Workshop

Hi everyone!

I've been contacted by our former ML, Glenn Strathey, and he is offering us a workshop based on his excellent website www.howtowriteabook.com.

I can book a room at the Queen's Library to have it in.

Since it probably should be held sooner rather than later, let's decide on a date and time. If we want to hold it on the weekend, I won't be here but I can still make the booking :)

Friday? Saturday? Sunday? Say in the evening some time? (I believe Stauffer Library closes at 8:45, so it probably shouldn't start any later than 7)

Not a weekend for me! :( Weekday evening would be good.. and must it be at Queen's? No offense but that campus is freaking intimidating to an outsider, lol.

I'm not familiar with the Queen's layout at all, so this would pose a bit of a problem for me as well.

Well...I'm not really sure of anywhere else to have it (unless its KPL, but I may have a problem with booking the room so late, but I can try)

How about Friday night? Does that work for most/any people? We should really get this going, to ensure we get a room :)

Re: Workshop

Thanks MadHacktress, I'm glad you like the website.

Just to be clear, it is indeed www.how-to-write-a-book-now.com

I made the offer of a workshop because I've found over the years that I get the best results out of nano if I work with an outline. I'm a plotter rather than a pantser, and I hate being stuck because I don't know where the story should go.

I'm also a student/fan of story structure, and on the website, I try to turn theory into easy-to-use practical steps that can help writers - not bog them down with concepts.

So my goal is just to be useful, if I can. If people would like to get together and talk about stories, great. If you want a more formal workshop on dramatic structure or the main character's inner journey, also great. If scheduling doesn't work out, you can always ask a question on my website (when I can give an answer I think is helpful, I do). If people aren't interested, that's also cool.

I want to go... but Friday night's no good for me. I've got the boyfriend visiting. Haven't seen him in a month so neglecting him for NaNo = not cool. :P

How about Monday night, does that work for people?

And if not at Queen's, where?
