But the one that bugged me was Cinna. He just looked so different as to be unrecognizable. He still looked right for the role, but he just didn't look like a "Cinna" to me... If you listen to Suzanne Collins read part of the books, she puts on a southern accent for Katniss (and she doesn't normally have one). I've watched the trailer three times because of this thread. I AM SO HAPPY. I was always wary of the casting choices for Peeta and Katniss, but they feel so right "on screen". Jennifer Lawrence manages to pull of lines that could sound so weepy and depressing in a practical way, which is how Katniss is supposed to sound. And Josh Hutcherson's tone is perfect, too. A wistful dreamer. I was sad at Cinna's casting when I first saw it, and this guy is going to have to work to win me over. I always pictured him as, well, Stanley Tucci, but he was (un?)fortunately cast as Caesar Flickerman. When I saw that they'd picked her for Katniss I literally squealed in delight. She's perfect for Katniss. Exactly who I would have chosen. The three main characters (Katniss, Peeta, Gale) looked kind of different in my head, but they all seem perfect for their roles. My two favorite characters in the books, Haymitch and the fabulous Cinna, did not look at all like what I pictured them to be. I always pictured Haymitch as kind of Hugh Laurie-ish, so he lookes different. And when I first saw Cinna, I was like, "What?! He looks like a stylish, sort of cute gangster!". I always pictured Cinna as a brown-haired Adam Lambert. Is that weird or what? Prim and Effie are spot-on. Love it! Can not wait to see the movie!!!!!!!!!! It's impossible to put them down, especially since the first two end with cliffhangers! I actually shed a few tears after watching the trailer. It was well put together. Rue's four-tone song at the end was what set me off. Katniss is not exactly how I pictured her (since she's described in the books as being olive-skinned) but I'm happy with the movie so far judging by the trailer. I hope it won't disappoint.
