what are you working on now?

Well my nanowrimo was a fail...

But I'm moving on and such. i'm working on mini projects right now; mainly focusing on practing art and writing in cartooning (gotta work on my art skills...)
One is kinda secret for right now. The other is a comedic, cutesy one that pokes fun at certain aspects. Mainly a cat-human singer with an girly airhead personality who competes against a fox idol in a rival company.

Enough about me. I WANNA KNOW WHAT YOURE DOING!!! TELL ME!!!!!

I'm going to sit back and think how I can improve my failed nano story. Failed because I didn't reach 50k; in terms of content I think this is the most interesting story I came up with as of now. So I'm going to revise, add, and polish it until I feel like this is the best I can do, and then have a few people read it to see if it's worth the pain of trying to get an agent. :) I'm very excited about it.

I didn't reach 50k either. The story just is not a novel length story. But I'm working on one now that maybe, maybe(hopefully) is. I'll find out when I finish it. I like the characters, and the setting. Still smoothing out the details, but that's part of the work and fun.

I'm still working on my NaNo novel. It's up to about 60k now, but I just can't seem to finish it haha. It's kind of frustrating because I wanted to finish the rough draft in December, but with exams coming up that is not looking very likely. I'm kind of looking forward to starting something new as well, although I don't have anything but a few vague ideas.

I'm concentrating on my Nano project. I tend to have a tendency to start and never finish something. So I'm trying really hard to finish this. And I think it's a good storyline, so I'm really wanting to get it published one day (hopefully ready in 2012). I've got a lot of different stories I was working on prior to Nano, but my Nano is the most likely to appeal to a wide range of audiences.

Me too. Mostly, this consists of staring at the last sentence I wrote three days ago, wishing that every writer got one scene per book that would write itself. I thought about working on something else for a while and then going back to it, but I'm afraid if I do that, I'll never get back to it.

I'm trying to finish my NaNo novel. I hit 50,000, but didn't finish the plot. My goal is to write another 25,000 in December, and strangely enough that's been harder so far. Some of the things I ignored during November are demanding time and attention again, plus there's all the holiday stuff going on...but I'm still hopeful about finishing by the end of the month!

I'm a bit worried, because I have plenty of ideas in my head, but making a nice novel out of them is hard. My sister thinks I'm dumb for doing this, since I'm only fourteen, but by next November I'll be fifteen, and I think I'll be fine.

Taking a break from my novel, only for the fact that I have other things to do. I'll revisit it in January.

I finished up a long outstanding freelance job, began organizing my office (that's quite an undertaking), moved furniture, and will be getting into some long missed gaming done; including Portal 2 and Skyward Sword.

I also have a website that seriously needs revamping and a big coding upgrade. That will also be mixed in with how I spend my time in January... I think it'll be CDs+Nano or Top Gear+Dreamweaver. Either one is going to be good.

I'm pondering starting the second of my series, the first of which was my NaNovel, in January. I would haver started this month, however, I told myself I was going to take a break for a full month before returning to edit my first work and begin the second.

The third and final installation will be my NaNovel for next year's WriMo.

I am not at 50K yet, but I am hoping to finish this draft by the end of next week. Then I go back to marketing the first novel in the series, which I self-published in August as an ebook and revising #2, while I hopefully sell enough of #1 to afford a professional editor. The good ones aren't cheap!

Finally got my ending to the exact way I want it, which took forever and lots of working of different themes and angles. So I'm just going through and finishing my rewrite.

I am going to be editing the first book. I figure it'll end around 60K words. That'll be, what, 240 - 250 noveling pages? Somewhere around there. But I'm setting it aside for a bit while I work on the first draft of the next book in the series. Then I'll edit and send the second book in the series out for critiquing. Then it'll probably be around summer and I'll finish the last book in the series during Camp Nanowrimo. After that? Lots of research on islands and stuff to make my Adventure Cliche story for next nano a go.

I think I've figured out the problem (hopefully) and I'll be able to get it done in the next week or so. I was going to try and throw it out for critique before I posted it to the blog, but life has been against me to it's going up as is… It's scheduled to go up for posting on my blog starting January 2nd (it's a serial story)—at this point I'll settle for 'done' and not 'polished.' *sighs*

So, erm, of all goes well next week I'll be able to come back here and change my answer! :D

I'm only 26K into it (if it were November I'd be finished by now) but during the NaNo off-season I always give myself three months to get a draft done - and this includes editing. So I'll probably be working on getting a final draft for this done by March -le shrug-

I decided to do 60k/60 days so I'd been torn between writing a story that I've been working on for over a year or coming up with a fresh idea. In the end, I've chosen to go with a fresh idea. Normally, I write fantasy but my new idea will be my first crack at sci-fi.

