All right my little minions! Year after year we are sent to the corner and ignored for our desire for a Free Shrimp Dinner. Those non-writers point at us and laugh as we hold our empty plates and, with a gaunt look, request our free shrimp.
This year I say ENOUGH!! Time to be more aggressive than ever! Tell them this is the year you will receive your Free Shrimp Dinner! Cast off the yoke of burden, hold your head high and say, "I am not leaving until I am satisfied!!"
**And as an added challenge, use the phrase Free Shrimp Dinner in your novel this year.**
Now go my minions and spread the word to all threads!!!
Several years ago, through NaNoWriMo, some under appreciated someone managed to convince A fast food style of restaurants to give us free meals if we finished (won) our WriMo. Both Darling Adorable and I qualified and received our free meal coupons which we used to have free shrimp dinners.
It was wonderful.
I would love to see if such a thing could be done again. I think it was in support of struggling writers attempting to write novels and put through under some sort of educational sponsorship for supporting writing and creativity. Anyone else remember?
My novel is set in Chicago. Chicago has a port, right? Where there's a port there's seafood, right? And where there's seafood, there's a restaurant serving it, right? You darned well better believe that my characters are going to pile into the limo and head for the docks at the first mention of a FREE SHRIMP DINNER! 8-)

That is a good idea. My novel's not set in Chicago, but my MC's are traveling the Midwest, so when they get to Chicago... They will be having a free shrimp dinner. :3
A quick googling session reveals that there are, in fact, vegan shrimp. I cannot vouch for the taste, but I can say with surety that they do exist. Therefore, join the free (vegan) shrimp dinner brigade and rejoice!
I dunno about this. Vegan crab cakes I might buy into, and vegan fish 'n chips, but vegan shrimp might be taking it a bit too far ... (It doesn't help that I didn't like shrimp pre-veganism, either.)
cuz i dont have a skiff and shrimp pot so someone else do it for me! and cook it with butter. and all those fancey thingers that go with it. ...yeah...lol
i shall await for them at the docks with a pot of boiling water so one or two things would happen if you catch my drift *drevilwut*

Re: Free Shrimp Dinner~2011
Where's my shrimp? We've been promised shrimp for all these years, and has it shown up? Hmmmm? No! Now give it to me.
Re: Free Shrimp Dinner~2011
But I'm allergic to shrimp. I'm quite serious. Can I have the best Cottage Pie I've ever had instead?

Re: Free Shrimp Dinner~2011
I think this year when I win (er...so I hope, I mean). I'm making a shrimp dinner for me. Granted it won't be free, but at least I'll finally have it.
Re: Free Shrimp Dinner~2011
I want my Free Shrimp Dinner!! And I want Bubba Gumps's shrimp, with fancy cocktail sauce, and a little piece of lemon beside it. :)
Re: Free Shrimp Dinner~2011

Re: Free Shrimp Dinner~2011
Free Shrimp Dinner... -yummy- I mentioned it in last years novel. Do I have to do it again this year?
Re: Free Shrimp Dinner~2011
I want my free shrimp dinner! There should be Red Lobster gift cards for all the winners. They're even having Endless Shrimp right now.
Re: Free Shrimp Dinner~2011
Gimme my shrimp. We should get restaurants to donate shrimp dinners to us.
Re: Free Shrimp Dinner~2011

Re: Free Shrimp Dinner~2011
Three years and no shrimp to show for it? Well, I say enough!
I'm leaving to write my novel, and when I come back, there better be a plate of shrimp sitting there! *leaves*
*comes back* And cocktail sauce! *leaves*
