Okay, I wanted to start a new thread for this and break it out of the 'Group activities' discussion.
It looks like not everybody was happy with Lori's diner last year, but a lot of us had loads of fun - do we want to go with the same venue or try somewhere else?
My vote is to stay with Lori's, just because I haven't found another breakfast place in San Fran that's much good.
There are two Lori's diners in the Union Square neighborhood, as I think Shana knows. ;) The one we gathered at last year is at the corner of Sutter at Powell, one block north of the northwest corner of the square. Map link.
The other Lori's diner is two blocks south on Powell street, near the southwest corner of the square. I propose returning to the Sutter street diner.
I may well be having breakfast at Lori's other days, (mmm, pancakes and bacon!) and would love to meet up with other wrimo-ers, but if we're not specifying otherwise in this thread, assume the topic of conversation is Sunday. :)
As a reminder for anybody interested, there's an East Bay write-in on Sunday from 10-2 at Pegasus Books, near the downtown Berkeley BART station. I was thinking of taking the train out there once the breakfast was over, if anybody else wanted to come along.
(And thank you to honeywell, East Bay ML for letting us know about that write-in.)
My friend and I will be there! IIRC, they tend to be REALLY busy on the weekends. I don't think they do reservations, but if we can get a rough headcount, it might be helpful to call and give them a heads-up on our plans?
Just to update everyone... I stopped in last night - Lori's won't take reservations for under 20 people. But they did tell me that they're "not usually busy on weekends, especially around 9ish". Guess we'll just keep our fingers crossed.
I've arrived too and just heading down to loris for my Saturday breakfast in a few. Should be there by eight. I'll be wearing a white nanowrimo shirt if anybody wants to join me :)
Wrimo breakfast discussion and planning!

Re: Wrimo breakfast discussion and planning!
I thought Lori's was fine and it was good because it was really convenient (as long as you...ahem...went to the right location).
Re: Wrimo breakfast discussion and planning!
Where is Lori's? This is my first year and I really want to come to the breakfast.

What day is this breakfast planned for?
Re: Wrimo breakfast discussion and planning!
'The' breakfast is Sunday morning, the 20th.

Re: Wrimo breakfast discussion and planning!
The Sutter St one from last year is ideal for me. My hotel's about 3 blocks away :)
Re: Wrimo breakfast discussion and planning!
Good deal - first person there try to snag a big table! Anybody have a write-in tent card they can bring, or other means of identifying oneself?
Re: Wrimo breakfast discussion and planning!
Oops...another question: did I miss the time?
Re: Wrimo breakfast discussion and planning!
I can bring my 'Writers assemble Nanowrimo here' card, I think.
Time is a very good question - we did it at 9 in the morning last year, right? I think that worked pretty well.

Re: Wrimo breakfast discussion and planning!
Breakfast sounds good! I think I'll have time for the same thing on Monday, too, if anyone's interested.
Re: Wrimo breakfast discussion and planning!
I'm there for a breakfast at 9am! :)

Re: Wrimo breakfast discussion and planning!
On a totally unrelated note, it's nice to see other people here w/ wordcounts similar to mine. Whew! I'm not the only playing catchup :)
Re: Wrimo breakfast discussion and planning!
I was thinking about going Saturday morning, and letting them know that we'd be having a big group in on Sunday.
Re: Wrimo breakfast discussion and planning!
Chris, you think of everything. :)
Re: Wrimo breakfast discussion and planning!
Myself and My SO will come... our hotel is a whole block away and this will require a struggle, but we think we can make it.
