Supernatural

I'm such a nerd. XD

I seriously JUST started watching this series like, three weeks ago, and I'm already totally obsessed. >.>

*ahem* My goal is to watch the entire series BEFORE NaNo starts, so it doesn't distract me while I'm trying to novel. I'm up to Season Three, and about three episodes in. Woo!

Also I promised myself that if I get my actual NaNo novel done early, I'm gonna give fanfiction a try.

I know there are more of you guys out there. I've totally seen y'all on ff.net! :D

I caught an episode during season 5 and fell in love. I went back and watched all the previous seasons in a month (my goal was tofinish them before the winter hiatus ended). Season 2 is my favorite, probably followed by season 5. I love both brothers, but I'm a "Dean girl," as they say. I adore Castiel as well.

(Sort of vague season 7 spoilers here) So far I've really liked Season 7, although I refuse to believe that the Leviathan were telling the truth about Cas. At the moment I'm excited for this week's episode.

I've been watching since it first aired. I wrote fanfiction for it for many years and it's part of the reason why I'm still writing. I love this show with all my heart and even though last season, IMO, was a bit rough and tumble, Season 7 is shaping up to be quite great.

I love all the characters, but I definitely have a soft spot for Cas and Dean -draws hearts-

I agree with you completely regarding Cas. He's been around for three seasons now and was basically the completion of the Supernatural A-Team. As much as he went haywire at the end of Season 6, if that was actually his death, then it was downright insulting. So I refuse to believe he is gone, just knocked out in his own vessel. He'll be back and Dean will give him his coat and all will be rainbows and sunshine and pie again :)

I started watching SPN at the beginning of the summer. Watched season 1 to 6 in over a month. I'm obsessed.

Personally, I'm not liking how things are going at the moment with season 7 mainly because I adore Castiel (he's kind of the reason why I started watching the show, but then again, who am I to say? And because all of my favorites have died..Balthazar, Gabriel, Jo, Ash and poor Adam needs to be given a ticket out of the pit.)

So, yeah, I put off watching this show for so long but now it is the air I need to breathe. The Winchesters are life ruiners.

I'm now about halfway through Season 3, so I think I need to watch a bit more per day to get done before NaNo begins. I totally have to say my favorite character is Sam (or maybe I just love seeing him get whumped...Is that healthy? Probably not, huh?)

From the more recent clips n' stuff I've seen, I also ADORE Castiel, and I also refuse to think he's dead. He's SUCH an amazing character.

I totally agree, Castiel's a wonderful character, I've loved him since Lazarus Rising. I think he's in for some kind of redemption arc this season because the backlash of killing him off would be insane, especially if the show's renewed for another year.

Dean's my favorite character but I definitely have a soft spot for Sam. Though Soulless!Sam was such a cool twist on the character and Jared Padalecki's performance was so chilling. That little smirk... gives me chills every time.

Also, CONGRATS to Jared and Gen! They're going to be such great parents!

Re: Supernatural

I'm glad that the show has gotten back to being just the brothers and Bobby. I never got into Castiel. The way he was written (fish out of water) just didn't match his background. He wasn't a newborn angel, he was ancient. He was there when that little grey fish crawled out of the ocean, so seeing him act like everything human was new to him creeped me out. All of the other angels had personalities; why didn't Castiel? Misha even said so in a recent interview.

I like Misha Collins, and I always felt Castiel could have been so much more. I always enjoyed seeing him in the gag reels. He was the best thing (as Misha Collins) in The French Mistake, and I loved Future!Cas in The End. Regular Cas? Not so much.

I wish Misha all the best with Divine and his new baby.

My best friend is obsessed (honest to God, OBSESSED in a way I can't explain) with Supernatural. She got me watching it a few weeks ago and now I'm starting to get really into it too. She had a Season 7 premiere party and invited me, so I've been spoiled for the new season even though I've only seen Season 1 so far. Oh, well, I have been watching Season 7 religiously every Firday now, too xP

Spoilers Season 7?
I never really knew Cas very well since I hadn't watched any of the episodes after he had been introduced, but my friend was in tears during the season opener. She loves Cas. So much. She doesn't think he's really dead. She explained it all to me, and told me her theory as to how he's still alive, and she convinced me xP

Re: Supernatural

I've been watching SPN since the first season. I loved it back then and continued to rave about it for the first few seasons, and recommended it to anyone who'd listen long enough. But now...

I feel like it's just become so heavy. I get that they had to change things and have more of an arc to keep things fresh, but in the first season it was like, "Find dad," and while that was obviously a big thing for Sam and Dean, it didn't have quite the emotional baggage of, "Save the world...again." Seriously, they haven't had time to catch their breath in like three seasons now, and it honestly just depresses me! If it's not Sam going dark it's Dean being in hell, if it's not Lillith threatening the world then it's the angels. If I were them I'd probably have given up long ago and just gone for suicide. I'm sure someone told them once that they were pretty much guaranteed to get into heaven now, so they might as well.

But I still watch it, because I do still love the characters (Sam, Dean, Bobby and Cas (and I hope he returns) and I love their comedy moments. It's also the only thing that can consistently make me jump, even when I know what's coming. I just wish it was a little less morose these days, y'know?

Love Supernatural, been watching it since it's itty bitty baby days and am a huge Dean fangirl (sorry Sammy, but emo's just don't do it for me ;D) and not to come with spoilers, but when I thought we'd lost Bobby too I nearly cried. As if losing Cas and Ellen wasn't bad enough.

I agree! I mean, all those dramatic storylines are creative and interesting and all, but there slowly a bit over the top. I liked it in the first season, Dean and Sam had their secret identities and their Hunter-friends. Now they're always alone and have to save the world. I also miss the diversity of monsters and how the enemy changed every week.

Re: Supernatural

If you've only just started, you're so not prepared. :)

I got into the show when it first came on TV, but for some unknown reason--probably because Australian TV can be incredibly unreliable--I stopped watching it. My sister and her boyfriend then started watching it from the beginning at the start of the year and I got back into it.

I love it so much. I'll admit I liked the earlier seasons, especially season one, but I understand they had to go the way they did, otherwise it just would've gotten far too repetitive having just a 'monster of the week' every week. But it's refreshing that the most recent episode went back to a monster of the week, just to break up the storyline for a bit. I like Cas because he really brought something to the show, but I'm not a fangirl. To be honest, I think it'll be nice to get away from the heaven and angels storyline for a bit. It was beginning to get a little too much for me.

But I'll never stop watching. I mean, Dean. *drools*

I like Genevieve's Ruby better, but I know I'm in the minority. I first watched the show backasswards starting with Season 4, so she was my first Ruby and has always remained my favorite.

As for Season 1 eps: the Pilot (I get so freaking sentimental rewatching it), Scarecrow, Faith, Asylum, any of the episodes with Jeffrey Dean Morgan...

I was a major SPN fan in the first three seasons. But when they brought in Castiel, and New Ruby and ditched Bela, I lost interest. My big problem is that I watched the show for the family dynamic. I loved the Winchesters, I loved Papa and I loved that interaction. When it got turned into this Big Huge Drama with angels and everything ... it ceased being the show I love.

It's just a difference of opinion between then and now, but I'm no longer interested. I still love those boys, I even love Misha Collins; I just don't like the gimmicky thing it's become instead of my sweet little family show.

I think I was bored one day, on the internet looking for something to do. I was faintly familiar with the premise of the show so I just decided to randomly dive right in to see if it was any good. Since Lazarus Rising ended with Castiel's very impressive entrance, I just had to finish watching the season to see more of that gorgeous, blue-eyed angel. :)

In a way I'm glad I watched Season 4 first. In my opinion, the writing, the story arc, and the performances were very, very strong that year. I like Season 1, but I think the show took a while to find its feet.

Does anyone have any Supernatural merchandise? I bought a replica of Dean's amulet and wear it all the time (it's my good luck charm). When I have more money, I think I'm going to raid Cafepress for Supernatural t-shirts. And I want a Misha Collins sweater...

Just to say hi to all new SPN Nano fans, hi!! I have watched the show obsessively since the pilot episode. It is definitely the most inventive, creative, well executed show on television right now. Although I have to say that season 7 has been very....mediocre for me so far. I know we have a lot of the season to go but its not really inspiring me in many of the ways it used to.

Maybe my expectations were too high lol. Personally I thought season 6 was by far the absolute best season yet. The way they took all those multitude of storylines that seemingly didn't make any cohesive sense and brought them all together and made it make sense was brilliant.

However, I have one theory about season 7 that I am dying to see if it pans out!

