Today I am starting a blog about the revision process for my NaNovel from 2011. I'll be posting one of the original scenes at the beginning of every week, and a revised version of the scene later in the week. This will keep me busy, and ensure that I don't just leave my novel from last fall to rot. If you want to follow to shout encouragement or ridicule me if I fall behind, you can find me at TalesofNaNoWriMo.tumblr.com.
In addition to this somewhat out there idea of a revision blog, I am also working on a sequel to a novel separate from my NaNovel. The sequel will be to the novel that I entered in ABNA a couple of weeks ago. I don't expect that first book to go all the way (although if it did I wouldn't turn down that contract) but I want to keep working on that series because I think it is going to be awesome.
Just remember that if you post very much of your novel online in a public blog (vs a private one), it will be considered "published" should you want to get it published. Not sure what the guideline is exactly, seems like I read somewhere else on the forums that it was more than a chapter... or less. I'm not sure - look it up, just to be sure!
jswwrites is correct. If you post your manuscript on a blog you are giving up first publishing rights. No publisher will touch it after that. If you will be self-publishing, this might win you some fans. However, don't put too much of it up or those fans will have already read it and will not buy your ebook.
