I'm a little bit behind on mine today, but I've been busy. I'll catch up later tonight. I'm finally getting the story rolling and the characters are starting to live.
I was doing much better last year, but I'm at least meeting the quota.
Being active duty makes it tough to find the time to write and not just crash out at home after work. That's why I'm just holding my head above water before this weekend. (Will try to get myself ahead for next week...though duty on Sunday might kill that plan lol.)
I know what you mean! My unit is going trough preinspections getting ready for Corps and IG to come in and inspect us so by the time i get home all i want to do is pass out. It's day 4 now and i still haven't started. but we have a write in tomorrow and i can stay up all night... coffee is my best friend!
P.S. Any typos are left in due to the fact that i am not backspacing at all this month!
I am happy to say I am right on schedule at 6842. Last year in Afghanistan, I developed a habit of writing exactly 1700 words a night. Now, I find it has been very easy to keep that same habit.
It's been a struggle, but I'm getting there. I swore to write original for NaNo, but my Criminal Minds fanfic ideas are still harassing me.
The story is starting to get interesting, I finally put up a excerpt. Armored alien hero stops liquor store robbery and then demands the clerk teach him how to drive. Atlal/Nick doesn't realize he's leaning towards heroing, and the press hasn't named him yet. Meanwhile, a ICE agent with mental powers is trying to find him.
I'm still a little bit behind, but the weekend is coming (I work Tuesday through Saturday) and I'll have plenty of time to catch up. And get ahead, since I get my wisdom teeth removed Thursday.
Mine is going well also. It feels like old ground and I'm adding material just where I feel like it's been missing. Hopefully that will turn into a fully complete novel by the end of this month (with follow-on revision, that is). I'm about 11 days ahead, according to the tracker, but I've been pushing to hit a 2,500/day word count to see if I can push myself to 75k. I haven't really gotten past 57k in the past NaNos. I wanted to get to 100k last year, but the book wasn't fleshed out enough.
So far so good, managed to stay on top of the daily goal, looking to get ahead tho, sorta shot myself in the foot on that when I napped one day instead of writing...
It's going poorly. OPTEMPO has sucked b*lls since October 31 and when I do get a writing chance I can't seem to settle down and get in the freakin' groove. Usually the words flow. Now they're moving like pond scum (to quote one of my Drill's from waaaaaaayyyy far back).
Am on target and trying to get ahead, so I can have some lighter days during Thanksgiving weekend when we travel. I knocked out 2400 words yesterday and am trying to stay on the 2000 mark for the next few days. I've done the math and it takes me roughly an hour to knock out 500 words.
Storywise, it's moving along quite nicely - and even get surprised when my characters revealing stuff about themselves that I didn't even know... hahaha. I keep a lose outline to keep me on track, but scenes just flow and stuff happens when I least expect it. Quite interesting.
The tough part for me is, getting started with my writing for the day (oh, need to catch up on this and that before I start.) and keeping distractions at bay so I'm not tempted to get up from my chair every 10 minutes (I'm thirsty, music sucks, I got a chill...)
Still plugging along at 1700 words a day. Today, though, it took me forever to get there. We've had some bad weather roll in and it's making my joints hurt. I've got no focus.
Mine is going slower than normal. I've found it harder than I thought to focus on writing right after moving country. I'm getting there though :) this week will be full on writing (fingers crossed!).
Last week I got sidetracked a lot, then my husband and I were out all day Friday for an air show for Veterans Day and 100 years of Naval aviation (hubby is USAF but the Navy base isn't far from us). Then in a week we're flying out to see his family for Thanksgiving - my first Thanksgiving ever! Lol so I guess I really only have just over one week to write my novel now....that's put things into perspective!
I've been busy with work and it'll only get worse as we get closer to the Christmas. But I'm determined to finish 50k by the end of the month. I'm approximately 16k in.
So, how are the novels going?

How is everyone else doing?

Oh, God, forgive my typos... should've read what I wrote before I pushed submit... ;-)

42500 down, 7500 to go!
I want to finish the 50K this week, so I can relax for Thanksgiving and all. Much writing to do!!
