Don't know if anyone else has read these books, but they're excellent. I like Fire the best of the two. Now I'm awaiting Cashore's next work.

I loved Graceling! Katsa is so cool. I'm halfway through Fire, it's a rather good prequel.

I think by the time you get to the end of Fire you'll be quite pleased. Bitterblue is the next one that's coming out, I think. I'll buy that one for sure.

Haven't read fire but Graceling was good.

I feel like I'm about to get flamed for saying it, but I loved Graceling and then hated Fire. As a result, I'm a little lukewarm about Bitterblue, which I do really want to read, but don't know exactly what I'm expecting out of it. I just felt that the originality and plotting of Graceling was so much better than Fire. Maybe I just connected better with Katsa.

As a side note, after getting accepted to Grad school I discovered that I'm attending the same place Cashore got her MA from. Kind of hoping she'll come here when Bitterblue comes out.

I'm right there with ya. I really enjoyed Graceling. I really, really did. And so I happily gobbled up Fire and was left feeling rather let down. Without giving anything away, it felt very soap opera-esque, and I felt like the "prequal" part felt extremely forced. That being said, I will most certainly read the next one, but my expectations will be fairly low.

I love these books!! I did love both Fire and Graceling. They are just so original, at least in the ideas for the world, that I love them almost just for that. And then, of course, I think her writing is great...
I have noticed, though, that her endings always go past where you think they'll end. You'll be thinking that it's almost over soon, and then all of a sudden you've got a whole lot more to go. That was mostly Fire, but still.

I loved both Graceling and Fire! I really liked Cashore's style of writing. If I had to pick my favorite of the two, I liked Fire the best. Actually, I read Fire before Graceling, and maybe that heavily influences my opinion.

No one's written here for a while - found this page on google though, and I just had to share, I loveeee Graceling! I haven't read Fire yet, but when I get the money I'm buying it straight away. One of my friend's told me about Graceling, and how she didn't like it, so when I read it, I did end up being as critical as possible... but I couldn't find anything wrong with it. It was so good! :)

Love 'em! :D

What I absolutly love about them... You can't pick out where the plot starts, except the first page! :D I mean, in each one, the first event ends up very important... I guess you could argue about the prequal in Fire, but... I think it was important. :D
