If the only thing keeping you away is a transportation issue, that means you *would* put in the time writing if you could get there. So, put in the time at home or a coffee shop or your library....your favorite writing spot. Block off the time just as if you were attending, and write like crazy in that time block. :) It may not be as much *fun* as going to the write-in, but you can bump up your word count considerably anyway. I feel confident that I can catch up....tonight I found myself doing a couple of the twitter word sprints and found that they could be added to my story quite nicely so that was interesting to test out.
