You can probably see I'm a...few...days behind. So! Anyone else? We can all commiserate and egg each other on as we watch others speed past into the finish line....
Yes, I'm pretty behind too - supposed to be 50% done by tomorrow, and I'm not quite 25% done as of this post.
But what I keep telling myself is that - for me, at least - it's not about finishing my novel this month (because I think mine will come to a lot more than 50,000 words by the time it's actually done). It's not even about finishing 50,000 words of it this month, although that would be nice.
It's about writing as much as I can, while enjoying the support and encouragement of being part of NaNo - and realizing that however much I end up writing this month, it's probably going to be a lot more than I would have written if it weren't for NaNo, and that's something to be thankful for no matter what.
That's it you guys! Keep going. We're still early enough in this for you to catch up and come up with that brilliant plot twist that will make your word count soar!
I had a mac kernel crash on the first day (did not lose anything though and that would have been hard as all of my work is on this computer even though everything is backed up like on 5 different devices including my iphone now), have a four month old boy that is getting very active, tired myself out before nov. started with a 28k word outline that most of it is just a guide and won't be used at all and just plain not being able to do the work at home for obvious reasons. All in all I am pleased with what I have written so far and the direction that this part 3 of my novel will take. It will be over 50k for part 3 even though I am at about 14,000 years before present already and started with 300 million years before present. In this part 3 I have killed off more than half a trillion people and much more dinosaurs, other creatures, animals and whatever else happened to be around. So having one character never die ever kind of compensates for me killing off almost every living thing. :)
Covers some of our world's most notorious mass extinction events and I have not gotten to the one that is worse than those yet. Some civilizations were buried more than a 1,000 ft too. :)
I am not getting anywhere and have all but given up... I had an essay dew the first week, a chemistry exam last week and a math exam tomorrow... I try to write on the subway to school and back (when its not rush hour and I can move that is...) but to be honest that's really all I am getting done... It's about all I have really got in me right now... though I should do a count and update my number... there might be more than I expect hiding in my little book! :D
Yeah, Nanowrimo is located rather awkwardly as far as school goes. At least you've almost 7000 words - that's farther than you might otherwise have come :)
It IS possible to catch up - I was at something like 11,000 or 12,000 words when I posted here 4 days ago, and I just hit 20,000 tonight. You can do it too!
Okay, so I'm not the only one. This past week was a total write-off (pardon the pun), now I have to figure out how to fit in a LOT more writing if I'm not going to just give up for the however-many-th year in a row.
And I have an arbitration hearing on Tuesday that needs a lot of attention. I guess I'll see how much I get in this weekend. That stats thing telling me I need to write 3100 words a day now is more than a little disheartening.
Fortunately there's still almost two weeks, so though it looks like you're super behind, it's distributed so you don't have to necessarily write 5K in one day :P
Wanna bet on it? I only wrote on the subway writing session and haven't touched it since. I haven't even updated my count yet. I may get something done this week but I'm not holding my breath according to what's coming down the pipeline.
I had to stop writing so I could work on assignments and essays that all seem to be due this and next week. I'm starting to get to the point where I'm thinking I'll postpone my NaNo, screw winning, and keep track of the days I missed and work that many more when my term is over. I'm doing this for me, November or not. .-.
I am warn out and not getting any writing done really, but I will try to get to 40k at least. But I need to write more than 20mins in the day. Wish I could do 10 hours a day in writing, if I could I would probably make it. Is weird that I cannot when this is actually suppose to be my job or career lol.
Also, forgot to add that I have to get this book done, do editing and then have a second book published. Spent so much time working on getting the first book back out that my writing is kind of rusty. :)
Rallying post for those Really Behind
You can probably see I'm a...few...days behind. So! Anyone else? We can all commiserate and egg each other on as we watch others speed past into the finish line....
Re: Rallying post for those Really Behind
Lol definitely need this. I had Friday off work, but made even less progress than on a regular weekend.
** A long weekend = Procrastinate a longer to-do list **
Why???? =(
I actually had plenty of motivation to write but for some reason could not bring myself to actually do it. This is looking bad.
My official excuse is that the Leafs lost.
Re: Rallying post for those Really Behind
I'm *seriously* hoping that the Leafs don't give you anymore excuses.
Re: Rallying post for those Really Behind
When I have time and don't want to write is usually when I pop into the chat, because then there is the competitiveness of word wars to spur me on XD
Re: Rallying post for those Really Behind
I'm probably the most behind :P
Everytime I try to write something fun happens!
Re: Rallying post for those Really Behind
Hey, at least something fun happens! :D
Re: Rallying post for those Really Behind
Oh thank goodness. I thought I was the only one! I started 'officially' some time last week. 2500 words per day for me from now on.
Re: Rallying post for those Really Behind
You're almost on track - closer, anyway, than when you posted before \o/

And on that note, back to writing!

:o
That is a very alarming body count. A trillion! Good Lord.

Re: Rallying post for those Really Behind
typically seeing 3 sixes in my word count spurs me to add more. :)
Re: Rallying post for those Really Behind
Like I said I had more and hadn't counted... now I counted and the six's are gone! :D

Go you! :)
I was around 8500 4 days ago and now I'm almost 10000 up. No giving up allowed, guys! :)

Re: Rallying post for those Really Behind
Last day!! Come on, people who are behind! We can do it!
OR
If we can't, we can make it look more like we almost did it!
GO! GO! GO!
