I noticed that a few university/college WriMos formed their own little sub-forms, so I decided to make one for us ambitious high schoolers! So, I guess introduce yourself, and we'll have some fun! Word wars, complaining about homework, writing sessions, you get the picture. To break the ice: Hi, I'm Kate, I'm in grade 11 at an arts school downtown, and this will be my third year of NaNo! I think my novel will be about a traveling circus in a post-apocalyptic Canada (inspired by a Nuit Blanche exhibit), but we're not even half way to November, so you know... Okay, now you say something. :D

Your novel sounds absolutely amazing so I think I need to bug you to finish it so that I can read it. I LOVE circuses, especially creepy ones. As for me, I don't like talking about my novel before I've finished it :D

I'm ready to do Nano, whilst applying to Universities (I want to get my undergrad in Creative Writing and my Masters in Librarian Studies), so November will be filled with chaos. Yay!

Though I am a bit out of the region, I still attend some events and I hang around the chat a lot. I'm Negasi, and this will be my third time through NaNo as well! (Also my third time trying to finish grade 12, but that's a totally different story.) I go to a highschool in Oshawa :). Oooh my novel is going to be your typical medieval fantasy with lots of sword fights and magic and all that good stuff! :D

I think I might have said hi to you on the other form as well...well, another "hi" never hurt anyone (unless we're talking about drugs, then I think it's up in the air...too many puns, sorry). :D You know what you get when you combine weird and nerdiness? Werdines, which sounds like "wordiness", which is excellent for NaNo! I wish you luck with your third win! It was in the Distillery District and it was a circus that was making a stop "in the ruins of Toronto". They had games, acts, and "artifacts" from the former civilization such as soaps, tea kettles, and baby toys. It was cool. :D

I'm crazy busy during November (gah, scholarships are a pain to apply for - just a warning to all you youngsters!) so I'm not sure how well this year is going to go. Hi! I'm Lithy, and I'm in grade eleven even though I should've graduated in June. Whatever. This will be my seventh Nanowrimo and my sixth win. I'mma kick serious butt. I go to alternative school downtown and it's AWESOME. One or two of you may or may not have heard of some crazy girl named Skittlez who likes to hit people. That, coincidentally, would be me. I don't hit Nanoers if I can help it. Anymore. Ahem. I'm writing a fantasy story which I have all detailed out and which involves a girl being sort of forced to reclaim her throne :P Originally I imagined her as wanting the throne, but I've realized she probably just wants to be left the eff alone. I would too in her shoes. Heh. I can't wait to start :D Are you guys excited?

I'm pretty sure I convinced some kid to do Nanowrimo yesterday at this writing conference... and I convinced two girls who have done Nano but never been to an event to come to an event. :D I'm like Nanowrimo's pimp. I swear. Every time I go anywhere other than school (I go to alternative school, half those people can barely read lol) I end up trying to convince at least one person to participate.

Hi! Hmm, I think I will start off with explaining my username.... It's moogle99, obviously. 99 is my favourite number (don't ask me why! :D) and moogle is google for cows. I made that up in grade seven... two years ago! I'm in grade nine--what's that? Four grade niners now? Well... I don't have much else to say. Ha! Who am I kidding, I always have something to say (it's true, today I talked my friend's ear off for about twenty minutes straight... about the subtle differences between periwinkle, indigo, and cornflower blue). This will be my first Nano, and I'm hoping to reach (at least) 25 000 words. 'Kay, I'm done! :D

for everyone who says they need a friend to go with jsut say me, im in grade 12 very "responsible"..... well most of the time, and there are adults who will keeps out for you and other teenagers and such, like me! so everyone shoudl come, and brampton is west of toronto, about a 30 min drive is you dont have traffic, if not then longer

My name's Anika, but I always find it odd to be referred to as such in text, so feel free to come up with some embarrassing nickname or call me by my username~ My book is... Weird..? I have no clue. It's about the very twisted mind of a rich, dead man named Marcus and how a woman named Mary found herself trapped in it, along with great many ofther dead people. Hi, I am Joanna, and I am currently in my sophomore year of high school in Markham. This may be/ is my second year of doing NaNo (Winner last year!); I am still on the fence about whether or not I should participate this year, though. I caved in and fast-tracked to a higher grade course this year, which means I've got a crazy academic schedule already on top of my extracurricular activities. But who knows? If my week-long planning sessions go well next week and I just can't resist the urge to write, I'll (recklessly) jump aboard. :)

HI! I'm Becca, in grade 11 and this is my 3rd WriMo, and hopefully NOT my 3rd consecutive lose. Ah life how you continue to get in the way of my writing dreams :'( I'm not /technically/ in Toronto, but really, there is not Mississauga so this is about as close as I can get XD My story this year is going to be a sereis of short stories that all connect to thi central figure and how he affects what happens to these people. Or maybe it will be a thing not a guy....I havent really gotten organised yet :S

...Oh, but even though Lawrence West is closest to me, I... hmm. I need to decide on my route. I usually take the 7 bus to either St. Clair West Station or Bathurst Station, but I guess I'm likely to be stuck in rush hour, so I'll.. still just get on the subway at St. Clair West. That would be better for meeting purposes.

hey !!! im ryan, in grade 11 in a town not so far from toronto. ive done nano twice (once last year, and once in the summer) and i have failed both times... BUT I NEVER GIVE UP!! even if i dont get 50 k , it still gives me a good reason to be a hermit all november! my novel is going to be about a medival world at battle with faires who want to be them. yah... still have alot to figure out!