I started watching Supernatural around August time last year, and managed to watch all five seasons that had been aired in about three weeks. Since then I've started going to the SPN conventions here in the UK (3 so far + 1 coming up the weekend before NaNo starts) and made the trip to Vancouver to do VanCon and go location hunting. =D

Last year I started an SPN fic for NaNo but ran out of steam for it, but may well come back to it once this year's NaNo is done with. =D

Favourite Characters? Chuck and Becky! The ultimate geeky fan-couple. =D Plus, Rob Benedict is the nicest guy on the planet. =D

Ok, my theory...which will probably sound crazy but anyone who knows me knows that my crazy ideas are usually right. For example, at the end of season 4, I said that Sam was going to be a vessel for Lucifer...sounded crazy, but was right lol.

My theory, they will need to find the real God in order to control or defeat the Leviathons. I mean God put them in Purgatory to keep them from slaughtering everyone, so it makes sense that only God could contain them this time. And I believe that we have already met God.....because God is Death. I mean, we know that God is "hiding out" on earth somewhere. And Death shows an uncanny interest in things he shouldn't care about, like telling Dean to "follow the souls". And Death did say that he is older than God...well what if that just means that before he was called God, he was called Death.

It's possible! I feel like they might have already done the "find God" storyline though. The Leviathans are pretty interesting too. I'm intrigued by this "boss" they keep talking about.

I am desperate to see what they do with this whole Amy situation. Friend of mine thinks they won't mention her again, which will really annoy me to be honest. There's so much scope for ~intense brotherly conflict.

Also I am in total denial about Cas' death. Such an anticlimax! There's got to be more to it than that... and I'm not even one of the crazy Cas-obsessed girls.

Re: Supernatural

I have a plot bunny for Supernatural hard core fans who have seen it all and know the characters better than I do. I've seen the occasional episode, and it IS on my to do list, but I haven't a lot of TV time and I have a LONG to do list. :D You and the Fringe heads would be fighting for my time. Hee.

Anyhow, I was in Vancouver, in a town where they had filmed in the past (Ft. Langly. Amazing town, and they were filming Once Upon a Time when I was there.) I had a dream, and I'm offering it to you guys with conditions. ^_^

I was Dean in the dream. So Dean is the primary focus.
I was looking for Sam. He was in town, had come into town with me, but we were separated. I don't know why. It wasn't an emergency.
I came across two guys that looked exactly like Sam and Dean. The one that looked like me (Dean) was panicking. He explained he had picked me and Dean because we had a reputation and nobody would bother us. When I looked in the mirror, I could see that they were totally different men, about the same age and all. I realized they were spirits or demons or something, but they were hiding for some reason.
That's when Sam came along, and he wanted to destroy them because he could tell they were demons. I stopped him and told him that we were going to help them because they were victims or "on our side" somehow.

Those are the parameters of the story that I have, I would love to see it respectfully translated into plot, no slash or BDSM or H/C or any of the extremes beyond what would actually appear in the show. And I'd love to see the end results. I'll save them for when I've caught up so I won't be spoiled.

TY! Give the baby a good home, or several!

Re: Supernatural

I like both, because they were two very different versions of the one characters, which I think worked for the storyline. I just like Katie's a little better because her Ruby was a little more ambiguous. Genevieve's Ruby was pretty obvious that she was only helping them for her own agenda, but Katie's you weren't always sure which side she was on. Now whether that was because of the way the character was written (trying to make her more likable in the fourth season or something), or the talent of the actresses, I don't know... but that's just me.

Um, how excited is everybody else for Cordelia & Spike's reunion tonight?
I'm beyond tickled to have the show that started me on a supernatural kick (with Charmed) mesh into this one.

And I'm the same I was disappointed by s6 but have been pleasantly surprised by this season. I like that Sera's trying to bring back the two boys, crappy motels, monster of the week again. But I didn't like that it came with the expense of Cas and Bobby's house. I mean, really was that necessary? The boys deserved to have a home base. First the roadhouse, now Bobby's. I'm with the previous poster - sometimes the amount of angst heaped on them is over the top. They deserve a few breaks every now and again.

Re: Supernatural

Soooo, I'm totes obsessed with Supernatural, however, I'm a little frustrated. I /just/ finished season 5 (like, three days ago), and I'm like, "THIS ENDING IS SO INCREDIBLY PERFECT. WHY, OH WHY, ARE THERE MORE SEASONS AFTER THIS???". Seriously, it tied a lot of things up, was the end of the apocalypse storyline, which is sort of really hard to top, tbh, and was cliff-hangery (not a word) to have you end on a suspensful not, but not so much so that you must know what happens next, plus it was just... well written. Now, I'm saying all this /before/ seeing season 6, but I know a lot about it, and have heard the critics of it, and I'm kinda like =/ .

I'm just worried that it'll be like X-Files season 9 (sorry if absolutely no one understands the reference), and I just have to pretend like it doesn't exist. From a fan point of view, I'm glad there's more to watch, but as an appreciator of fine writing, I'm sort of bummed taht they didn't say, "Oh, hey, this is a good ending. Let's be wise and end here."

Regardless, the show if fantabulous.

And those are my thoughts. This has been a post.

I'm a new fan. I was adamantly against it for years (personal reasons) but after realizing that there is nothing else to watch on TV I caved and rented the first season. Been tearing through episodes ever since. I will admit that a large portion of that has to do with my newfound love for Castiel. And now I hear he's dead... This displeases me. I'm still on Season 6 (though I did break down and watch the new episode today. Cordelia! Spike! So excited) so I'm not quite up to date though.

Don't know if I have a favorite season yet but Yellow Fever is probably one of my favorite episodes. I love when the show is funny without being goofy over the top. Humor is one of the best things it's got going, in my opinion. I honestly get tired of shows when they start taking themselves too serious. It's fun to mix it up once in a while.

I thought it was cute? Is that the right word? XD; It was a nice break from the epic, ongoing angst like whoa.

That nice save at the end from uh...guy witch Stark (I forgot the first name) was awesome. I wasn't expecting that. Too bad those guys were probably only in that episode, because I liked them.

Also, HOLY. CRAP. I am soooo excited for next week's episode! It looks AWESOME.

I wasn't let down but I'm a long time Buffy fan. Seeing James Marsters and Charisma Carpenter on a show together again gave me fangirl screams like you wouldn't believe. But I thought James Marster's character (Stark) was pretty darn awesome anyway. Totally apart from the Buffy love. I kind of hope he shows up again since he left on a relatively positive note. And he saved the boys. That gets bonus points.

Anyway I thought it was a nice mood lightener. They can use that every once in a while and so can I.

Yaaaay for SPN love!

I've been a fan since two summers ago, and I've come to realize something: This show has made me its b*tch. I loved every character and every episode and every season, even when it's something ridiculous like Bugs where I KNOW it wasn't exactly quality. I just can't hate anything it does. Like, Castiel has been my favourite character since 4x16 and I can't even stay mad at the show for what happened to him. I don't even know.

So, with that said... the last three episodes have been kinda 'meh' for me. I thought that the premier knocked it out of the park (haters gonna hate, Sera Gamble writes a mean episode and always has) and 7x02 carried the momentum over, but since then it's just kinda rolling to a stop. I think 7x06 looks like it's gonna pick up again, but I'm worried that the return to the 'just two brothers' thing isn't going to work the way it did three seasons ago.

But then there is a few episodes I have seen that are SO GREAT, it's nothing like anything I ever have seen in a tv-series before. But I don't really get it because I'm not involved with the plot. I asked some facebook-pals if it was worth watching the whole series and they said "Yeees, do it!!" So today I started watching it from scratch, and I'm more hooked than I thought I would be. Can't wait for the stuff I know will come up, but I will see each episode to be sure I won't miss a thing.

I have been watching Supernatural since season one and have loved all of it. I'm one of those fans that is very wary of new main characters, and the only two I've really take to have been Bobby and Castiel. Losing Cas (supposedly) was hard but I saw it coming, and I can see why they did it. If Cas could just save them all the time, the tension would be gone, and the brothers need some time together to get us back into the "two brothers fighting evil" theme, which I love. While I do enjoy the plot, monster of the week episodes are so fun, and the first couple seasons are still my favorites.

Also, the last episode was awesome, just throwing that out there.

I jumped on the Supernatural bandwagon the summer between third and fourth season. I adored the first 3 seasons, liked fourth season quite a bit, but 6th season was rough for me. Am falling back in love with 7th season, we're back to the family business.

