I just read reviews and settled on the Hosteling International Downtown SF hostel down on Mason Ave. even though it is further than the others. But I know others going to NOWD staying at the Pacific Tradewinds and Amsterdam Hostel. I just kind of went with my gut and I'm hoping for the best. So far I've called the HI-Downtown Hostel for some information and the seemed really nice and helpful. I would recommend checking it out for next year if everything stays the same. They've been very friendly and helpful, and it's always clean.
