He said he'd like to do that when he grows up, so I explained that there's the Young Writers' Program and that I could sign him up for that if he wanted to try, and we'd check to see what kind of word count goal they suggested for his grade. So, I now have a junior Wrimo in-house! Did I mention he's 4, and in junior kindergarten? We've set a word goal of 200 for him, and he typed out the first 32 words tonight (with numerous spelling consults from me), so he's waaaay ahead of me, percentage-wise. So far his story is about a horse and a snowman going to the ice cream store; when we left off, a big giant monster had just arrived. I have *no* idea where that's going, but the same could be said about my novel at this point... I remember how much I loved writing when I was that age, and then as I got older, I stopped completely, and didn't really remember how much I loved writing until NaNo got me started again in high school.
