So, what is everyone doing at this point? What things are you writing? What are you doing for the next NaNo? I'm currently working on a novel about a plantation owner's wife who gets tangled up in the underground railroad. It takes place in the antebellum South, one year before the Civil War. And, in honor of it's one hundredth anniversary, a collection of short stories taking place on the night the Titanic sunk. I'm entitling it Nearer, My Go, To Thee, the last song played on the Titanic. And for next year's NaNo, a sequel to my first novel.
Hey your projects sound pretty interesting! Super cool.
I'm STILL trying to finish my November novel. I keep getting new ideas, which is cool and all, but wow it might be time to just finish this beast. I'll probably be rewriting it through spring, hopefully have something submittable by the time Nanowrimo rolls around again. That's my goal!
I'm also working on other projects -- tying up loose ends on a poetry manuscript. When I handed it off to Publisher, I felt this sadness that it wasn't in my hands anymore, so now I'm writing a new one X-D
For next year's Nano, I've already got a rough idea. I'm writing not quite a sequel of my first one, but sort of. I can't wait to start mapping out the plot! I love my M.C. too much to let her go completely, so she's being resurrected into a new body. Heh. Heh. Heh.
The important thing? That we're still (and always will be!) writing.
Well, I have Multiple Story Disorder, so I have a few in progress. My NaNo project (and 60 day?60k Jan-Feb, AND 60 day/60k Feb-Mar project) is Full Metal Jackie and the Mohten Sugra. This story is about a SWAT sniper who is trying to find out what happened to her brother, who is currently MIA, while fighting a bunch of Mohten Sugra (Monsters of Power). My other big project that I'm working on is called Hellspawn: The Ifrit King. This is about a world similar to ours, but demons share this world with us. A teenaged human discovers that he has the fire powers of an ifrit, and joins a tribe of ifrits and the half-blooded halfrits to learn to control his powers.
Of course, since CountryGirl13 brought up the Titanic, I thought about the movie, which made me think of the steerage band in said movie. That band, Gaelic Storm, is one of my favorites, and I would like to write a story using there songs as inspiration. Slim Jim And The Seven Eleven Girl, Never Drink 'Em Dry, Don't Go For "The One", and Don't Let The Truth Get In The Way Of A Good Story would definitely find their way into that story.
Right now I'm still editing my NaNo novel from November, and hoping that it'll be completely finished by time the next NaNo rolls around, as I'm writing a sequel to it then. But I'm also in the process of planning out a story that I'm determined to write (but right now it's so rough it hardly even makes sense). But, basically it's about this girl named Thistle who discovers that she is a witch, and is roped into this circle of female assassins. The rest of the plot is... just rough, ha.
At the moment I'm writing a short novel about two psychopathic (well, one is and one's kind of not) serial killers getting into trouble. I'm having a lot of fun with it. Currently at about 12,500 words. Planned it to be around 20k.
Well lets see, I'm working on a hat, a sweater, a few blankets, a scarf, a shawl.... Oh, Writing? Oh, well, for that I'm working on a few things. King Of the Mountain and Phoenix Squad are in editing, the night marchers (a short story) is being started, as well as Knitpocolypse:Zombie Invasion, and Remembrance.
So A further break down King of the Mountain: Reading through, deleting weird things, rewording. This is the large amounts of Death novel. It's based on the King game that children play on hills, but the entire society is controlled by this, and its kill or be killed. Or be a slave. Phoenix: The tale of Four paramedics, facing off against each other, as two of them claim that a monster is real, and the boys don't believe them. Only problem is, if the monster is real, how do you fight all those teeth that are out to eat your soul? The Night Marcher: Based on a Hawaiian Legend, of a spirit that takes people away that cross them on their night march. Knitpocolypse: Zombie Invasion. Knitters vs. Zombies. Just take that in. Remembrance: The tail of a graduating class going through the aftermath of a school bombing, in which three of the 11 students in their program die.

Dude, both of those sound extremely epic and awesome. ^^
@Angryman: I'm glad I'm not the only one with random trains of thought! I'm glad I have inspired you.
