Trying to choose a hostel
I would really like to try the hostel experience in San Francisco but am not sure which one to choose. Any suggestions?

I don't know which hostel is better. I just read reviews and settled on the Hosteling International Downtown SF hostel down on Mason Ave. even though it is further than the others. But I know others going to NOWD staying at the Pacific Tradewinds and Amsterdam Hostel.
I just kind of went with my gut and I'm hoping for the best. So far I've called the HI-Downtown Hostel for some information and the seemed really nice and helpful.

I'm staying there too! It seems like a pretty cool place.

Oh cool! When are you going to get into SF? I won't be getting in until around 10PM Friday night.

I'm getting there at about 9 or 10pm on Saturday night. Ha. I'm not staying in SF very long, unfortunately.

Hey, I'll be staying on Mason St too, at the King George hotel - do you guys want to be walking buddies to/from the event?

Thanks so much. I booked Friday night at the HI Downtown Hostel and will figure out the rest of the weekend once I'm there. See you all in a couple of days!

I arrive today at the downtown hostel. That is if my flight does keep delayed.

The Pacific Tradewinds, while a little bit of a pain to go up 4 flights of stairs, is actually perfectly located between all the events for this weekend. I would recommend checking it out for next year if everything stays the same. They've been very friendly and helpful, and it's always clean.