Am a total Sam fan, even if Dean is the character I identify with, so I love 'em both in their own way ;) I even loved having Cas around, for the funny lines if nothing else. I loved Katie!Ruby's ambiguity, and plain old bad-ass'ness, didn't like Gen's Ruby that much. I miss JDM's John :( Love the cast on this show, they're so awesome.

It's Nov 4th and while I started wiring a SPN fanfic for NaNo, I really don't like how it's going, so I'm probably gonna change it up for something else. It's not too late..I hope.

Granted I think Misha Collins is adorable but totally apart from that I love the character of Castiel and they need to bring him back for a nice hearty dose of ass kicking/redemption. And if he just happens to bring a few other angels with him, then I'd be perfectly fine with that too. Sam and Dean could use some friends that don't die so easily. XD

But that's mostly because I loved her character and I decided on a theory that while Katie was playing her, she was legitimately trying to help Sam and Dean, but in that period before she came back as Genevieve she was "convinced" to switch sides. And that is my headcanon.

This made me really happy to read; seems like an unpopular opinion these days to actually miss having angels around. I get why the writers decided to move beyond them, but despite the fact that the execution wasn't always perfect, I loved that entire arc. It was like, here are the most powerful beings that you've ever seen with an agenda that you do NOT want to get in the way of... but underneath that they have just as many family issues and are just as flawed as any human.

And I support the pony/guinea pig ideas. I was actually thinking just today that everyone on this show needs a pet really badly.

I started watching Supernatural after my best friend got me obsessed. I'm a Dean Girl, but am completely in love with Cas and WANT HIM BACK! :) I was horrified when Gabriel died and want him back as well.... I'm in England, so technically I'm still on series 6. But, my dear friends, that is what the Internet it for >:)
[/quote]

Me too! My best friend got me hooked just before Season two started. I was visiting her and we got snowed in and watched the entire first season and I've been hooked ever since. I'm definitely a Dean Girl as well.

As a fan of folklore and mythology of all sorts I was a little miffed about the "our god is better than your god" aspect of having the angel/apocalypse storyline. However as a fan of characters, I really liked all the angels, even the jerky ones. They made interesting allies and adversaries with different characteristics than the monster of the week and demon types. Plus that story arc produced (or enhanced in Gabriel's case) my favorite characters on the show. Castiel and Balthazar were awesome. I'm still in denial about both of their deaths. No burnt out wing imprint on the ground, no death. That's all I'm saying.

I freaking LOVED that show! ... RIGHT up until the very last scene of Season 5. Which, for me at least, completely belittles the final confrontation where... well, I don't wanna spoil it, but those of you who have seen it will know what I am talking about.

Don't get me wrong... I've ordered Season 6 from my library and I will be watching it, but... I think that it should have ended with Season 5.

I'm writing a Supernatural fic for NaNo! It's an AU version of Season 5. Sort of an post-apocafic with a twist!
I've been a HUGE fan since day one, and it's the first fandom I've ever written anything for. My first ever fic was a 32k fic for the BIG BANG challenge on Livejournal. It was the most fun I've ever had writing and I've been hooked ever since.

I've always been split on whether it should've ended at season five or not... because I'm totally thrilled that we're still getting the show and I wouldn't have wanted it to end, but 5x22 would have made a fabulous series finale, IMO. I mean... it was called SWAN SONG, for goodness sake, and Chuck's voice over at the end with the whole 'they chose family' thing and all the 'endings are hard' stuff... and all those montages! If they had, y'know... *not* included that last shot, but somehow implied that the situation for that particular character wasn't as terrible as it seemed, then I would have been okay with that.

Also writing a Supernatural fanfic for NaNo!
It's erotic horror. And it's not wincest. Actually, it's het. (... Crazy girl say what?!?)

That said - Season 6 was great on an episode by episode basis, but all together it did not make a bit of sense. I could drive a semi or two through all of the *obvious* plot holes. But the episodes!!!
I've loved season 7 so far too, though I can't wait to get Cas back. I'm a Sam girl, a Lucifer girl, and a Cas girl, so actually, some more halluciantions would be great too, but if I can just get my Cas back it would be amazing. The only episode I haven't liked so far is the one with Spike and Cordelia. Am I the only one who felt like both of the boys seemed out of character, and the humor fell a bit flat? I did not like that episode AT ALL, (especially because of that thing with Dean and Amy the episode before - and then they let two witches go without doing anything? Huh? Oh wait, they gave them marriage counseling... *confused face* What??? No gun? Rocksalt? Hunting people, saving things? ... or was that: saving people, hunting things?)

As a matter of fact I was working on a SPN fic right before nano started and when I can't get a scene down for the Nano I'm writing I switch back to the SPN fic. I want Cass back! Badly! Super badly. Jasmine I agree i hated that episode more than any other in all seven seasons. I'm a Dean Girl and a Cass girl. I had a theory about Cass that involved the Nov 4 episode but it wasn't very popular. LOL

Re: Supernatural

Go for it mixed! And thanks Jasmine! As for my theory, I'll post what I did elsewhere.... (They never shoulda asked what I thought. Don't ask for an answer if you don't want it, I always say.)

"Okay I have GOT to say this. The spoon bender... didn't bend the spoon. He was across the room if not out of it altogether. The spoon bent AFTER he walked away. When the spoon bender died they made it apparent that he bent the fork he was holding with his thumb. He was a fake! Then, at the end of the episode Dean mentions not trusting anyone since Cass, directly after which Sam asks (of the spoon bender) "I still want to know how he bent my spoon." He didn't, he couldn't have. CASS bent the spoon!!

It's a classic writer's trick, you want to foreshadow something you put a mention of two seemingly unrelated things close together. That was CASS!

Of course, I was inundated with responses pointing out the fact that Sam used to have psychic abilities due to Azazel's blood but, he hasn't exhibited them in a while and when he did exhibit telekinesis, he knew he was doing it. It wasn't out of the blue. So I don't see why it would be now. As things stand I believe it's Cass trying to communicate.

Again I reiterate... that was Castiel! That's my story and I'm stickin' to it! I won't believe Cass is dead until I see charred wings.

Re: Supernatural

Oooh, I like that theory. I'm with you on Castiel not being dead either way. It would be ridiculous if they killed him by melting. Off camera. With no charred outline. A soggy trenchcoat does not a death make. I mean they didn't even have his tie. (: He already bit it twice and has been brought back. It would be terrible writing if they left it as angelic death by melting. Not that the writers haven't left some characters in unsatisfying situations (ahem, Adam).

As far as Sam having latent psychic abilities, the only time he ever went telekinetic he was under some serious stress. I doubt he could have "accidentally" bent the spoon just because. In other words, I'll jump on the Castiel spoon wagon with you. I hope they give another hint or two soon. I'm enjoying most of season 7 but they should really have established a proper story arc by now.

Re: Supernatural

Re: Castiel being dead or not, Sera Gamble said this in an interview right after 7x01. (Refers specifically to the Leviathan saying he was dead).

"You should never take anyone for their word that anyone is dead, especially when they're trying to get you out of their way. You certainly should not just ring the final bell on seeing Cas or Misha just because you don't know what episode he'll show up in next."

So I'm clinging desperately to that statement.

Personally, I think he'll show up again as the boss of the Levithians, but now the spoon thing makes so much sense! All I could think of was the episode where Sam finally told Dean he saw things, and Dean held up a spoon and told him to bend it ;) I love the idea that Cas might have been behind that!
Either way, he's totally not dead until we get a body, at the very least.

(Hmm... does that make us "spoonbenders", as compared to the popular "tin-hatters"?)

I agree with this. Although I acknowledge that some would argue with me, I don't believe that it's the writers' intentions for any of the guys to have romantic and/or sexual feelings for each other, so I don't get serious about any ships if they're not. Doesn't mean that I don't casually enjoy the art/fics/vids that this uncommonly talented fandom puts out for the pairings, I just don't actively ship anyone - slash OR het - while I'm watching that I honestly don't believe will ever happen.
TBH the friend/family relationships are always more precious to me than the romantic ones anyway.

I think the writers like to tease the fangirls (and boys) about the Dean/Castiel thing especially but, much as I enjoy the occasional bit of slash, I can't really see Castiel acting in a sexual way. He IS totally in love with Dean though. I'm just not sure what kind of love to call it. XD

I do prefer the family/friend relationships on the show though. A lot of the romantic overtones have crashed and burned with me. And with them. None of the characters can keep a significant other. They all end up dead. Or leave if they're lucky.

