A writing site based on the idea of "morning pages," to get you to write three pages every day (roughly 750 words) - write anything at all. Journal, prose, homework, parts of your novel, brainstorming, or just a general mind dump.
It's completely private and no one will ever read what you write unless you copy and paste it elsewhere, although automatic programs built into the site study what you've written (words and verb tense and such) and give you statistics about your writing everyday. You can also get badges for streaks of writing - three days, ten days, thirty, etc. - as well as overall wordcount, writing speed, lack of distractions, and even completing Nano through the site.
Simple and easy, it's a distractionless place to just write.
I use this too! Once I get the first 750, I feel so accomplished I just keep going. I also like that it times my writing sessions for me. AND the "mood analysis" is pretty awesome.
I love this site. Just started doing it about mid September. I found out that I can write my 750 words in an average of fifteen minutes, which makes me really happy :D
I've been using this for a while, but I've been using it more the passed couple of months as a warm-up for NaNo. It works quite well. I generally use it before I go to bed, although I have it set to alert me to write at eleven in the morning.
I started using this a couple of days ago. So far I've pretty much used it for brainstorming ideas for NaNo. I missed one day, however, because I got home from work just after midnight and it had already clicked over to the next day. However that just gave me a really early start on the next day. :)
This seems interesting, but what is this stuff about Facebook I read in the FAQ?
Sorry, I don't give my real name to just anyone. /: This is a problem for me. I do have a fake Facebook account though with a completely different name and stuff. Well, let's see about this when I get home.
Facebook is just one of the login options, you can also use Google, Yahoo or OpenID.
I love 750words (I have most of the badges), but I have had issues in the past with it chopping off the end of entries, so I would recommend you copy/paste everything you write there. At the moment I'm planning to use it for NaNo in conjunction with My Writing NOOK (I refuse to cave to Barnes & Noble even if the owner had to); switching beween the two for writing and archiving on both.
The only problem I found when I attempted Camp NaNo on there was that I missed my daily braindump and lapsed back into journalling, so I may set up a second account purely for NaNo purposes and try to keep my journalling to one of my many unused notebooks.
I found the site via this forum a couple of months ago, and now I have more of my ideas written down than I ever have. I don't think it's supposed to be used for fiction writing, but I don't care. I had a 53 day streak going until I completely forgot to write a few days ago. Hope that doesn't happen again.
I so need to remember to do this! I LOVE 750words! And then it's only less than 1k to your daily WC goal. My longest streak has been 7 days I think. I need to start writing there more!
I just adore this site. I sign up for the monthly challenges every month, which gives me that extra incentive to write every day (don't want to end up on the Wall of Shame!). I'm addicted to the stats, too. This is the first NaNo I've done while using the site, but I'm going to try to write through it this year
I've been on this site for only a couple of days and I've already written 3,000 words! This is really going to help me with my NanoWrimo novel in November!
I've been using this site on-and-off since late last year and I've really enjoyed it. The badges give me some incentive to try and stick to my writing habit and the stats you get for each entry just increase my addiction.
I would strongly recommend anyone who hasn't already tried it to give it a go.
Does anybody know if Buster will be setting up 750 Words for NaNoWriMo '11? I didn't do NaNoWriMo last year, but I got into 750 Words back in September. It would be awesome if it was set up like that though. Would be a lot easier for me to write all my words in one setting.
He has a badge for NaNo. From what I understand, as long as you hit 50k words in a month, you earn the achievement. I don't think that he's setting up anything more than that. But it could be a good idea! I like the patron system that he sets up, to where if you're a big fan, you can pay to see new features. :] Or at least suggest them.

I love this site, too. I have a 180-something day streak going on. It's awesome.
Re: 750 Words
Awesome site! Before this, it would take me several days to write more than a thousand. Now I can write several thousand words in less than an hour!
Re: 750 Words
One of my favourite blogging/writing platforms, I just have to pick it up again, as a nice warm-up for NaNo...

THis... seems completely awesome! I love the stats!
Re: 750 Words
OH. I forgot all about this site! How did that happen?
Time to get back to it!

Re: 750 Words
Yeah, at least judging by the stats, it seem like it's more intended for journaling. It's great for everything, though.

Re: 750 Words
I just started doing this...will see how far I can continue. I should be able to do 750 words everyday, at least up until November starts.
Re: 750 Words
I love this site! It is amazing and showed me that I can write 750 words in ten minutes. Perfect practice for NaNo. :)
Re: 750 Words
I just discovered this site 4 days ago and I LOVE it!!
It really really helps do a "brain dump" of all the random things running through my head before I get into focused writing mode.
Re: 750 Words
Last year they included a NaNo count of 1667 words a day I believe. Amazing site.
