I seriously JUST started watching this series like, three weeks ago, and I'm already totally obsessed. >.>
*ahem* My goal is to watch the entire series BEFORE NaNo starts, so it doesn't distract me while I'm trying to novel. I'm up to Season Three, and about three episodes in. Woo!
Also I promised myself that if I get my actual NaNo novel done early, I'm gonna give fanfiction a try.
I know there are more of you guys out there. I've totally seen y'all on ff.net! :D
Was the same with me! I started and finished watching all seasons in the 6 weeks of summer break! So I'm now able to watch the new season in real time :)
Hey guys, huge supernatural fan here, I love Sam he's been my favorite from the start (no matter how badly he screws up) but the main reason I think the show is so great is because one of the funniest shows on television while at the same time creepy. I miss the ghostfacer and trickster episodes :(
I caught an episode during season 5 and fell in love. I went back and watched all the previous seasons in a month (my goal was tofinish them before the winter hiatus ended). Season 2 is my favorite, probably followed by season 5. I love both brothers, but I'm a "Dean girl," as they say. I adore Castiel as well.
(Sort of vague season 7 spoilers here) So far I've really liked Season 7, although I refuse to believe that the Leviathan were telling the truth about Cas. At the moment I'm excited for this week's episode.
I agree with you completely regarding Cas. He's been around for three seasons now and was basically the completion of the Supernatural A-Team. As much as he went haywire at the end of Season 6, if that was actually his death, then it was downright insulting. So I refuse to believe he is gone, just knocked out in his own vessel. He'll be back and Dean will give him his coat and all will be rainbows and sunshine and pie again :)
I've been a huge fan since I found the show 2 years ago. I fell in love with it and caught up in a month. I still love the show the same amount, but WHAAAT? CAS DD; NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! CAS noO!!!!!!!! Don't do that with Cas nonononONO!NO!
I've only caught like 3 episodes I was hooked from the first one I saw though sadly all were season finals so I had to annoy my friend with questions she even sent me a picture of death.
I've been watching since it first aired. I wrote fanfiction for it for many years and it's part of the reason why I'm still writing. I love this show with all my heart and even though last season, IMO, was a bit rough and tumble, Season 7 is shaping up to be quite great.
I love all the characters, but I definitely have a soft spot for Cas and Dean -draws hearts-
I started watching SPN at the beginning of the summer. Watched season 1 to 6 in over a month. I'm obsessed.
Personally, I'm not liking how things are going at the moment with season 7 mainly because I adore Castiel (he's kind of the reason why I started watching the show, but then again, who am I to say? And because all of my favorites have died..Balthazar, Gabriel, Jo, Ash and poor Adam needs to be given a ticket out of the pit.)
So, yeah, I put off watching this show for so long but now it is the air I need to breathe. The Winchesters are life ruiners.
I'm now about halfway through Season 3, so I think I need to watch a bit more per day to get done before NaNo begins. I totally have to say my favorite character is Sam (or maybe I just love seeing him get whumped...Is that healthy? Probably not, huh?)
From the more recent clips n' stuff I've seen, I also ADORE Castiel, and I also refuse to think he's dead. He's SUCH an amazing character.
I totally agree, Castiel's a wonderful character, I've loved him since Lazarus Rising. I think he's in for some kind of redemption arc this season because the backlash of killing him off would be insane, especially if the show's renewed for another year.
Dean's my favorite character but I definitely have a soft spot for Sam. Though Soulless!Sam was such a cool twist on the character and Jared Padalecki's performance was so chilling. That little smirk... gives me chills every time.
Also, CONGRATS to Jared and Gen! They're going to be such great parents!
I'm glad that the show has gotten back to being just the brothers and Bobby. I never got into Castiel. The way he was written (fish out of water) just didn't match his background. He wasn't a newborn angel, he was ancient. He was there when that little grey fish crawled out of the ocean, so seeing him act like everything human was new to him creeped me out. All of the other angels had personalities; why didn't Castiel? Misha even said so in a recent interview.
I like Misha Collins, and I always felt Castiel could have been so much more. I always enjoyed seeing him in the gag reels. He was the best thing (as Misha Collins) in The French Mistake, and I loved Future!Cas in The End. Regular Cas? Not so much.
I wish Misha all the best with Divine and his new baby.
My best friend is obsessed (honest to God, OBSESSED in a way I can't explain) with Supernatural. She got me watching it a few weeks ago and now I'm starting to get really into it too. She had a Season 7 premiere party and invited me, so I've been spoiled for the new season even though I've only seen Season 1 so far. Oh, well, I have been watching Season 7 religiously every Firday now, too xP
Spoilers Season 7? I never really knew Cas very well since I hadn't watched any of the episodes after he had been introduced, but my friend was in tears during the season opener. She loves Cas. So much. She doesn't think he's really dead. She explained it all to me, and told me her theory as to how he's still alive, and she convinced me xP
I've been watching SPN since the first season. I loved it back then and continued to rave about it for the first few seasons, and recommended it to anyone who'd listen long enough. But now...
I feel like it's just become so heavy. I get that they had to change things and have more of an arc to keep things fresh, but in the first season it was like, "Find dad," and while that was obviously a big thing for Sam and Dean, it didn't have quite the emotional baggage of, "Save the world...again." Seriously, they haven't had time to catch their breath in like three seasons now, and it honestly just depresses me! If it's not Sam going dark it's Dean being in hell, if it's not Lillith threatening the world then it's the angels. If I were them I'd probably have given up long ago and just gone for suicide. I'm sure someone told them once that they were pretty much guaranteed to get into heaven now, so they might as well.