I've been crazy about Supernatural for a year or so now, and it's my favorite series (that's still airing, that is!)
Castiel is my favourite character, although I hate what they did to him throughout the entirety of season 6, which was a big bummer season all over tbh. Other than that, I adore Bobby (both the character and the actor!)

And I'm amused and glad to see so many SPN fans doing NaNo! :D

Same. I don't ship any het pairings either, because they always just seemed...odd to me. I don't have a very good way to describe it, but I was never convinced by any of the romantic relationships that were set up, which is probably why they ended so fast.

I read that pretty much every female character was killed due to poor fan response and that Castiel was made a series regular due to positive fan response. I was amused.

Re: Supernatural

Honestly, I don't think a lot of the female characters are written well if they're intending them as romantic interests for Sam or Dean. Well, Sam hardly has any unless you count the random women and Ruby (I liked original, but not new). Jo seemed more sisterly than anything. Lisa was okay with me but they made that situation pretty much impossible from the start. Of them all, I think Bela was probably my favorite (unpopular I know). At least she seemed romantically interested and could hold her own. Some of the time. Either way Meg is still floating around somewhere. I guess that's something.

Maybe they just suck at writing female characters.

Re: Supernatural

I think, a lot of times, it's how they handle the characters' interest in each other as well. Because almost every other character only has a few episodes on the show at most, if they're supposed to get with one of the guys then it all has to happen pretty quickly. We've never really gotten to watch a relationship develop; the closest it's come to this was probably Dean/Jo but even then she was hitting on him by the end of their first episode together, so... yeah. I mean, I think that they're all relatively well developed characters on their own, but I rarely ever ~feel a pairing.

I'm a Dean and Cass girl. Not together. i don't get the appeal of slash fiction with obviously straight characters, much less the appeal of Wincest. They're BROTHERS! But to each their own. They are fictional characters so, hey, have fun!

the fic I was writing before this one (which I shall finish after nano) has a Cass, Sam and Dean in it and an OC that's a match for Dean (it doesn't last that's just the status quo with the show so it MUST end) but no slash. Oddly, Cass has taken over as the main focus in the story and there's a definite relationship with the OC, though it's more a family one. Not romantic in anyway. I just can't see Cass that way.

And hey, when Sam goes in the warehouse in this car, maybe he really wasn't the one driving. What if he was psychic-ly driving the car ? Maybe Lucifer is channelling on the psychic brain side of Sam.

Re: Supernatural

Just for the sake of argument, Dean/Castiel has the potential to not be slashy at all. If you think about angels, they're basically genderless so despite the body he's in, on Castiel's side it's still neutral. Makes it a little crazy with the logic. But as a character he's at least 90% asexual so I couldn't see anything happening anyway. I give him 10% because there is still the influence of Jimmy. If he can make him crave red meat, no doubt he could do other things too. Actually I'd like to see him do that (not in a sexual way, I mean.)

Poor Jimmy. Too bad we couldn't get both of them. I think The Rapture is the episode that made me really love Castiel's character (and hate him too.) Misha has done a great job with all the versions of his character so far. I hope he shows up in Leviathan form again. They were... interesting. Plus I love the drama of Sam and Dean having to fight (the body of) their friend. Again I say, poor Jimmy.

I'd love to read your story though. I haven't read fanfiction in years but I got back into the habit for Supernatural. Not good for productivity but very entertaining.

Well thank you very much! When I get it done and up I'll be glad to share! I never post a story unless I've completed it. I have this thing about unfinished stories.

As for the Dean/Castiel thing, from that point of view I think you have it spot on! Though, after that trip to the brothel and the incident with the Pizza Man, uh, I dunno about genderless, not while in a vessel anyway! LOL But, in essence (true form) I agree, they are genderless. So I really like where you went with that notion.

It would be nice to see Jimmy again. I liked Jimmy. Brave man. I actually cried at the words. "Take me, please". He broke my heart. Words from that episode inspired the crossover I'm doing. "You won't die...or age. If this last year was painful was painful for you, picture a hundred, a thousand more like it." Misha's a great actor.

But, I hope they don't bring him back as the Levi boss. I just want Cass back as Cass the little nerd angel.

When I first read the news, I might have flailed and clapped and cheered and maybe run around a little bit. Maybe. But then I quickly dissolved into hand-wringing because I know how much they like to make us *suffer*. So personally I'm going into it not actually expecting Castiel - at least not this time around - so I'm not too disappointed. And if he is there, then it's a nice surprise, plus any appearance of Jimmy's likeness would probably force the guys to talk about Castiel for more than the one line per episode that he maybe gets if we're lucky.

I'm glad we have a little more hope now, though, because I was reading my new issue of the SPN magazine last night which contained a nice article paying tribute to some of the characters who've died, and it was surprisingly upsetting to see Cass grouped in with them even though I saw it coming.

I'm reviving the thread since I believe there's a new episode coming this week. Right? Am I right? I think I'm right.

I'm super interested to see where they go with the rest of this season. Misha's not slated to reappear until episode 17 so that blows half of my theories out of the water. That leaves crazy Sam drama maybe? Or some more dealings with Crowley? The Leviathans have been awfully patient about killing the boys lately. Honestly, I got nothing. Anyone care to speculate with me?

I'm thinking that it'll likely be similar to the first ten episodes (a mix of MOTW and Leviathans) for the next few, except they'll be kicked into a higher gear after whatever happens with Bobby. They also have to interpret Bobby's message, so there's that.

Personally I'm just waiting for Sam to lose it... I'd love to believe that he's as okay as he says he is, but when are they EVER that lucky...

But maybe I hadn't liked it that much if it wasn't for all the fanservice and self-distance. Dean and Castiel are my favorite characters!

I actually interpreted the beer thing the way that Sam did - that Dean didn't even realize he had finished it. The references to his constant drinking have been getting more and more blatant, so I assumed that this was not only another one, but a sign that it's getting worse. Of course, on this show, the real explanation could literally be anything.

(Translation: Whatever the explanation is for the bending spoon is now applicable to this situation as well... ;) lol)

I went back and watched the show an extra time (darn free trial of hulu and its addictive qualities). Dean didn't drink the beer. He was talking to Sam the whole time with the full bottle in one hand just off camera. And I'm amused with myself that I'm taking this mysterious beer drinker so seriously but I have some definite theories as to what happened.

These question mark moments they've been leaving around are kind of fun. It's like I can feel something coming even if i can't see what it is. Of course I know what I want them to mean...

At the time I thought it was supposed to be, like, Dean THINKS there's still a full beer sitting there and that's what we see and then in reality it's already gone, moral of the story is that Dean needs help... but upon further thought, I was like... 'Wait. This is Supernatural.' So now I'm entertaining the hope that they have a ghost friend lurking about (and I don't even care WHO) because dammit, let me dream, show!

Still hoping that they'll eventually give Dean some help for the issues that he's had piling up since season one, but frankly, when there's even the smallest reference to a dead character I CLING TO IT.

I'm still in the midst of my Supernatural binge. I started writing a fanfic to squeeze in between seasons 5 and 6. Who knew I'd end up referencing so many different episodes to do it? But it helps me pass the time until the next episode. Haven't been this in to a show since Buffy. It's kinda nice. Though I may gain twenty pounds from all the pie I've been eating. Damn you, Dean.

Loooooove Supernatural. Brilliant cast, wonderful characters, and generally the right mixture of emotion, action, and humour. These days they've really been bringing the sadness and guilt and death in spades, though...I don't know how I feel about season seven yet. Seasons four, five, and six are the best, I think. Castiel was such a great addition to the Dean-Sam-Bobby dynamic. He added a lot to the show, and the fact that Misha Collins is insanely gorgeous and is just a perfect human being didn't hurt at all. But cue season seven, and cue my hysterical sobbing.

Sera Gamble, you broke my heart. TWICE.

Here's mine: BOBBY! I know it's you, Bobby. XD I can't help watching any liquor they drink with great interest now. #1 because, damn, Dean's drinking a lot still, and #2 because I'm waiting for it to mysteriously disappear again. But I'm glad Dean might be catching on. We all know it's you, Bobby. Manifest yourself or something.

Now back to counting down for episode 17... I want all of them back together again. It makes me sad when the boys are sad.