So now I've got 7 days to get ready for this writing challenge. So I need to do some outlining, character building, world building, finding a damn word count tracker (with progress chart!) for January and February... all that pre-nanoing jazz.

I'm now embarking on the first really silly, slightly pointless but fun project I've done in a while. One of my guy friends who's a writer thought it would be fun to do a collaborative story. So he enlisted me, two of my girl friends who also write (although none of them are quite as hardcore as me), and another guy friend who doesn't even write but just sort of got dragged along, to work on a project (although we had no idea what it would be). This whole idea started at lunch, and by the end of the day, we had a basic sketch-out of ourselves as members of a secret agency within our high school. It's completely ridiculous, but it's going to be so much fun.

Working on editing my Nano novel from 2010. It was never divided into chapters when I was originally writing it, so I'm currently in the process of doing that, plus removing a subplot that added nothing to the story.

Other than that, beta reading for people on fanfiction.net; coming up with new story ideas (which is ALWAYS happening); working on other writing projects that I really need to get back to, etc.

I'm trying to do something I've never done before: PLAN!!!!! My last attempt was an epic fail because i never planned out what was going to happen, i just let it happen randomly, and it was a big heap of tangled knots and twists. I'm hoping to turn things around and win this year!! So this time i have a basic plot line figured out, and i'm working on improving it.

Right now I'm trying to complete the editing for my three NaNo's last year. It's a bit slow, I hate editing my own work. So as another project to keep me doing something writing related that I actually want to, I'm in the process of planning an entirely new novel, that I may or may not save for Camp June. I haven't decided yet. I figure I probably won't have the patience to wait, but I'm rather excited to be planning again.

So... I gave up on NaNo. It was my first time, and I have an attention span of one. So, basically, 50k words was too much.
Now, I'm working on a novel currently about a girl's quest for her brother's murderer. It's set in the old West and has a *very* big twist in it (: when that's through (or before, if I get bored,) my next novel will be about this virus released into a small community, and the quest for the cure that follows.

Editing -.-
Though not the novel I was working on during NaNo, that one's not even near finished.
When I need a break from that - fanfiction :) I have ideas for a couple oneshots, but I have two longer WIPs, one for NCIS and one for Silent Hill (in the planning stage so far, first chapter almost done), both of which I really like working on.
Oh, I so hope no-one digs out my fanfiction until I'm a well-established author... no-one would take me seriously, but I like writing fanfic :(
Damn that stigma of not being a serious writer &gt;.&gt;

Argh, plot bunnies. I have two. Well, three, one of which I really don't feel like writing. Sadly, one of my plot bunnies magically formed a plot already and I'm trying to resist writing it by writing it's basics down somewhere else where hopefully I can figure out what I was talking about later. Sadly, I have a bad habit of picking things back up and sitting there for ten minutes wondering what the heck I was talking about...I should probably work on elaboration...^^

I'm currently procrastinating by munching on gummy bears and playing mahjong online haha.

What I'm supposed to be doing is working on my Nanovel. Yesterday I too out the crap that was written in the haste to get words down (never doing that again), and doing a major rewrite. So now my novel has shrunk down to 16k. Bleh. On the bright side, I'm feeling my interest in it picking back up.

Though I did manage to finish NaNo, (my first year here!), my original plan to edit it came up as a fail. Right now I've started a blog and doing some side writing. I've got a few characters I wanted to play around with and see if I can get a novel out of them. So i've been doing mini-stories or concept scenes to see if they will work out or not.

Of course this is besides the time i spend on my new ps3 i got for christmas and the bagpipes I'm trying to play so i can get into the pipe band this summer. LOL, i seem to have a lot on my plate this year.

Re: what are you working on now?

Nothing at the moment. I lost my job during Nano and had to move back in with my parents. December consisted of looking for a job and sending time with family. January has consisted of interviews and looking for apartments, and is now going to consist of moving again. Everything should be settled by the end of the month though, so I'm planning on rewriting my 2010 Nanonovel, that I had wanted to work on after Nano ended but, well, see above. I was thinking about doing 60k in 60 days in February and March, since they will be 60 days together too. Not so much as to distract me from the new job, but enough to get me moving towards that finished draft. Anyone with me?

When I have time I'll flesh out my failed Camp and NaNo novels, which I have far from given up on, and I'll try to sort out my most recent original bunny. But I have no time right now so I'm back to my 11-months-of-the-year stable writing activity; fanfiction. I'm actually making headway with that; only 1 more to finish until they're all done and I can work on a new one. Oh, and I'll be figuring out what makes fanfiction so much easier to write than even the most fleshed out original story... hopefully.

