roommate and friend if that's okay?
Re: Cape Breton News & Events
Absolutely! The more the merrier. :)
Re: Cape Breton News & Events
I'll be there.