Re: Supernatural

... after actually making it up to the first half of season 6 I dare say that if it wasn't for the characters, I wouldn't put up with this crap christian bullsh... storyline anymore. I mean, seriously, that thing about the apocalypse was bad enough. Then Luzifer actually being stronger than the other gods? Odin? You can't just kill Odin like that. He's like THE magic guy. He's THE druid. Well, of course Lugus (somewhat celtic-mythology; he's a bit like Odin, just with a happy ending) is much more awesome ... well, he had no appearance in the series. Lucky guy.
I hope it gets better. /:
I still like Cas though. It's not his fault that the powers in the Supernatural universe are absolutely unbalanced.
(From what I gather, the most powerful character is supposed to be the horseman of death, right? ... But then again, he was controlled by Luzifer, lol. Btw, I have no idea how you people spell Luzifer in English so I stick to my petty german spelling.)

Re: Supernatural

I did more of a drill to get through the seasons. Non-stop watched the show for a month or so, it was during the start of the school year too. I would wake up and try to squeeze and episode in before I left, go to school, come home and start watching again. I tried to get my mom to watch it with me but she watched an episode every 1 or 2 days and I was in a rush to catch up before season 7 XD So then, By like mid s3- mid s4 I had to take a break cuz I was getting too into the show that I was like feeling REALLY bad for the characters and I just needed a breather.

Now I'm all caught up except for season 7. I totally can't watch the last season. After what happened with Cas (trying to avoid giving spoilers), I just don't know what to do XD

I'm a huge Cas!girl/Minion

I mean of course I care about Dean and Sam and everyone else but something about Cas on the show just kept some of the comedy light and he was the most interactive character cuz he's the one the writers use to communicate with us but at the same time he's stays in-character! And Misha is a great addition to the show.

That whole situation with Bobby was sad too, I can't handle missing both of them SO much. I heard about it but I can't bring myself to watch it. I DID see the Jody episode, I swear I think she may be the SPN's God. LOL it's a joke but you know, it could happen. xD

BTW: Earthsick, it's Lucifer <3 but Luzifer is close enough for others to understand.

Yep. Saw the picture. Yep. Freaking out. Amnesia Castiel perhaps? I was doing the fangirl dance as soon as I saw that. And then I was laughing my ass off when I saw the picture of his stocking foot in the bath. Holy random. Anyway, I'm super excited for episode 17. It certainly seems like it's going to be a good one. I hope. I pray. And wait impatiently. It's gotta be good news. It's just gotta. If it's not, I may cry real tears.

This week's episode looks pretty good too. Can't beat creepy clowns. Much as I whine about the monster of the week episodes they've been a lot better than the Leviathan-centric ones. I think the writers really missed the boat on the big mouths. Just over halfway through the season and I still have no idea what their deal is. Becoming evil president? How... terrifying?

I'm wondering if that was for the next two episodes (since there's a mini-hiatus, sometimes they do that...) or if he'll show up in, like, the last few seconds of 7x16. Either way I'm seriously pumped. And is it just me, or is that Meg standing beside Dean? I heard rumours that she'd be back but never heard whether it was true.

And I couldn't stop laughing at Lucifer in this one. '... he said shut up to me!' Absolutely fabulous.

Re: Supernatural

I guess that's what confuses me. The hallucinations were the symptom, not the problem. It was a soul based problem, Cas doesn't have a soul, and Sam still seems to remember his Hell time so apparently it just... doesn't bother him anymore? It struck me as odd. I liked the idea behind it but I thought the execution was a little wonky. Plus, in the grand scheme of things, a crazy angel is a much bigger problem than a crazy human. Brings up all kinds of issues.

Either way, I still loved the episode. I won't lie. I was really hoping for fallen angel Cas but amnesia Cas was good too. Have big plans to go back and rewatch the episode since I didn't catch the beginning. I'm gonna miss imaginary Lucifer. It was so much fun to watch him mess with Sam.

Re: Supernatural

Looking back, the logistics are a bit confusing (because Sam's crazy stemmed from the damage to his soul and angels don't HAVE souls...) but apart from that, SO MUCH LOVE FOR THIS EP.

Mark Pellegrino is flawless. I have to say he's one of my favourite actors, and this episode had such great lines for him... 'Narcissistic Personality Disorder? Now this one I might have...'

I think that I laugh at about 99% of what comes out of Meg's mouth, whether it's the snarky lines themselves or just the perfectly sleazy delivery. Even though her motives at the end are likely pretty shifty, I really want to think that some tiny part of her is genuinely helping because for some reason, I have a serious soft spot for evil characters going good in any capacity (yeah, I know I'm a sap).

Everything else is just a jumbled up pile of feelings and internal tears. So much love for Sam helping Marin and covering for her afterward, and for Dean defending Cas and Cas saying he didn't deserve it and then what he did at the end - I was wanting him to help/redeem himself but I dared not hope for something so fantastic and heartbreaking.

And I musn't forget the book *mysteriously* falling off the table and Dean *coincidentally* finding the number. I was screaming BOBBYYYY! at my TV.

Re: Supernatural

I like to think that maybe Meg is a little more on the Winchester side of things than she lets on. She's had plenty of chances to kill them over the years but now she keeps teaming up with them. I've always wondered if she doesn't still have a little thing for Sam. It certainly seemed like it when she originally showed up. Plus, I keep waiting for a few of the demons to show themselves as almost decent. Crowley did it for a while and then blew it to hell. Ruby seemed like she might be okay and then they blew that to hell too. So I keep hoping that maybe Meg will be different. (:

And I'm still sad that Sam's crazy has apparently been cured. Sort of. I really liked the idea of him being permanently unhinged. Plus I love Mark Pellegrino as imaginary Lucifer. I didn't care for the real Lucifer but the fake one is great. I want him to stick around. Plus, I don't know if anyone around here watches Being Human, but I loved the irony of Mark Pellegrino playing hallucinatory versions of his characters on two different shows at the same time. Hilarious.

But how could I have forgotten about the mysteriously helpful book?! BOBBYYYYYYYYYY! Hands down that would have been the best part of the episode if it hadn't been for Castiel. Though his dialogue was a little overly stilted. Maybe they forgot how to write him while he was gone. Dean was perfect as always. "You've just met yourself. I've known you for years." Ah, Dean, you crack me up even when you're trying to be serious.

I'm not really worried about Meg doing anything evil to Cas at the moment. It doesn't really seem like that's what her agenda is.

Speaking of Mark Pellegrino and his roles, it is rather ironic how he plays Lucifer in Supernatural but played pretty much the epitome of good (and I mean, if this guy said he was God or an Angel, you wouldn't doubt him) in Lost. I found that very amusing when I found out.

Ooh, yess! I forgot about that.... I hope that his ghost actually appears at some point in one of the next episodes.... that would be brilliant!

Re: Supernatural

I once read an interview where Rachel Miner referred to Sam and Dean as Meg's 'favourite playthings' which I think is pretty apt. She seems to have a great time toying with them. And taking into consideration that while demons tend to look out for Number One, they aren't completely devoid of feeling (Azazel referred to Meg as a 'daughter' and another demon as his 'boy', and then there's Casey in 3x04 and Ruby's clear (albeit twisted/evil) attachment to Sam, and even Meg's loyalty to Lucifer) so I like to think they've grown on her a bit. This is, of course, not to ignore all of the bad history between them. Also has me thinking that if any demon regained too much of their humanity, they probably wouldn't be able to deal with all of the bad things they'd done.

I actually watched Lost before SPN, so when I found out Mark was playing the Devil here I was like 'What?!?!' But he pulls both ends of the spectrum off so well. Interestingly enough, I read a quote from a convention once where he claimed that the 'only difference between Jacob and Lucifer is a fifth of Stoli.' Although I guess as time goes on in Lost you do start to see his dark side there as well.
I know it's wrong, but I got weird amusement from the fact that everything Lucifer has done this season is a product of Sam's mind... like, who knows what the REAL Lucifer would do if he was there, but when Sam hallucinates him, he's singing Zeppelin and playing with a megaphone and reading the Three Little Pigs.

I just really need Bobby and the Impala back in my life RIGHT NOW.

Re: Supernatural

I second the need for Bobby and Impala. Last episode Dean was driving a black car (can't remember what type) and for a second I thought he had the Impala back. I got really sad when I realized that it wasn't. If Castiel hadn't been doing his best imitation of a badass right after that I might have gotten misty eyed. But I am enjoying the ghostly teasing because everyone knows it's Bobby. Couldn't be anyone else. I mean really. What kind of ghost steals a man's beer? Only Bobby would do that.