But I still watch it, because I do still love the characters (Sam, Dean, Bobby and Cas (and I hope he returns) and I love their comedy moments. It's also the only thing that can consistently make me jump, even when I know what's coming. I just wish it was a little less morose these days, y'know?
I agree! I mean, all those dramatic storylines are creative and interesting and all, but there slowly a bit over the top. I liked it in the first season, Dean and Sam had their secret identities and their Hunter-friends. Now they're always alone and have to save the world. I also miss the diversity of monsters and how the enemy changed every week.
Love Supernatural, been watching it since it's itty bitty baby days and am a huge Dean fangirl (sorry Sammy, but emo's just don't do it for me ;D) and not to come with spoilers, but when I thought we'd lost Bobby too I nearly cried. As if losing Cas and Ellen wasn't bad enough.
Been addicted since 2007 and own most of the literature that you can get in this country (NZ, and quite frankly, zilch-all unless I order overseas)
I'd be happy to help out anyone with plot bunnies or finding specific quotes/scenes at the drop of a hat. My friends think I'm creepy but... what do they know right? When the apocalypse hits they'll be sorry they don't have a duffel under their bed with salt, holy water and a hatchet
Cheyson, I'd love to have a plot bunny/Quotes helper :) QUOTES ARE AWESOME, how can your friends not realise this?! :) Have a notebook full of quotes, but they're only quotes that inspire me- which unfortunately don't fit my novel too much.
Haha, don't forget the shotgun with rocksalt in them- just in case the apocalypse brings any more ghosts!
Omg. You are an amazing person! XD I might have to take you up on this offer as well. I was trying to avoid writing any Supernatural fanfics before NaNo, because I was afraid it would slow me down. But this little plot bunny has been nibbling at me for about two days now...Since I've only seen through season three, and clips of later seasons, I just might have to use you as my resource person. XD
I'm actually watching three different seasons at the moment :P I got into it in July, and I'm half way through Season 4 from there. Episodes of Season 6 have been on Living after the programme about Steps Reunion, so I've seen three of those. I've seen the first three episodes of Season 7.
I just started watching it two weeks ago, and I'm about halfway through season 1. I am so obsessed. Also, my friend got me addicted to Wincest fanfiction. So, yeah.
Okay, so can we just take a minute to talk about Misha and his trolling? This whole gishwhes thing. I signed up for it, and the emails I've gotten have just confused me more. I've just given up and am waiting for whatever happens when the countdown ends.
Yep, I'm doing the same thing! I suck at guessing stuff and scavenger hunt-style things like gishwhes... I'll just leave it to others, the countdown will be finished soon, and we'll see what happens then!
Am I the only one who liked old Ruby (Katie Kassidy) more than the Ruby the replaced her with? Also, what are your guys favorite season one episode? :)
I like Genevieve's Ruby better, but I know I'm in the minority. I first watched the show backasswards starting with Season 4, so she was my first Ruby and has always remained my favorite.
As for Season 1 eps: the Pilot (I get so freaking sentimental rewatching it), Scarecrow, Faith, Asylum, any of the episodes with Jeffrey Dean Morgan...
I think I was bored one day, on the internet looking for something to do. I was faintly familiar with the premise of the show so I just decided to randomly dive right in to see if it was any good. Since Lazarus Rising ended with Castiel's very impressive entrance, I just had to finish watching the season to see more of that gorgeous, blue-eyed angel. :)
In a way I'm glad I watched Season 4 first. In my opinion, the writing, the story arc, and the performances were very, very strong that year. I like Season 1, but I think the show took a while to find its feet.
Does anyone have any Supernatural merchandise? I bought a replica of Dean's amulet and wear it all the time (it's my good luck charm). When I have more money, I think I'm going to raid Cafepress for Supernatural t-shirts. And I want a Misha Collins sweater...
I like both, because they were two very different versions of the one characters, which I think worked for the storyline. I just like Katie's a little better because her Ruby was a little more ambiguous. Genevieve's Ruby was pretty obvious that she was only helping them for her own agenda, but Katie's you weren't always sure which side she was on. Now whether that was because of the way the character was written (trying to make her more likable in the fourth season or something), or the talent of the actresses, I don't know... but that's just me.
I liked Katie's Ruby better. But that's mostly because I loved her character and I decided on a theory that while Katie was playing her, she was legitimately trying to help Sam and Dean, but in that period before she came back as Genevieve she was "convinced" to switch sides. And that is my headcanon.
Ah, Supernatural, my one true love <3 I've been watching it since 2005 and ugh, I can never get enough of it. Although, there are certain story-lines that I'm tired of, but I'll never give up on it because of that :3
If you've only just started, you're so not prepared. :)
I got into the show when it first came on TV, but for some unknown reason--probably because Australian TV can be incredibly unreliable--I stopped watching it. My sister and her boyfriend then started watching it from the beginning at the start of the year and I got back into it.
I love it so much. I'll admit I liked the earlier seasons, especially season one, but I understand they had to go the way they did, otherwise it just would've gotten far too repetitive having just a 'monster of the week' every week. But it's refreshing that the most recent episode went back to a monster of the week, just to break up the storyline for a bit. I like Cas because he really brought something to the show, but I'm not a fangirl. To be honest, I think it'll be nice to get away from the heaven and angels storyline for a bit. It was beginning to get a little too much for me.
But I'll never stop watching. I mean, Dean. *drools*
Supernatural
I'm such a nerd. XD
