So, anyone else going just a wee bit crazy waiting for the new season/series? I'm in the US, so I think I am going to be a babbling wreck by the time the episodes get to me :)
Can't wait for this to get back on our screens. Wasn't crazy about the idea when it was first advertised, but saw the first episode and was completely hooked - great scripts and casting. Perfect TV show. I can't believe that the new series is only three episodes long again after the rave reviews the first one got. Still, quality over quantity, I guess.
I was like you. I was a bit dubious about the whole thing but watched it anyway because, well, Sherlock Holmes! The casting was what dragged me in. Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman are perfect and I love how they've dealt with Watson's Wandering Wound! :D
I know! Especially since I am a spoiler junkie and I've been feeding my addiction every chance I get. Don't want to spoil anyone else, though, so I'll leave it there (gotta figure out how to do spoiler tags here!).
Caught it on Netflix Instant Watch and really, really enjoyed it. Since I'm the resident entertainment guru, my friends pester me about once every few weeks, asking when the next season will come out.
So far, they've not been happy with the "next year" answer. :-)
I love this show so much. I discovered the three episodes on Netflix, and I watched them in three days. :3 I can't wait until the new season comes out!!!
I watched the first season one night with my husband, and we both liked it. I really love how they portray Sherlock himself, though admittedly I'm not too fond of Moriarty. Watson is cool, not the best or the worst. Still, I like the writing and how they portray the Sherlock thought process, so I'm excited for season two. :)
Glad I'm not the only one who cringed at the second episode. I'm not fully sold on how they've done Moriarty, but the series was just so darn amazing that I'm sure it'll feel more natural in the second season. Fingers crossed, anyway!
oh god, that second episode is just painful, blatant racism and misogyny, because that's exactly what I want to see on my tv * eye roll* Despite that, I still really love the show while acknowledging its flaws, and at least the John/Sherlock banter in that episode is really quite lovely.
I have it on DVD (well, bluray, but my friends have it on DVD...) and it has subtitles and everything. It was available here on DVD even before they put it on TV. (Australia, friends in both the UK and USA have it.)
I love the whole modern angle they took for the story. Original Sherlock is great, but the new, modern Sherlock is just as cool! I can't wait for the next season.
I started watching it when it first came out but it didn't really interest me then and I never finished, but I rewatched the whole first series yesterday and now I really really want series 2. I hope it does come out in January next year and not December or something...
And I agree with everyone that the second episode was a bit shit. And it had no Lestrade. Which is unforgivable.
(also Martin Freeman is adorable and everytime he shows up I just want to give him and his terrible jumper a great big hug)
This show is amazing. At first I wasn't too excited because I figured a modernized version would have practically nothing to do with the original Sherlock Holmes. And I couldn't believe how wrong I was. This is one of the few times that I can say I loved an adaptation of a literary story because for once, you've got writers who are constantly going back to the original material instead of stealing the premise and paving their own way from there.
I love BBC's Sherlock, great casting for Sherlock and John and I like how they put in the modern stuff but they still used lots of things from the ACD canon.

I caught the first season on netflix and really liked it. Is there going to be another season?
Re: BBC Sherlock
Yeah, three more 90 minutes episodes in January I believe. Can't wait!
Re: BBC Sherlock
I have been waiting impatiently for season two ever since the first one aired last year. :-)

It is killing me waiting for the next season.

*facial twitch*
I loooove this show! I don't have BBC America so I'm gonna have to wait until March to see them I bet XP
Re: BBC Sherlock
I adore this show so much, even with its problematic second episode. I just hope the second season lives up to the massive expectations.

Re: BBC Sherlock
This show. I am ridiculously in love with it. Sherlock. John. The way Sherlock and John banter. The modern takes on the mysteries. Just everything.
Only things that could make it better would be having the first season on proper DVDs so I could get subtitling, and, of course, the next season.

There's just one thing I don't like about Sherlock: The *waiting* for the *new episodes*!!!

I adore this show. I have been pouting over the fact that the second season is taking so long to come out.
The casting is amazing, and I love how they tied it so well to the original stories. I also love the nods to the Grenada Sherlock Holmes.

Re: BBC Sherlock
Sherlock was by far one of the best things on TV last year, can't wait to see the new episodes! I love the modern spin on the stories