Imaginary Lucifer with the megaphone was one of my favorite parts. Cracked me up. I really really REALLY wish they had kept Sam crazy. It would be hell when he's hunting but that's what makes it fun. Wouldn't be the first time a hunter went wonky in the head. SIGH. Oh well. Maybe crazy!Cas will make up for it a little. I hope they take him out of the mental hospital soon. It was horrible that they left him there in the first place. Come on. He's crazy but he's still an angel. That just seemed so cruel. I know they don't have Bobby to fall back on for angel-sitting but there must have been other options. And on another note, am I the only one who hated "Emmanuel"s pseudo-wife? She was only on screen for a minute or so but I wanted to smack her the whole time.

Yess! We must have the Impala back! As for Bobby... I'd love him to come back as a ghost, but only as a ghost. He should stay dead.

But I love Hallucifer..... he's fun. I actually didn't really care for Lucifer until Repo Man. The moment when he stuck out his tongue and it turned out to be forked, actually. It was that moment that I started to love Lucifer.

But they can't really. They have to go and fight the Leviathans and the last thing they need is to have to be watching a hallucinating angel. It might have been cruel to leave him, but they couldn't have kept him with them either.

Re: Supernatural

The replacement cars just hurt to look at. Really. That black one looked like you'd insert a floppy disk into the front. I imagine the reunion between Dean/Baby will be quite epic when it happens, though, so I'll try to be patient. I'd love it so much if they'd play Back in Black when they show her again.
Honestly I'm still pretty sore that they killed Bobby (I'm assuming that there's no one lurking this page who hasn't watched S7 yet...) because they always say 'Death is extremely permeable etc. etc. we can always bring them back' but let's be real, that's crap. They can come back as a ghost/in Heaven/In an alt!universe/flashbacks/some sort of shifter turns into them... but it doesn't last and it's not the same and we all know it.

Oh my gosh, I was actually streaming Repo-Man on my computer when it aired and I was sitting really close to the screen when Lucifer stuck his tongue out, and I swear I jumped back at least a foot.

I wish they didn't have to leave Cas there, but I get that there's really no other option. He does have two more episodes, though, and I can't imagine he'll be in there the whole time. We'll just have to wait and see...

Honestly, I really wanted to like 'Emmanuel's' wife. I'm usually overly open to female characters on the show because the fandom has such a bad track record with accepting them, and I don't want to be one of those fans who's like (In Jensen's own words) "Get those sl#ts away from our boys!" but here's the thing. After the events of 7x01, I would be really surprised if Castiel wasn't A) On the radar of most religious groups; whether they believed he was God or an angel or the second coming or an imposter he HAD to have gotten their attention, and B) On America's Most Wanted for all of the public mass murders. He killed an entire campaign office and he wasn't shy about any of it.
Not to mention, if you find someone with no memories or clothes wandering around, you take them to the hospital. And the police station to see if anyone has filed a missing person's report. I find it hard to believe that such steps could have been taken without anyone cluing in and being like hey, it's that mass murderer from tv or PRAISE THE LORD or SOMETHING. So I figure she musn't have done that, and THEN I figure, 'Oh honey... you must be some daft.' Is it even legal to marry someone who doesn't know who they are? What if they were already married somewhere else? I feel like any steps they could've taken to find out his real identity (fingerprints, etc.) would probably lead them to Jimmy's info. Considering how little sense it makes, I was totally expecting her to be a demon or a Leviathan or even another angel... but no dice.

I think I jumped too, even though I knew it was coming at some point because of Tumblr.

Ah! I forgot to address my feelings on the wifey! I was skeptical of her the moment I heard about her. At first I was angry because I didn't want Cas to be married, but after watching the episode, the only thing I can think is, "Well, that was a pointless little plot device." If they're going to give him a wife, at least make it matter! Don't let it be a little detail because it's really not and defies a whole heck of a lot of logic. What would have made the most sense is if the wife had been a supernatural creature of some kind that was watching Cas to make sure he didn't get his memories back or anything. But nooooo! She was just a few minutes of screentime and practically of no use at all.

I can't believe the boys were driving a station wagon in this last episode. Do my eyes deceive me? It was hilarious and sad at the same time. But I stalk Jim Michaels on twitter and he posted a picture of the Impala a few weeks back. It will return. Hopefully soon. I think they were working on episode 7x20 at the time. They need to get the band back together. They'll never win with the stolen car of the week and no backup. Speaking of, much as he was a sorry replacement for Bobby, Frank had really been growing on me. I am concerned for his well being. Splattery trailer does no bode well.

And back to Emmanuel's wife. She gave me a weird pod people kind of vibe the whole time she was there. She was just very complacent and ODD. I half expected her to be a demon or something too. And then I couldn't help wondering, now that Cas is crazy: is anyone even going to tell her he's not coming back? The whole situation just rubbed me the wrong way. Besides, Cas's body is already married. They just made him a polygamist or something. And I say this as someone who actually LIKES most of the female characters. Except Jo. I never really cared much for her. Then again, maybe my distaste for the wife is because it was Castiel. (: I do love him something fierce. But, no, I think it was just an odd situation.

I think they should have to drive a minivan again a la 2x02. Return of the soccer mom. And then the Impala can come back because it's just time.

Yeah, I gotta say, assuming that she is just human (albeit of the slightly dim variety) I feel a little bad for Daphne now. She's just gonna sit around waiting for her magical husband to come home and it's just not happening.
I just have a problem with relationships being built and established off-screen, and then it's just like YEP YOU DIDN'T WITNESS ANY OF IT BUT LET US TELL YOU ABOUT IT REALLY BRIEFLY AND THEN YOU'LL LOVE IT AS MUCH AS WE DO. I felt like it was a similar thing with Dean/Lisa/Ben. I did like their characters, but there was so much telling and not much showing. It's alienating, kinda like... not seeing a close friend for a little while, and then suddenly they have new friends you don't know.
(And BTW I totally loved Jo, but I think that might have to do with the fact that she and I have the same name... ssshhhh...)

I wasn't really following the last episode that closely for the most part... I perked up a bit when they mentioned Cas or Bobby, and I chuckled at most of Garth's antics, but all in all it was just so-so. I was pretty disappointed that they didn't take advantage of the sheer comedic gold that would be Sam and Dean completely drunk together for more than a few seconds. But then at the end, as they were talking about Bobby, I was thinking that once they left the hotel room there would be some little disturbance and then the credits would roll. Like, something falling off a table or a breeze running through the room, something sort of suspicious but also ambiguous. So when they left and the shot lingered, I was like 'Score. I was so right.' And then it panned RIGHT ONTO BOBBY and I was freaking out for the remainder of the episode. And it looks like he's back again next episode, and I am SO ready.

Ditto on the comic gold of drunk Winchester brothers. Total missed opportunity. Though I did snicker over Sam's super eloquent moment talking about "the thing" and when he had to take a cab. I liked the episode overall but they should have been drunk longer. Garth got more drunk time than they did and that's just not fair.

But I'm so excited for Bobby to make his full on ghostly appearance. I mean seriously? The boys are around supernatural stuff EVERY day and they're having that hard a time believing that Bobby might stick around? Everyone knows that Bobby is a stubborn bastard. XD I'm hoping they can make ghost!Bobby and possibly crazy!Cas work because the Leviathan issue needs to be dealt with so we can move on. Who here actually believes that they're just "here to help" and cure cancer? If they're curing anything I think it's in a To Serve Man kind of way. You don't turn people into complacent lumps with the Turducken Slammer and then decide you're going to fix the world. Besides, I still haven't forgiven them for melting Castiel in the first place. And shooting Bobby in the head.

I actually didn't notice I was getting attached to Ben and Lisa until 6x14 when Ben calls Dean about his mom's date, and I was like WHO BE MESSIN' WITH DEAN'S WOMAN.

And I am so on board with the End!Verse theory, you have no idea. I mean, dead Bobby and drugged out Cas broke my heart and I hate to see the brothers separated like that, but if they pulled it off it would be beyond superb. Especially if they brought in 2009!Dean and basically had a rehash of 5x04 in some way, my mind would be BLOWN.

Re: Supernatural

I actually hated them at first for some reason, but by the time I reached season six, I loved them.

So am I! I think if they manage to pull it off and use it to end Supernatural somehow (I refuse to accept an ending where Sam and Dean aren't dead), it would be brilliant! Plus.... Luci!Sam did say that no matter what Dean changed, they would always end up at The End. And it's already heading that way! Who's to say when Cas gets rid of the hallucinations (because there's more chance of him getting rid of them than not) that he won't be like the Cas in The End! Deano's already heading towards his version in End!Verse and all Sam needs is Lucifer possessing him!

Luckily, Jensen doesn't seem to have aged much in the past two or three years, so 2009!Dean wouldn't be too hard! And.... now I'm thinking about if this happened and then 2009!Dean appeared and Dean realizes that even after everything he's done, he didn't manage to make things right.... Ye gods, that would be sad.... it makes me sad to even think about it!

