Buddy Up And Edit

Most of us are all going through the same problems right now.
We love our characters, but these last few chapters are KILLING US, and writing just a few more words is so dreadful, we almost mean that literally.
We're beginning to despise our beautifully crafted main character, because the fact is, she needs to encounter another life-endangering twist in her somewhat normal life, to make the story even REMOTELY interesting.
That subplot involving a deranged ex-wife, and a near-death experience? Well, yeah, of course it's interesting and filled to the brim with quotes-you-want-to-use-on-your-neighbor-when-his-dog-digs-in-your-garden-but-can't-because-of-the-restraining-order-that-will-ensue, but you're going to have to cut it out entirely. Trust me on this one, save yourself the delayed heartbreak, and start to crack out edits like the lash of a whip.
Oh, and scratch that page entirely focused on the taste of cream cheese. If anything, do it for the trees. Or your mother. My point is, they'll both thank you at an unknown date in the future. (If you speak Tree, that is..)
Anyway, some of us are stuck, some are exhausted, others are beginning to feel allergic to editing... Also, a quick shout-out to all of you moaning about possibly having carpal tunnel.
No matter. I accept you all, and want you one day to be able to smell that new book smell of your own book, a book you scrapped the title to more than a dozen times to just get that one small detail of an entire world PERFECT. I want your story to have a gorgeous name for itself, and so much more!
So let's do this together. Buddy up. Send out a nanomail. Swap your stories. Leave an excerpt in dire need of fresh eyes down below. Email one another. Maybe even make a friend or two. Tell tales of awful, lonely editing times that horrify the first-timers. Moan about that carpal tunnel we talked about earlier to your heart's content. Come up with a nice dedication page that makes everyone you know swell with pride. Give and accept encouragement with love.
Lets. Do. This.
Together.

That's exactly what the critique forum is for (one or two above this link on the forum page). At least the story swapping/editing/review stuff. There's also query reviews and that stuff, not just for the novels.

THis is an interesting idea. You think it'd be best to post a bit of a bio? What your editing strengths are, what sort of novel you've been writing and such?

Yes.
A bio would be nice.
What information do you suggest we include? Examples: Name, how you usually critique, what you want critiqued, your writing style... (This goes to anyone who sees this message.) I don't want to miss anything!
