fictional memoir

Hi all! My name is Nikki, 28, and this is my second time doing nanowrimo.. This year i'm writing a fictional memoir about a little girl who tries to kill her older sister and is then convinced she's going to hell and whips herself into a religious frenzy to avoid doing so. I'm writing it from the pov of her adult self and I'm thinking I'm going to be heavily influenced by Darcey Steinke's _Jesus Saves_ and by _The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time_. Character driven but not without plot. Sound mainstream? Would you read it? Thanks!

I would certainly read it - and will if you want to do a novel swap?! That sounds likea very interesting book, although I've only heart of the Dog in the Night Time - if you can pull it off I think it would be brilliant.

I hope to pull it off, only I have tremendous plot development issues. Always have. So we'll have to see! I'm planning ahead this year hopefully that will help. If I do manage I would like to do a novel swap! I've never done one, so that would be very interesting.

Re: fictional memoir

Written from the POV of a middle-aged man, he basically is finding stories about his dad who recently died. Just simply stories here are there, some from his dad's childhood, some from WW2, some from his job, and so on.
I had another plot outline all set up this year but the characters were very dry. They were all the same, you know?
So I'm writing this one instead.

Does fictional memoir mean you're writing a memoir based on a fictional character, or does it include taking your experiences and writing them in a fictional way?

I want to write a fictionalized version of my pregnancy and what led me to placing my son for adoption, but I'm not really sure where that falls.

Hi, I managed to hit 50k last year with a fictionalised memoir in the third person (He did this and that...etc) and I am now going to try a similar memoir but in the first person so I can write about 'my' feelings. I've read that writing from 'I' is difficult and I am looking forward to the challenge but does anyone have any tips/insights/advice that may smooth my path to the summit?

This is my first year doing this project.

I am writing a fictional memoir: its the fictional character's memoir but is written like a novel. She's a young woman who is trafficked out of the country. It starts off with her background: family, school, previous relationships then moves into her being trafficked then rescued to later write this novel. The preface kind of raises the question of is it really her story, or just a story that she wrote. Its based on my graduate research on trafficking women.