Re: Supernatural

I liked Ben and Lisa for the most part. Ben got on my nerves sometimes. Seriously. If Dean says stay away from the dangerous pointy weapons then stay the hell away! Though I did enjoy getting to watch Dean be all fatherly to him. I kind of hope that they'll show up again. Maybe not permanently but at least one more time. I've always wondered if their memories would stay gone for good.

As for the theory about End!verse... one part of me wants to think that could be possible but another part says there's no way. Plus, that means I would have to come to terms with the show ending. I've only been watching it for a little over a year. I'm not ready for it to go away yet! But I think the Leviathans are going to "cure cancer" in the sense that they're going to wipe out the people. Or else they'll cure diseases because it makes people taste bad or something. (: Everything they've done so far has pointed towards them being evil. So this sudden altruism, from a low level Leviathan no less, just doesn't make any sense. There's something else behind it. But I would be impressed if they could turn the show into End!verse and have it actually work. I'd be sad since everyone there was miserable but I would be impressed.

I really hope that their memories don't stay gone forever, but I think that their storyline is done. And it is sort of better for them this way. I'm convinced Sam and Dean will die in the end, so Lisa can never really be with Dean and Ben can't really have him as a father. Er... and am I the only one convinced that Ben really is Dean's kid and Lisa lied?

I know the feeling... I've only had Supernatural for a little over a year as well. I don't want it to go, but when it does, probably at the end of season eight, I want it to be.... well, a blaze of glory. I personally think it would be amazing if they tied it into End!Verse because... well, just because.

Re: Supernatural

I always wondered whether Ben was really Dean's, up until the exchange with the demon possessing Lisa in 6x21 - it seems to me that if it were true, the demon would've milked it for all it was worth instead of immediately being like 'JK LOL'. Still, though, a major theme of the show is 'family don't end with blood' and Dean said himself that he was starting to see Ben as his own kid, so leaving them was still pretty bittersweet for me.

Re: Leviathans curing cancer... I was immediately reminded of season four when the higher up angels allowed the others to believe that they were trying to protect the world, to keep them in line down below. I think this would be an interesting route, if it turned out that not all Leviathans were on board with the world domination thing the same way that not all angels (or demons, for that matter) were on board with the Apocalypse. The cancer thing might still be legit; they may be trying to win the public over to Dick's campaign or some such thing before sedating them with turducken and eating them.

Did you guys hear about Sera stepping down as showrunner? I was ambivalent at first because I feel that she got a lot of misdirected hate and was also an occasional target for the fandom's bizarre misogyny, but I can't help but be incredibly excited over the return of Jeremy Carver - he's my favourite SPN writer ever. I would have been thrilled just to hear that he was coming back to write one episode, let alone run the show alongside Bob Singer (whose direction I also 100% trust).

Re: Supernatural

I heard Sera Gamble was stepping down and (though I don't know I'm in any position to comment since I've only been watching for one year) I'm kind of happy. I know it's a hard act to follow the first five seasons but season 6 and now season 7 have been a bit of a mess. She's supposed to be in charge. She should have been making sure the season worked as a whole and everything was a nice mostly coherent package. Season 6 had its moments but there were definite problems. Much as I like season 7, the Leviathans are more of an annoyance than a legitimate "big bad". They're all over the place, Sam and Dean are down pretty much every resource they had, and they have no way to fight the Leviathans. They have nothing. It's not so much a quest as a "let's survive this" situation which would make more sense if the Leviathan were still obviously after the boys. But oh well. Enough complaining about coherence. I'll just be happy for now that Castiel is back (albeit crazy) and that Bobby is still hanging on. And then I'll go back to worrying about Frank. What can I say? I like the crotchety characters.

Oh and for what it's worth, I still think Ben is Dean's son. Always have. The coincidence there just seemed a little TOO much. Besides I swear there were moments when they first showed up that Lisa looked like she was about to tell Dean that he was the father.

Yup! I heard about that last week! I was going to mention it here.... but I forgot. *angelic grin* I'm glad he's taking over though. While I haven't hated Sera like most people have, she didn't really do too well in taking over the show. There were many mediocre episodes and efinitely far more than there should have been. I think that the only episodes I seriously liked in season seven were Death's Door and Plucky Pennywhistle's Magical Menagerie. At least, those are the two that I really remember out of all of them.

But Carver and Singer have both written some brilliant episodes, so I have high hopes for season eight!

Re: Supernatural

Just my thoughts on the Curing Cancer.

They are actually going to try and cure cancer. There won't be any nasty tricks or evil schemes. Actually I'll be disappointed if they do have some alternative motive.

We assume for whatever reason that the Leviathons are evil and have nothing better to do then to try and destroy man kind.

The greatest threat would be for them to actually become the saviors of man kind.
Stage 1. Cure Cancer and other illnesses.

Stage 2. Dick Roman runs for President. To the rest of the world he is a great guy. Curing Cancer? Pfft who is going to vote against a guy who has saved countless lives and whose company will probably save even more.

Stage 3. Unleash all hell upon the Earth. Whether it's Leviathon's taking over the bodies of the leaders across the world and starting pointless worlds. Maybe give the world proof that the Supernatural exists by tricking Demons or recruiting various supernatural creatures to cause massive chaos and destruction. Maybe a bit of both. Either way the World will fall into complete chaos. Riots, war, famine and plenty of work for Death and his reapers. This is also a great chance to kill off as many Hunters as possible.

Stage 4. The Leviathons bring peace back into the world. The world will be in shambles allowing for Dick Roman to effectively take over the world.

Stage 5. A giant victory party. Finally after so long the Leviathons are finally rulers of the world. Now I don't know what Purgatory is like. But chances are they were angry when God decided they were to powerful to exist on Earth.

Stage 6. For quite a long time peace will follow. At least on the surface. As the Leviathon numbers grow humans will slowly be replaced.

...

Or something. But probably the Cure for Cancer is something sinister instead. A vaccine that kills off people. At first it actually does cure cancer and it's discovered that the vaccine is a great way to prevent it too. So naturally a bunch of people are going to want it not knowing that... SURPRISE! It will actually turn you into zombies... or something.

Then again I wouldn't be surprised if the whole cure for cancer is never really brought up again.

Yeah, I have to agree that seasons six and seven haven't been as cohesive, so if that changes then I'll be happy indeed. I really hope Sera stays on to write occasionally, though, because she's had some superb episodes.

Could be that whatever they were putting in the turducken to make their test subjects so complacent will be mass-produced and put into the cancer-curing drugs (a la Croatoan in the Swine Flu vaccine). Or maybe I'm just stuck on the whole End!Verse thing...

Not really liking the idea of there being two more archangels around that we haven't heard anything about... I mean, where were they for seasons 4 - 6? Especially season six, because there's no way Castiel had two archangels on his side, see ENTIRE PLOT for further reference... but if they had sided with Raphael then they would have been killed in 7x01.
My predictions are...
A) They both pulled a Gabriel and have been MIA up until now.
B) Someone messed up the description and it's just more run of the mill angels.

It just feels too late in the game to introduce more archangels, you know? I mean, the show's mythology felt complete with there being four, what with Anna's comment in 4x10 that only four angels had seen God. You assume it was Michael, Lucifer, Gabriel and Raphael. But now it's like, 'Wait, who are these others...'

The only way they would be in this episode is if they decided to go back on what they already said. I personally don't think that they should introduce any new archangels either because it would open up a whole realm of questions and destroy continuity. Not to mention that I really want one of the four back....

I heard about the archangels but I didn't know they were BRAND NEW angels. Hmmm, now I'm a little confused. Unless they mean to resurrect some of the dead ones (maybe, possibly, hopefully?) and they were being intentionally vague about that. Much as I enjoyed the angels in the past, it does seem wrong introducing them now. Either way, I'll be waiting with bated breath. I just hope they don't go and pull something idiotic like turning Bobby into an angel because that would inspire me to throw something at the TV. That would be bad. Can't watch Supernatural with a busted TV. Actually while I'm ranting about the subject, if I find out that any part of the Winchester/Campbell family is/was part angel I will be forced to throw heavy objects.

What I really want to know is where the hell is Chuck? I loved him. If they're going to send in the angels again then I want Chuck back too.

Re: Supernatural

To be honest, I think that more archangels will throw a serious wrench into continuity either way. I mean, there's varying beliefs on the number/identities of archangels so it's not like more would be absurd on that count, but within the show it just makes no sense. Apart from the obvious 'Where WERE they during EVERYTHING?', it also just doesn't jibe with the way the archangels were set up as a family.

