I don't know if brony is a gender specific term, but I'm definitely a fan. I never thought I'd like Twilight Sparkle and Rainbow Dash as much as I do. Rarity, too.
I think whether the term "brony" is gender-neutral is entirely up to whoever it's being applied to. My wife considers herself a brony, but some female fans I know do not.
sup, brony here. (/brohoof) seconding the awesomeness of your fanfic. i've never given much thought to equestria's history before, but i'd love to see somebody's take on it.
I LOVE this show. I've been a My Little Pony fan since the original movie, so of course I had to check out the new series and I ended up loving it ^_^
Actually what got my instantly hooked was the first scene with Fluttershy, because it's totally me in pony form, lol. Down to the squeak and then the "OMG, baby dragon!".
My Little Pony is like my favorite cartoon. Ever. End of story.
I'm also doing a FiM fic for this year, which will naturally require a lot of research. And of course by research I mean watching the episodes again :D
Very nice. I'm proud to see this is one of the first threads up on the new forum. :D I'm working on a FiM cosplay for an upcoming con...it's just one of those things I feel I must do in my lifetime.
So...favorite pony, anyone? Mine would have to be Rainbow Dash, although Fluttershy is also right there. :)
I'd do a rainbow dash, but the problem I have with it is that I don't have her personality. I'm all for people cosplaying something similar to them, it just doesn't work if they don't IMHO... :/
I'm not as obsessed with the show as some people out there, but yeah, I love it. I still feel a little awkward watching the opening theme, since I'm so FANTABULOUSLY masculine, but I've been getting over it slowly. It helps that my roommate plays fan remixes of the show's songs all the time. Sigh.
Fanfilly here! I love the show and have been considering writing some fic for it, if I could just get the ideas to gel. My favorite pony is Rarity, beating out Twilight Sparkle by only a hair.
So great to see this thread in the forums! I tried to start one during the hiatus when no one was around, but since no one was around it obviously went nowhere... :B
But yeah, brony here, Fluttershy fan all they way (although all of the mane six are pretty great), and I'm considering writing a sort-of-fanfic-sort-of-not story... it's complicated.
Great to see so many fellow pony lovers doing NaNo this year!
Brohoof my fellow bronys! I'm female but I'll go by that because pega-sister just sounds weird.
I got into the show because of an argument and flame war that started on SPUF (Steam User Forums). I had one really logical person give a logical answer as to why he liked the show. I went to youtube to see what the hype was about and well, 26 episodes later here I am. :)
Out of the mane six, I'm going with Pinkie Pie and Rainbow Dash (tied in first) with Twilight being a close close third. ROFL I can't stand Rarity's vanity, and Fluttershy drives me absolutely nuts, she's almost TOO sweet a char. Applejack is better of the three but seems almost like a generic stereotype. :/
I'm a girl who considers herself a brony, I think it's all in who you are, but seriously this show. Pinkie Pie has inspired me to be a better person. I just... Pinkie's my favourite, and I may have to slip a reference into my novel this year. They can have steeds or something.
If you can't tell by the icon, my favorite is Twilight. (Mainly because...she's me. As a pony.) I've been obsessed with the show since March, and I'm loving the new season so far. (Luna episode! Two weeks! Yaaaay.) I also may have the mane ponies on my desk. Where I do the bulk of my writing.
(Did actually debate on finishing my FiM fic for either Nano or the PonyNano on EQD last month. I didn't because of time constraints and my fic is pretty much jossed two episodes in.)
Bronies! Yay for Bronies! I'm doing a steampunk epic this year, and if you can't tell, Sweetie Belle is the pony I identify with most, followed by Rainbow Dash. (I get the wait...what, spaced moments of Sweetie Belle far too often in real life)
Another female brony checking in here (though I dig pega-sister!). I'm still working through the episodes, and I'm totally in love. Twilight and Fluttershy are my favourites, with Applejack a close third. Rainbow Dash drives me bonkers, a lot of the time. I've been wandering around the house, irritating my other half with Pinkie Pie's "evil enchantress" song for about a week now. There's been no murder yet, I'm amazed at the restraint shown...
Friendship is Magic!
Any brony Wrimos out there? I'm actually doing FiM fanfic this year.
Re: Friendship is Magic!
Fellow Brony here. I'm thinking of doing a Friendship is Magic fanfic as well. Good luck with yours!
My favourite pony is Applejack, next would be Luna.
Re: Friendship is Magic!
Cool, your story looks fun.
I don't know if brony is a gender specific term, but I'm definitely a fan. I never thought I'd like Twilight Sparkle and Rainbow Dash as much as I do. Rarity, too.

Re: Friendship is Magic!
I have heard that female fans (such as myself) are called Pegasis'.
Re: Friendship is Magic!
I think girls are fanfillies. :)
Re: Friendship is Magic!
I'm SO a brony, it's a very refreshing show! Your fanfic seems like a great idea :)
Re: Friendship is Magic!
I'm a fan; I don't know if I should say brony as I'm female. I like Twilight; I can identify with her. :)
Re: Friendship is Magic!
As an aside... is that Ada Lovelace in your icon? Awesome.
Re: Friendship is Magic!
Yeah. :D She was awesome.

Re: Friendship is Magic!
You're not the only one who can relate to Fluttershy. Out of all the ponies, I think she's the one who is the most like me. :)

Re: Friendship is Magic!
Yay for another Cosplayer! :) I'm also doing a FiM cosplay. Pinkie Pie. :)
Re: Friendship is Magic!
Awesome! I'm making a genderflipped Twilight Sparkle cosplay, and my wife is working on a Rainbow Dash.
Re: Friendship is Magic!
I'd do a rainbow dash, but the problem I have with it is that I don't have her personality. I'm all for people cosplaying something similar to them, it just doesn't work if they don't IMHO... :/
Re: Friendship is Magic!
I want to do a FiM cosplay too~! :D I'm not sure who I'd cosplay as if I get around to making it. But realy want to see the cosplays you guys make~!
Re: Friendship is Magic!
my favourite is apple bloom! although out of the main ponies, rainbow dash and fluttershy are also my favourites.
may i inquire as to the nature of this cosplay ...

Re: Friendship is Magic!
I love FiM! It's a very well done cartoon. My favorite pony is Twilight. I can related to her awkward nerdiness. :B
So... who's excited for the Luna Halloween episode?

Re: Friendship is Magic!
I'm a Celestia fanboy. We're a rare breed, and frequently get in contention with those Lunar Republic types.
SOLAR EMPIRE ETERNAL!
Among the mane cast, though, my favorite is Twilight.
Re: Friendship is Magic!
ALL HAIL THE LUNAR REPUBLIC! lol sorry had to do it, but luna is only second to fluttershy in my book

Sooooooo can't wait until October 15th!
Re: Friendship is Magic!
I like the term pega-sister! I may have to adopt that now.

Re: Friendship is Magic!
I like the line, "And I'm glad that you accept me even when I don't understand myself" I'm like, that's so true for me.
Re: Friendship is Magic!
Hee, the bronies and fillies are everywhere.

Glad to find where everypony is hiding.
Re: Friendship is Magic!
What are you, a dictionary?
Re: Friendship is Magic!
That wasn't even a word.
I've done that to you before, haven't I? In seriousness?
Re: Friendship is Magic!
Yes, you have. Mostly correcting me in pronunciation.