There's a few people from out in 'Sauga. I lived out there last year. Most of the TO events are in the west end so you're not all too far away if you do go to events.

I didn't expect so many, glad to know I'm not going to be the only one failing to hand in my school work all November :P I'm Robyn, I go to Mentor College in Port Credit, but I actually live in Mississauga, and I'm in Grade 11... I've written one book before, but it was only 12000 words, so I'm looking forward to completely smashing that record! :) I'm doing this with my friend Harshita who isn't signed up, so I'm kinda speaking for both of us. Her novel is going to be an eighteenth century murder mystery, and mine is... well, it's kinda hard to explain concisely, but I have my idea plotted out, and I'm so excited to get it in print! Port Credit is lovely! I've been down in that area quite a bit in the past year. As for living out in Mississauga, as I mentioned earlier, most events are in the west end (though that may still be a tad far) but there were a few last year out by Square One. Events can actually be productive when we're not all socialising... or you can come out of your writing-induced cave to socialise. Nice to see another grade 11 too! :D Good luck to both of you!

Hey :D It's nice to see I'm not the only high schooler here. I'm Senna, grade 10, and I go to a random school in Markham. Actually, I just learned about this site from my friend, I think I have something planned...or maybe not. I've been on wattpad too much (anyone know wattpad?) so I feel like my idea's kind of too...wattpad-ish. Not published-novelish, you know? :3 I hope it works! My novel this year is about young Canadian soldiers who learn, love and lose in the brutal battlefields of WWI. Also there are ZOMBIES. Yes, so it is like a stereotypical "XXX WITH ZOMBIES" kinda novel. But I am avoiding cliches as best as I can....except that cliche where you kill a lot of people and jerks die first. Bye!

Wasap my fellow writing brothers and sisters, MAH NAME IS DRE. I'm in grade 22 divided by 2, and go to a boring old highschool in the Village of Cows, Milton. I'm writing a action/mystery/sci-fi novel this year for Nanowrimo. It'll be focused on dynamic narration rather than sappy love stories and what not. Seeing the lack of action novels out there (besides Artemis Fowl and Hunger Games), this has become my inspiration. I'M PRACTICALLY CREATING SOMETHING THAT IS NOT EVER SEEN BETWEEN THE TEENAGE GIRLS IN MY SCHOOL. EVER. heck, this is the first time I'm doing this thang. AND I STARTED 5 DAYS LATE. I swear I've created the habit of writing stories ONLY by typing on the computer. Don't expect me to be showing up at any of the events any time soon. I'd probably get super distracted, and I have no idea how I'm supposed to concentrate on writing 2000 words in a day, if there's a whole bunch of other individuals to get to know.

Oh wow! I know right? There are so many sappy romances nowadays, it is hard to find a decent action, adventure novel. :/ I'm a teenage girl myself and I know that I want to read some mystery novels with a good plot! And the bloodier and scarier it is, the better.I think I'll write a mystery next year about a detective and his assistants unraveling a murder conspiracy but this year I'm writing about Canadian soldiers fighting in the horrible conditions of WWI trenches, and there are with zombies. Because zombies make everything better. :P

Ah, homework isn't THAT bad. That is unless you take the sciences and whatnot. I strayed away from those fields so my load isn't too bad. And, only having four subjects a semester helps a lot because you only have 4 subjects for homework as opposed to 8 : )

Hello everyone! This is my first time NaNo and I'm from Bill Crothers Secondary School. I bet you maybe three people will have heard of that school before. I'm currently in grade 11 and I'm interested in arts, especially architecture. I auditioned for the arts york program for fine arts and made it! However I did not choose to attend the school that had was closest to me and offered the program simply because the school did not have a good reputation. I was wondering if anyone was looking for a meet up event for those near the York Region. Is anyone else looking into that?

nah, other schools (especially in the U.S.) tend to have 8 subjects per semester, but most of them found that it was too much so they split it into 4 I guess. Make sure you don't get all 3 in one semester, or you're dead, like me. :D

I'm Chris and I'm in the tenth grade I'm trying to do a psychological thriller of some sort, which is kind of a hassle because of all the plot planning (which I have not worked on sufficiently yet).
