What to Wear

Okay I know we don't HAVE to dress up for NOWD, but I think it would be fun. Any ideas on how to dress for the "noir" theme?

I have my eyes set on my brother's black pete coat from Old navy, that is until I get permission to take it with me. Everything else I have is going. Except the fedora. I never look good in a hat.

I think the only noir-ish thing I have is my new fedora. I will be wearing my vest with my YWP buttons.

I'm personally going for the whole "femme fatale" theme of Noir Films. It fits perfectly with my novel.

And my hat is amazing.

What can I say, I just don't do "slinky".

Just got my amazing dress today!

My idea of noir is "clothing that would look good in black and white photos". So I think of vintage dresses with classic shapes, shirts and blouses with interesting striking lines or patterns, ladies wearing dark red lipstick, high contrast ensembles (like white on black or black on white), etc. Dick Tracey films are typically shot with a noir theme, so that might be a good search term to look up on the internet for images.

I'll be more of a "fatal femme" than a "femme fatale" ... but it will be all black.

I have a black vintage dress and a fur shawl i'm going to wear to be authentic. Hopefully it won't be too cold. . .