I think, though, that it's basically canonically impossible that they were present in Heaven during the civil war last season, so the only way I can see for them to enter is if they've been living incognito for some time.

I find I'm not really connecting with any of the new characters introduced this season... I think if Frank or Garth had been introduced a few years back I'd probably love them, but now it seems that the second someone new is brought in I'm basically waiting for them to bite it and not bothering to get attached anymore. I think Show needs to put down the gun for a little bit because death has basically lost its impact.

Re: Supernatural

Yer... so it's most likely that they're bringing back one of the other archangels.... Which I would liek more than anything else. It couldn't be Raphael though because Cas killed him..... So Michael and Lucifer are most likely.... even though I'm personally hoping (begging more like) that Gabriel will come back.

For me it really depends upon the character. I wasn't really too miffed when they appeared to have offed Frank and I like Garth.... but I haven't had enough of Garth to really like him. Plus, anyone new probably will die sooner than later unless they're some HUGE fan favorite like Castiel was, so there's really no point getting too attached.

Re: Supernatural

Oooh that is interesting.

Here's my theory on Gabriel since he's been brought up. Castiel keeps getting exploded while helping the Winchesters and then voila, he's resurrected (ahem, by Chuck, or so I like to think). So since Gabriel was ALSO helping the Winchesters when he came down with an unfortunate case of death maybe that qualifies him for the once or thrice in a lifetime resurrection deal too. Maybe. Possibly. I would like to think so. And thusly he could have been alive but back to hiding out this whole time. Maybe, possibly, hopefully. It makes sense in a convoluted kind of way. And he is a fan favorite so I don't think many would complain if he got resurrected. Then again, I've also considered that the archangels that show up later this season might be solely in flashback form. I wouldn't be surprised. But I'm probably over thinking things.

Re: Supernatural

As much as I love him (and I really do) I was always on the fence about Gabriel coming back, because
A) His death scene was so poignant and I'd hate to see that cheapened.
B) It probably wouldn't have been totally plot relevant, and would have felt like pure fanservice.
But now that he's actually a big part of the current mythology? I'm 100% on the bus. Hell, I'll drive the bus.

I wonder if the upcoming archangels will be plot decoys for the Leviathans the same way the Jersey Devil was earlier this season in 7x09, and the 'cursed objects' were in 7x16.

Re: Supernatural

I kinda wonder about the archangels being a red herring too. They seem like a deus ex machina otherwise. "Oh look. There are new archangels that were TOTALLY around before but didn't bother to help until RIGHT NOW when we have NO OTHER WAY to solve the problem. But they were totally around before. Really. Seriously." I think I'd be okay with a revival of Michael and Gabriel though. Michael was a pompous ass but it could be interesting. Assuming they can logically explain how he got out of the cage. And hopefully bring Adam along (or send him on to heaven). Poor kid.

In other fangirl news, I was just looking up the summaries for the next two episodes of Supernatural. This week is the Girl with the Dungeons & Dragons Tattoo. Sounds fun. Looking forward to Felicia Day showing up. And then. And then... the next episode it says Castiel wakes up from his crazy coma state. I don't know if I'm excited or terrified. It also said something about an unwilling prophet. Say what? Suddenly we're back in seasons 4 and 5. Are they trying to throw the fans off the scent or are they really doing this?

And finally, am the only one who was sad that they didn't play on Dean and the cursed shoes a little longer in Out With The Old? If Sam hadn't been going crazy at the time, you know he would have been all over that one.

Re: Supernatural

I've always liked the idea of Gabriel coming back, even though he did get a wonderful death scene, because I didn't feel like he was used enough.

I honestly will be very annoyed if they bring in two archangels that weren't there before and I kind of doubt that the writers would do that. They should know how many questions it would open up, such as, "WHERE THE HELL WERE THEY BEFORE THE WORLD WENT TO HELL?!" It would really be the best choice to bring back an old pair of archangels.

I thought that the Girl with the Dungeons & Dragons Tattoo looked like a weird episode, but it should be interesting! I can't wait for 7x20 though. The unwilling prophet I'm not really too worried about.... unless.... ooh, I has idea... since Chuck is God, could he sort of possess someone else's body or something like that... similar to what the angels do?

Ah, yes... I personally would have loved to see Dean put ON the shoes and dance... just because that would be thoroughly HILARIOUS!

Well, darn. Saw the commercial for next week's episode of Supernatural. I'm pretty sure that blond was an angel but somehow I doubt she was supposed to be Michael. Or Gabriel. XD And was that an angel banishing sigil I spied? The plot thickens. I'm really curious about next week's ep now. I guess I was right about the Leviathans/cancer plan. I'm a little disappointed. It seemed so obvious. But oh well. Castiel wakes up in a week!

And in conclusion: Please get renewed, Supernatural! Please oh please. Much as I don't care for the Leviathans overall, this season has supplied some truly entertaining episodes. I'm starting to get nervous now that we're down to the last 2 new episodes.

At the con in Rome this weekend they were saying that there hasn't been an *official* renewal yet, but they're basically assuming that it's the case.

I'm tentatively looking forward to this episode - it seems really entertaining, but it's an Edlund episode which means the feels will come out of nowhere and punch me in the gut. Plus - I'm barely even used to having Castiel back, and I'm already fearing for his life again? I swear I'm going to develop a seasonal anxiety disorder where I get really nervous at the season in the spring. I just hope that he gets a few more moments as his actual self... since we've only had about fifteen minutes tops this season where he wasn't power tripping/amnesiac/completely bonkers.

And there you have it. Those are my thoughts.

Oh, did you want something coherent? Yeah, I am FREAKING out. In a kind of good way. I missed the first 20 minutes of the episode but what I saw was amazing and I'm super excited for next season. I just wish it wasn't going to be in OCTOBER. I'm also praying that they don't screw it up. The setup is fantastic. I'd obviously prefer the Winchesters hunting things together but I'm really interested to see where this goes.

I hath watched ze finale! And it was awesome! My thoughts went something along the lines of, "Crowley! Don't you dare! You dirty backstabbing little traitorous demon! Oh wait.... no... I love you Crowley! Cas? Naked? Bees? Excuse me while I laugh my head off. Bobby! Don't strangle Sammy! Wait! You're going to burn the flask? Bye bye Bobby.... I'm going to go cry in a corner now. The bone didn't work.... CROWLEY! YOU BACKSTABBING LITTLE TRAITOROUS DEMON! I'MA KILL-.... No wait... I love you. Where's Deano? Where's Deano? Where's Deano? Where's Deano? Naw.... poor Sammy... he's all alone now...... Can I just hug him now? I KNEW IT! I knew they were going to end up in purgatory!"

I really hope that they don't resolve the purgatory plotline quickly. It has some seriously awesome potential! But... on the other hand, the show doesn't really work with Sam and Dean separated since it is fundamentally about two brothers. Plus, remember what happened the last times Dean's been gone? He pretty much went off the deep end both times. Of course, I doubt that he's going to go for demon blood again, but.... I don't think that it's going to be pretty. SO! I'ma hoping that Sam will find a way to open purgatory, go in to look for Deano, but end up being trapped there with Cas and Dean! Then we should have a bit of the season focusing on them fighting their way through purgatory in an attempt to find a way out!

Re: Supernatural

I sit in anticipation of season 8. It hasn't worked well for the brothers to be apart in the past I think because it was some random excuse. "I'm mad at you." "Well I'm mad at you too." "I can't talk to you right now." "Fine." "Fine." And then they go their separate ways. At least this time they've been broken up by an outside force so the situation is completely different. I can't wait to see how they get back to each other. Hopefully outside of Purgatory. I don't want Sam trapped there too. And I like that Dean is sort of teamed up with Castiel. It's a good combination (though obviously I'm biased because I'm a fan of Cas... in case you couldn't tell). I just worry about the two Winchesters (fictional though they are) because they both looked terrified at the end of the finale. They've literally never been in any situation like this. Sure, Dean went to Hell (and so did Sam) but at least then they knew where to find each other. So to speak. This time Sam doesn't even seem to have realized that Dean was sucked into Purgatory. I'm kinda hoping that Bobby is in Purgatory too. I miss him already. ): But I had a lot of feelings during the finale which is good. I have high hopes for next season. And if separating the brothers gives Jared the time off that he needs (and thereby keeps the show going) I'm all for it. Supernatural needs to stick around. It's the only thing left on TV that I really love. (:
