Covers

For those of you that have covers for your novels...who made them for you? The reason why I ask and am posting in this section is because no one in the artisan section seems to take requests for erotic novel covers, even if nothing about the cover is depicting erotic imagry.

I'd make it myself....I'm just not sure how to.

This is for my June camp NaNo novel.

I pulled pictures from istockphoto.com for a small fee, mocked up some samples, then had a buddy work on them for me. He refined them and really made them come together.

My advice is to be sure that your cover looks good in a thumbnail size too. About 1 x 1.6 inches or so. At a minimum, they need to be able to read your title at that size.

If you're going to go through a traditional publisher, don't bother with a cover. They'll handle that and you'll typically get no input on it as they consider that part of the marketing effort along with the title.

This is just for NaNo, I have no intentions of publishing.
