A continuation of what I had started in the prior NaNoWriMo forums.
I've self-published my three books in paperback and Kindle (and Nook, and other e-reader) formats. And I like to read!
So: Either PM or comment with your e-book. I'll buy it. I'll read it. I'll leave a review. If you do the same for me, THANK YOU in advance!!
My books are an urban fantasy madcap action/adventure series about a group of fighters who have to serve as the intergalactic CSI of the civilized universe. They fight, fly, and have every possible human trait a non-human can have.
Sounds great :) My first novel, Rebellion, is on Kindle at http://www.amazon.com/Rebellion-Chronicles-of-Charanthe-ebook/dp/B0046REJXW/ (also in the other major e-reader stores). It's a fast-paced fantasy adventure, about 142k. The sequel will be out in a couple of weeks.
I've got a bit of a different genre. But my 2010 NaNoWriMo efforts have turned into the kindle book The Nonlationship.
Ellis has dated them all: straight women, gay men, herds of the emotionally unavailable. She finds herself in therapy amidst a quarter life crisis, after spending years in unfulfilling relationships with both men and women. Together with her therapist Phil, she recounts her romantic history uncovering a pattern of attracting exciting but rejecting partners. Whether they are men who fear intimacy, closeted lesbians, or people currently in other relationships, Ellis unfailingly falls for the wrong person. Phil opens Ellis to the possibility that her suffering comes from reenacting something called the repetition compulsion, a psychological phenomena that defines the moment a moth is drawn to a flame. Fighting against her negative dating pattern and her poor body image, Ellis is not sure if she has the strength to give up her attraction to romantic poison even with Phil's support.
Also, question: fReado has only Book 1 on their previews. How would I go about getting Books 2 and 3 onto there as well? I'm even thinking of uploading teasers from Book 4.
I'd be grateful to anyone checking out my urban fantasy novel, and DOUBLY grateful for any reviews. Since the August release of the ebook, I've averaged some OK sales and collected a few very nice reviews.
By Darkness Revealed is a contemporary fantasy about a Ryan, young man who's left home for college, hoping to leave behind a troublesome talent - he can see magical energy and has some small skill with crafting that energy into real effects. But it's caused him nothing but trouble. A military college - surely that will keep him out of magical trouble!
His hopes are crushed almost immediately. The college sits squarely on the largest ley line nexus he's ever seen. And when strange, then dangerous events begin to occur, Ryan realizes that he is the only person around with the knowledge and skill to stand between a powerful darkness and everyone around him.
I have an estory on Smashwords, The Hero Cleanup Protocol, at http://www.smashwords.com/books/view/51667 and if you use the Coupon Code JJ47F you should download the book for free (coupon good until Nov.1).
Do you read YA historical fantasy? I'd trade reviews with you. I love SciFi CSI sounds right up my alley. Here is a description of my story: Urchin King
I just bought your book. Now, I need NaNo to be over so I can start reading. I'm not good at writing and reading at the same time. ;-) I'll let you know asap if I liked your story.
Are you interested in reading a dark YA novel about mermaids? The first book in my series is on Amazon now, and I'm working on the next installment for NaNoWriMo. Here's the link: http://www.amazon.com/Black-Waters-Songstress-Trilogy-ebook/dp/B005AHO7PW
I like science fiction, so I'll check you're book out after NaNoWriMo is over.
Okay. SO far, I have read and reviewed: - By Darkness Revealed - Vampires Don't Drink Wine - How to Get a Literary Agent in Two Murders or Less - Rebellion (The Chronicles of Charanthe) - The Hero Cleanup Protocol
From last year's forums, also reviewed: - Charming Academy - Grey Areas - Stuck In Estrogen's Funhouse - The Untold
Thanks, all, for your stories!! Now that NaNo had wrapped up, I can review all the other ones in my Kindle waiting to be read! And, of course, accepting more books for review!
The Bers have ruled Mierenthia with fire magic and an iron fist for hundreds of years, but now their magic is failing. The firepipes are dry. The firewells gape cold and empty, and the factories are shutting down. Light, warmth, and food are scarce. Strange creatures appear not only in the distant forests but even in the cities, the Bers' own strongholds.
Amidst this chaos arises Linden, a young commoner woman who dares oppose a Ber with forbidden magic of her own. She is joined by Rianor, the High Ruler of Qynnsent, who defies what the Bers call a noble's greatest responsibility. The two tamper with the half-ridiculed, half-forbidden idea of science and believe that there is more to science than the Bers and mentors would have people think.
Dominick, a young mentor, one of the priestly class who keep people from thinking aberrant thoughts, starts to question the Ber world even as he is trying to save it.
Merley, a young Ber woman who sees things that others cannot, saves a condemned boy and seeks out a reprobate old witch.
As these young people choose the paths rarely taken and make paths of their own, others try to pull their strings and shape the world according to their own wills.
And, let me just say...some of the best fiction that I have read in some years had come from this thread, and the NaNo forums overall. This is absolutely outstanding.
Quick reiterate, my books on Amazon are at http://amzn.to/tNgoif and my blog you can find at http://www.katherinegilraine.com
Just published my first ebook: Wind-Scarred on the kindle store. Give it a read if you like mildly distopian scientific oligarchies, people with elemental powers, and main character who want to change the world.
I would love it you reviewed my book. I've got a summary and an amazon link below.
Bloody Murder opens with aftermath of a murder discovery. Zofia Smith, bookstore owner and former journalist, tripped over a corpse that was on the stairs leading from her apartment and found her life turned upside down. In between dealing with being shot at, threatened and having her partner jailed, Zofia manages to put a few clues together and they lead to a man who's been dead for ten years.

Awesome, your series looks fantabulous and I'd love to read it. I'll try to cross off three books from my backlog this weekend.
In the meantime, here is a link to the first 30 pages to see if it's your cup of tea before you spend your dollar.
