Thank you to everyone who participated in the mentorship program. The first year was a great success! If you were a mentor or a mentee - feel free to throw me a note answering:
1. What I liked best about the program 2. What one thing about the program I would improve for next year
Here's some math for everyone who wants to know ...
BASELINE STAT - WIN RATE: As I recall from previous years, the "win rate" for Nano overall (across all regions) is about 15-20%
Mentorship program as a whole ... 50% win rate Mentees ... 38% win rate Mentors ... 73% win rate
CONCLUSION ... participating in the mentorship program more than doubles your chance at winning.
BASELINE STAT - AVERAGE WORD COUNT Average word count for toronto as a region (40.5m words/6,108 members) = 6,638 words
Average word count for program = 37,348 Average word count for mentees = 29,455 Average word count for mentors = 52,608
CONCLUSION ... participating in the mentorship program increased your word count by about 600%.
I cannot properly express how proud I am of everyone who participated in this program. Mentors: you gave your time and your experience and your encouragement. Mentees: you gave yourself over to the wild adventure that is NaNoWriMo.
Red!! Thank you again for running the pilot ToNaNo mentorship program! I'm glad to hear that it was such a success, and I've been hearing good things about it all month from mentors and mentees. <3

Re: Mentorship Results ...
It was really awesome, thank you! :D
I wouldn't have won without my lovely mentor.
Re: Mentorship Results ...
The mentorship program is a great idea and I sincerely believe it will one day lead us to collectively write more words than Seattle.
Re: Mentorship Results ...
Dude!
That is an AWESOME goal. Seriously ... that's just the kind of locked-and-loaded bracing adventure I've been looking for.
It makes me want to scramble around and see what our gap is and what it would take to accomplish it. Squee!!
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
Only ten months until November!
