I start wayyy too much threads. -.- I APOLOGIZE, PEOPLE OF NANOWRIMO!
But, okay; so I'm writing what will hopefully be a series. And in the last book, a fallen angel is reincarnated inside of my FMC (the angel is her ancestor... it's complicated.) Anyways, I've pretty much been putting off /how/ I'm going to ban/kill the fallen angel, but things are starting to come into play now, so I need to know.
and I'm drawing a blank.
best case scenario, there's a way to ban/kill the angel while keeping my FMC alive. Worse case scenario, my FMC dies. I know I'm not offering enough details... I don't have any details! Does anyone have any ideas, any at all? If you can kill a fallen angel, any ways to do that - and if you can't, then how I could ban her into another dimension?
Anything at all would be helpful, to get the ball going sorta-thing. I know I'll be able to think of something if someone else gets me started.
Thanks in advance! Sorry for the lack of information... my plot bunnies abandoned me. T.T
Reincarnated? No. Sounds like he is possessing her. Reincarnating means the SAME soul comes back in a new body. Thus the angel would not be sharing the girl's body, it would be the girl. Basically your angel is pulling a page from the demon playbook and nestling himself in a cozy corner of a human's mind. Thus you could always have a battle in a dreamscape or pocket reality formed from her own thoughts. Throw some ninjas in. Can't go wrong with ninjas.
Being as this is fantasy, I've got to ask what type of religion you've got constructed or if you're basing your story on our world in some various time and you're using the biblical definition of angel or you've got some other rules set for them and their hierarchy. For example, are angles typically tangible? Do they have souls our are they divine constructs? Do they exist in a pocket dimension in our plane that makes them appear ghostly to us unless we transition to their plane and vice versa? What exactly is meant by fallen? Typically this means they've performed an action that is anathema to others in their hierarchy, and they have been thrown out of the established order. If so, was the angel stripped of some powers? Has the angel then found a hierarchy of other fallen angels and joined with them?
I guess if I had to write something like this, I'd have an expert somewhere who knows how to perform the ritual to destroy this creature, and the first step would be driving it out of the host its in. The second step would be trapping it. And the third step would be destroying it while it's trapped. So from the character's perspective, when they aren't possessed (assuming they aren't always possessed) they need to locate this individual and obtain their help. If the possessed character cannot do this, then perhaps someone close to them will be suitably motivated to perform this action. Once the ritual master has been located, he or she will likely require materials to perform the ritual. This will send the character on a quest to obtain them. Once the materials are obtained and the ritual takes place, the trapped angelic will reside in a container of some type. You don't have to destroy it, but if you want to then this should involve another quest - one to seek a specific place where the destruction ritual can occur. I suggest not using mount Doom. How about someplace extremely divine and holy, like the birth place of creation or the "tree of law" or the "stone of forging" or something like that.
Hmm, let's see. You have an insanely evil fallen angel possessing your fmc's mind. Why not have your fmc temporaily fight off the possession, and have her sacrifice herself for a noble cause. By doing this, she might have the opportunity to come back to life, etc. Possibly in saving a young child who might be implemented in the story.
Might be a bit cliche, but not too bad. By killing herself to save another life, this might be the way to take out the fallen angel permantely. Hard to give you more advice without actually getting a better idea of the plot. Hope this helps in some way.
My main religion is sort of a varient of Christianity, the angels themselves aren't really the Biblical type, however. I've touched little on religion in my writing, and there's very little mention of God - the people pray more to the Angels, because of their own version of the bible, which is really an old story book full of tales of the seven archangels. The fallen angel in question was to guide the dead, and ended up tormenting the living, and was forced to live on my version of Earth for a period of time, before a Legion of Witches rose up and banished her (I never really went into detail about that, though.)
The ending I have in mind, is that the steps taken to save the FMC by her friends end up joining the two realms (one is the same as the world we live in today, the other is a parralel to Earth, only the people there are gifted with special abilities). I plan this story-book version of their 'bible' to have a tale about the end of their realm and the beginning of a joint one, but I haven't written it yet, and I know it has something to do with the angels. So anything that could maybe lead to this would be great. :)
Hmm, well the other night I had a dream where I was pregnant with a demon-baby, so the seven dwarfs from Snow White gave me an exorcism on the beach. Does that work? Probably not xD
Here's some info I found: An angel can be killed by stabbing him or her with an angelic blade. Holy fire can trap them and they can't use any powers to put it out (then you could use an exorcism chant?) "Death's Scythe" has the power to reap any being, whether it be human, demon, angel, or even Death.
Does this help?
Here's the site I used (scroll down to weaknesses): http://supernatural.wikia.com/wiki/Angels
haha, Hi again! We keep running into each other in the forums!
your dream just totally made my day. No, my week. Just picturing the seven little men preforming an exorcism... someone needs to write a book about that.
Thanks so much for the site! My google searchs were yielding nothing of use. I've got a pretty good idea now. :)
Great minds think alike, or something like that xD Apparently we give good advice :D
Yeah, I woke up from that dream really confused and questioning reality for the rest of the day (I was having stomach pains, it was weird, ahah).
Anyway, glad my results were of some use! I googled “killing fallen angels”, incase you need more information (if anyone were to check my browsing history xD). :)
Is it possible for the fallen angel to ever be redeemed/forgiven, or will he always be a bad guy regardless? Why did he even do all the bad stuff to begin with? People don't do things for no reason, and no one wakes up in the morning and goes "yesss! I'm gonna be evil today!"
So, it could theoretically be possible that, through possessing this chick, the angel realizes that (a) what he did sucked, and (b) just because he did something sucky yesterday doesn't mean he has to do something sucky tomorrow. Of course that'd mean you wouldn't have a big exciting climactic battle, heh. But I've never been a fan of completely black & white worlds or characters. Maybe this guy *does* have some good points somewhere...at least enough to make the "good" guys doubt whether they ought to kill him or not. ;)

Re: Killing a fallen angel?
**the angel posseses my FMC, not reincarnates, my bad. Thanks to Awesomeo for pointing that out!

Re: Killing a fallen angel?
Ahh thanks for pointing that out! I made note of that :) haha, ninjas and orphans. Every story needs those two.
Re: Killing a fallen angel?
It depends heavily on what your chosen mythology is, and what weaknesses you want the angel to have. Your call.
Re: Killing a fallen angel?
Well, if worse comes to worst, you could focibly remove the angel from your FMC's mind and burn her in demon fire.