Still working on my NaNo novel. Plodding along slowly, a couple hundred words a day, but I'm actually managing to write nearly every day. That's one of my big goals for this year - keeping up the daily writing. And finishing "Goblins". I don't think I'll actually edit it, but I want to reach the end of the story for once.
This is the first year I wasn't totally disgusted with my NaNo at the end of the month. The other three were put aside never to be looked at (or at least, worked on) again.

I'm working on alot of books right now, actually. Not all at once though, of course haha. But I write about 5k a day as my goal in two books (multitasker for life) each. Right now I'm writing a romantic tragedy (Let's just say a girl is going to die from a disease) and also a fantasy murder mystery (Let's just say that Tinker Bell lets her inner demon out once and for all). And I'm also working on the third and final trilogy of the Sanhilton Academy series. So that's what I'm writing now haha. Wish me luck! And I wish all of you luck as well. :)

I had really hoped my answer would have changed since January, but I'll still chugging along on <a href="http://www.martha.net/online-novels/serial-stories/the-wolves-we-are/" rel="nofollow">The Wolves We Are</a>… which is now a week behind on the posting schedule. Darnitall. But on a good note, only 3k left to go in the planned outline. So, erm, getting there!

With luck this weekend will signal the end of Wolves and the beginning on <a href="http://www.martha.net/online-novels/serial-stories/three-tequila-floor/" rel="nofollow">Three Tequlia, Floor</a>—but I'm not holding out much hope. :P

Ah well, time to follow a wild tangent and work on the Script Frenzy outline some more! ^_~ hehehe

My story, of course. I'm stressing about school, of course. Need to take a vacation, of course. (Don't we all?)
Overall, life is great!
I've been the furthest in this story than I've ever written independently, and I'm almost at the 200th Microsoft Word page. (Yay!) I'm planning to finish this story by next November, considering I missed this one, and do the sequel for the NaNo. So far so good, and if I finish this book I swear I'll be the happiest person on earth.
I SO joined at the wrong time (Right after November) But the forums are still the best writing community I've found.

I will soon start rereading my Nano-novel again. I wanted it to rest a little so I can read it with new eyes.

I don't really have a new writing project, well I have started on some sort of sequel but it's just warming up to get to know some new characters. I don't really have a plan or anything. It will hopefully be my next NaNo-project.

My German-studies take up most of my time. I really want to do NaNo in German some time... but 2012 may be too soon. I don't know yet.

Re: what are you working on now?

Well, I started the 60k/60 days challenge on the first, like I talked about in my last post (page 3) but instead of rewriting my '10 Nanonovel like I was planning, I am writing a fanfiction that transformed from the long month-long beast I had been thinking about the last week or two into a short story that I am hoping to have a working draft of within the week so I can move onto another project. I have a lot of stories waiting in the wings, a few originals and a few shorts, and today I remembered another story I was thinking about a lot last month. So I might be doing Script Frenzy this year, only it will be a script for a graphic novel (or web comic anyway) instead of a play or movie. Maybe.

I started the 60k/60 days on Feb 1 also, which is a sequel to my NaNo '11 novel. Hoping to get 90k in these 60 days and have a complete novel by April 1. (If I finish early I'll do Script Frenzy, but I doubt I will otherwise!) Also doing an in-depth edit on my NaNo novel, hoping to get that finished in the next week and start sending queries. (yikes) Unfortunately I didn't have much time in January to research for this one, so I'm having to do that each day for awhile, too. If I can push through and get that wrapped up by the end of the weekend, or at least the end of next week, I'll have a lot more free time!

I'm now taking a class examining religion, witchcraft, &amp; rituals...while trying to come up with an idea for June &amp; August (if I want to participate in Camp) and working on my fanfiction. AND we're supposed to be moving within the next couple of months.

Okay, I'm almost done with the final revision of "The Seraphim Protocol", only a few more chapters to rewrite/edit. Then I was going to start on "Advent Overkill" about a dystopian future where werewolves and vampires are being hunted down by a new species of shapeshifters called the Vargr . . . BUT . . .

I just had a plot bunny go all "Watership Down" on the others even though it's malnourished. In the future, maybe even tomorrow, a 20 mile wide asteroid hits France. I won't go too far into it, but it's a mix between "Soylent Green" and "Logan's Run", but much more extreme with a Government that truly is benevolent, but doing the only thing they can come up with.

I put it off for about two months and a half, so it's about time. :P I would love to write another novel at a more relaxed pace, but I have two problems. One, I have no inspiration, and two, if I try to write on my own free time, it never gets done. I work best under the pressure of a deadline.
