Chick Lit Write-In?

I hope it's ok for me to start a new thread, but this is just an idea I've been tooling around with in my head over the past couple of days: A Chick Lit Write-In!

I know that we all have a busy month ahead of us and we all probably have our regional write-ins that we can go to and all sorts of other plans, but I think it would be great if we could organize one write-in of our own. We could make a chat room of our own for a few hours one night sometime next month, log in and chat as we write. It would give us a chance to talk in real time to one another and you never know what else we might get out of it.

Ideas? Comments? What does everyone else thing? Is anyone interested or is this a totally bogus idea?

I think that's a great idea! We could organize it on facebook (shameless promotion for a friend here - she's already started a facebook group for NaNo and write ins, so we could each join that because currently there's not a lot of activity) or whatever works for everyone else (a lot of people have AIM right? Can you group chat with that?)

I'd also be willing to do little mini write-ins where we just check in (maybe here on this thread?) with a "Yeah! I am cruising along!" or a "Crap. Crap, crap, crap. I'm stuck!" kind of things lol.

I was thinking about using Chatzy. It's a site where you can make your own private chat rooms. How it works is that before the write in, I or someone else would create a chat room, post the information here or somewhere and then everyone could log in, get to writing and get to chatting.

The only reason why I recommend this is because I know some people don't like handing out their Facebook information as well as the fact that not everyone has Facebook, Aim or other sites that you have to sign up for. With Chatzy you just go to a site, type in a desired user name, the room password and you're in!

Also, what's the link or name of your friends group? I'd love to join!

As for a mini write-in idea, I think it would be awesome! But I'm goal oriented so the idea of having a check-in would help me keep that 50k in mind and help me to keep on writing.

In a couple of days the regional chat rooms should be up and running here too, but I actually don't know if those chat rooms are available to the genre forums as well?

I would love to do this with you all! This really seems like a solid group over here in Chick Lit- chatzy is a great idea. Some start suggesting dates and times and we can work from there! Maybe a couple in case we can't all make the first one? Like a weekend date and then an evening week one?

I love Chatzy. It's so easy to use. I think that would be the best solution. Just name a time and a room!!

How's this Saturday, starting 9am or so Eastern and going throughout the day? That way both our friends overseas and on the West Coast can join at some point or another.

I'd love to do the write-in on Saturday. I work, but it won't be all day so I'm sure I can pop my head in on occasion.

I've never used Chatzy before. Would someone else set it up? I'm afraid I can only stay during am hours as I have a meeting in the afternoon... or I can do one (I'm assuming it's easy to figure out) in the am and someone else in the pm.
