Is anyone interested in write-ins in Colchester? I thought I'd try and arrange some! I've spoken to 15QueenStreet - a hub for artists and creatives here - and they've given me some dates and available space... I've not done this before so I'm wondering how much interest there is, or if it's just me!
I have a job during the day, and I wasn't sure if there would be any interest so I arranged the meetings for 7.30pm (15 Queen Street). There may be some interest in meeting during the day for some people - maybe you could come along Thursday evening and see? Or if you can't make it I could ask for you. Or you might meet some buddies on here that you can arrange to meet up with?
Good luck - are you starting tonight? I can't - I'll def be in bed by then!
I am hoping to be there. Where is it best to park that time of night? Also - does 15 Queen st have a name or is it simply 15 Queen St? Is it a cafe/bar etc? I've only started tonight - in London til late yesterday and busy all day today. So not a great start - only up to 250 words so already very much behind! Still every bit helps........
Thanks for arranging these sessions.
Hope to see you tomorrow (er - looking at watch - make that later today!),
Wasn't sure from your post; is it day time sessions you might be able to make? You live in Layer - Marney, Breton or de Haye? I'm Layer Breton! Just a thought - there's always John Harrison's Artists cafe in Layer Breton daytime....open most but not all days....what do you think? There is also Tiptree library.
Anyone interested? If so, I'll speak to John and arrange a few days, times (I can usually make Monday and Wednesday mornings, Friday afternoons)
Hi all just checking in on Planet Colchester Nanowrimo 2011. I am aiming at a normal 300-500k model with 50k as a downpayment en route to qaulify for Scrivener 50% Discount. I live in Highwoods so pain in the arse to get places as 2 bus route, depends on where it is, Town Centre Convenient. I might put SKYPE on so I could have Nano folks on it and intereract from safety of own home if all else fails. Wishing the best for everyone.
Brilliant! :o) Just to let you all know - I've updated the regional calendar with these events, so don't forget to keep checking back! (Colchester events 7.30pm - 9.30pm!)
Thanks to everyone that came to the first write in - there were thirteen of us Colchesterians (?) writing away last night. It was great to meet the people that came along. There are two more Thursday 7.30pm sessions planned, and we are thinking of another for the last week of the month (if we're still hanging in there!) on a different day of the week. Everyone welcome. I parked in Priory Street car park - I think that is nearest.
The people that can make day-time sessions may be able to use the room at 15 Queen Street, as I have flexi-membership for the month. I could find out about this if anyone is interested.
Thanks for sorting it out Emma, was very pleasant this evening and nice to meet everyone. Sorry I can't make next week, but do let us know about the final week meet! Right, must get back to the writing....
Never mind! We'll deffo be doing Colchester write-ins next year. We're also going to be starting a drop in writing group if you're interested? One evening during the week (as yet TBA).
It seems I somehow missed this post... and thus tonight. Thanks for the info though - I'm sorry, could you remind me exactly where you guys are meeting? I looked at the posts listed and I'm still not quite sure.
Hi - I wasn't sure how long people would be looking at this site!
It turns out that there was a mix up with bookings for the first night - so we have changed the nights we will meet to the 2nd and 4th Mondays of the month at 7.30. We are meeting at 15 Queen Street in Colchester town centre.
The first meeting of the new writing group will be next Monday 12th December - so I hope you see this in time and can make it. We will discuss name, and future dates at that meeting.
You will be able to find updates on the 'creatives in colchester' website or facebook page.

Re: Colchester NaNoWriMo
Thanks =). I'll try to be there. Other than a pen and paper, should I bring anything?
Re: Colchester NaNoWriMo
There needs to be an edit button -
I meant to ask: how long does it last for? A couple of hours?
Re: Colchester NaNoWriMo
No need to bring anything else - some people bring laptops, there is wifi access. We provide drinks and biscuits!
It's 7.30 to 9.30, which will include a period of writing time, as well as a catch up with the other writers.
See you Monday
Emma
Re: Colchester NaNoWriMo
Thanks to Emma for another good write-in tonight!
Re: Colchester NaNoWriMo
Thanks Doug and congratulations in advance!
Re: Colchester NaNoWriMo
Thanks Emma - only 600 words or so to go - I've just got to finish tonight now!
Re: Colchester NaNoWriMo
