Okay, so here's the deal. A lot of my story takes place somewhere that won't be revealed until the end, so I don't want anything given away in the description. Tell me honestly, do you know what place I'm describing?

Is that what you would say this is? Keep in mind that a lot of this description is layered with Nick's own view on where he is, and he's VERY convinced this is the mansion belonging to that family.

Yes? No? Any guesses where he is? The reason I'm asking is this is the big surprise at the end and I want it to be a big shock to readers if I publish this someday.

Seriously, though, there aren't a whole lot of buildings that are so well-known that a description will give them away. I think you're fine. Even if I guessed it, I was just throwing stuff out there.
