Me, me, me! I've already pre-ordered Skyward Sword with the shiny gold Wii controller. :3 I'm going to try to keep it as a reward for myself after winning NaNo... but we'll see how that goes.
I probably won't be able to get it until Christmas, but I'm SO EXCITED!!!!!!
So yeah, I love me some Zelda. :D I've played a bit of the original, Minish Cap, most of Wind Waker, Twilight Princess, and have just begun Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask.
YEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSS Legend of Zelda is SO. GOOD. (Even if, for pretty much every game I've played, I needed to consult a walkthrough every ten minutes ...) I'd say I've played most of the Legend of Zelda games in existence. Ocarina of Time used to be my favorite, but now, it's definitely Twilight Princess. I recently did a play-through of Majora's Mask -- I don't really know why everyone thinks it's so bad. I loved it. Well, aside from some of the creepiness. I'll never get over Tatl saying, "Even though they're lovers, they look just like a mother and child!" Oh Legend of Zelda, you and your incest.
I am so behind on Zelda games. I only got around to buying Twilight Princess last month. =3c I love Majora's Mask and Wind Waker, though. Both have characterization which I felt was lacking in OoT. Majora's Mask is so dark and haunting, and the minutely-plotted world of the three days is so alive. Wind Waker's vibrant colors and daring art style just charmed me, and for once the puzzles were easy enough that a clumsy gamer like myself could get through the game with only the scantest help from a strategy guide (which was bought for me along with the game as a present). I've heard great things about Twilight Princess and can't wait to play it. I also think that one day I'll need to play Link's Awakening again. I got to the final dungeon and was stuck there.
The main characters of my novel were all OCs in a Zelda fanfiction at some point in my life (A.K.A. middle school). I enjoy walking around in my Zelda T-shirts, because people give weird looks to the little happy sunshiney optimistic girl walking around in a T-shirt with swords and arrows on it.
Also, I'm RESISTING the temptation to get Skyward Sword in November.
Actually, even if I did get it, I would never play it during November, because I'm busy writing, duh!
My favorite Zelda game is Twilight Princess. It's so PRETTY. And shiny. And I really like the character design, especially the costumes.
Zelda, Zelda, Zelda!!! :D I cannot even express my love for these games. I've been playing them since I was quite little and my love only grows. I think I have played pretty much all of the Zelda games.
My favorites are Ocarina of Time, The Wind Waker, and Twilight Princess. I always have a hard time deciding between those three which is the best, I think I lean in favor of Twilight Princess.
GAH!! I forgot Skyward Sword comes out in November! D: What am I going to do?? I like your idea, Trethsparr, about rewarding yourself at the end of the month with it. Perhaps that is what I shall do. Hmmm...
Beh - Skyward Sword, as mentioned, will be on the Wii - it's an origin story for the Master Sword, and, it looks like, the Royal Family (Zelda isn't a princess in it). Of all the games released so far, it's the earliest (not saying that there won't be earlier ones, you never know!). I'm a Hyrule history geek, so I'm stupidly excited for it!
...So, anyone doing Zelda fic this year? I did it for the last two (actually, I did two in 2009!), and while my main one this year is original, I might do another Zelda fic if I manage my time well enough.
I hope to be done before Skyward Sword... We'll see how that actually goes. I'm pretty sure if I don't finish it before then, odds are I won't finish NaNo...
But since I finished last year half way through the month I can make it.
Probably also going to do a Twilight Princess play through before November...
So: what's your number one hope for Skyward Sword? Mine? Sheikah. Preferably a Sheikah community - the Hylians, Gerudo, Kokiri, Gorons, Zora, Rito, Anouki, more races than I can think of have all had towns and villages! Why not the Sheikah?
My number one hope, I think, is that it will be the best Zelda game yet. Basically, if it surpasses Twilight Princess, I'll be happy! Also, I'm really looking forward to the orchestrated music. :D
My one and only game love. Not not really but Zelda is the only series that I can play over and over and over and over again and still be excited. I'm actually going on another playthrough of Majora's Mask, which is my absolute favorite, without playing the song of inverse (or I believe that is what it is called) so this should be a challenge!
Sadly, I haven't played WW, TP, and I won't be getting my hands on Skyward Sword so at least my word count won't suffer. But really, this game is amazing, I love it. And the fandom is amazing. I especially like writing from the POV of the characters in Majora's Mask, there's so much creepyness and sadness in the game that makes it so beautiful.
MM is definitely one of the creepier, sadder, darker games. It's amazing :) Lots of fantastic characters! Apparently, Skyloft is going to be similar to Clock Town in the amount of characters you can interact with and stories you can be involved with.
Legend of Zelda
So, who's going to be fatally distracted in late November by Skyward Sword coming out? Gulp!

Re: Legend of Zelda
I didn't know about the new game. :O What's the story to it? What platform? I want ittt!
My favorite is Ocarina of Time (on the N64) followed by Wind Waker (Gamecube.) I love them all so much!

Re: Legend of Zelda
@Beh: Skyward Sword will be on the Wii! It's apparently supposed to come before Ocarina of Time chronologically.
Re: Legend of Zelda
Oh man. Skyward Sword is going to ruin me if I don't get enough of a head start.
Re: Legend of Zelda
I will be the happiest girl in the world when Skyward Sword comes out. Also the most unproductive one.

Re: Legend of Zelda
I think I'm gonna wait a while to get Skyward Sword. I think it'll probably be too expensive for me to buy right when it comes out.
Wind Waker is definitely my favorite, then Minish Cap, and then either Majora's Mask, or Twilight Princess next.

I plan on using Skyward Sword as a treat to myself only if I meet my word count for the day.
... ZELDA, WHY U NO BE RELEASED AFTER NANO? :

Now, what are we doing on the last page...?

Re: Legend of Zelda
Really?? That's a great point they are bringing back to the Zelda games, the NPC interaction. I wish I could get my hands on the game :/
Re: Legend of Zelda
Hahahaha YES! I don't think I'm getting it right when it comes out, but I am DEFINITELY playing it! Ah, I love you nerds.
