I've just found out about the Dare Generator on the YWP website in this week's peptalk. I advise you too to use it - I love dares!

I've been dared to write a scene with these 5 words : liver, stepmother, vortex, spasm, grotesque.

Which reminds me : we could have set up a dare for the Luxembourg region. We used to do that in Northern Ireland - first year I took part in, we had to include a pumpkin and the next year it was a ninja, a pirate, a robot and a monkey (yep! All of four of them and I managed to have them all in one scene). In France, they have Gatorism - which consists in including an alligator in your Na-Novel (all explained here for those who can read french).

Hmm that might be a cool idea! The dares I mean. Read about that page on the pep-talk as well but haven't had the time yet to actually have a look at it, but sounds like I really should! :-)

The other idea I wanted to suggest was word wars at the next write-in. It helps sometimes, especially when you have people writing approximately the same amount of words per minute, to speed each other up and get that word count up in no time at all.

No, Crockpot, you could turn the tide by not adding too much meat. Just veggies and adjectives. ;)

This is a nifty idea, Mina! Let's think up a string of words for Saturday. I feel attracted to the dare words that you shared.May I use then, too? They are all pretty visceral, even stepmother!

So happy that the message made it through the ether. Oh, the dreaming....mine are daydreams, but so real. Yes, the existential reality of the "work-to-pay-bills". I feel as though I have been born into the wrong century.
Did you notice the counter? No 111 has signed up. I do wish that the last 3 persons would manifest themselves. But, if they perfer to lurk, I will respect their wishes **sigh, sigh, sigh*
Working on a plan B....

Not to worry, now that the lux gang is on tracks, it's going to be a worldwide success over the years. The shy people from yesterday will become the talkative ones of tomorrow! :)

On another note: I just redo the whole planning of my novel, chapter by chapter. I'm "seeing" the scenes and I'm really really getting excited about it. Now, all I need to do is manage to find a few spare hours to enter a writing frenzy! :)
