Internet Blockers

I've seen these threads in years past, but a quick search through the archived forums yielded nothing.

I'm not sure about others, but one of my biggest distractions when I should be writing is the internet. As soon as I start to struggle even slightly with my writing, well, the next thing I know, I've pulled up the internet and I'm browsing some of my favorite sites.

An "Internet Blocker" is a good productivity assistant for people that share my problem. As far as I know, all of them can be bypassed, but it usually takes a bit of work, and it is just enough to interrupt that compulsive internet browsing. Basically, it keeps you honest.

In the November 18th NaNoVideo, Sarah mentioned Freedom (http://macfreedom.com/), which blocks the internet when you tell it to. You can download a free trial of it.

I use LeechBlock (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/leechblock/), which is an add-on for Firefox. I like LeechBlock because you can block your favorite websites at desired times, but still be able to novel-related things, like use an online dictionary or thesaurus, or do a search to learn about fusion rockets!

There are lots more out there. What Internet blockers are you guys using?

I sometimes used temptation blocker. http://sourceforge.net/projects/temptblocker/

It doesn't just work for the internet but whatever software you have on your computer which is perfect for me because my biggest distraction has always been solitaire.

But I like the sound of LeechBlock, I'll have to give that a try.
