I just want to say a big thank you to all of you out there who are serving your countries--and that includes family members (You serve, too!). Good luck during NaNo!

And a special shout out to Sailors out there! (I'm prior U.S. Navy. *g*)

I was thinking of making a thread like this, glad to see someone already has. I am by no means a patriot, and disagree greatly with war, but I have great respect for our soldiers.

So yeah, thanks for your service.

I want to thank you all as well. I love the military, (my brother and cousin have both served) and I want to let th current service members here know that they are in my thoughts and prayers.

Thankyou again for your service!

Thank you all for your service. I'm a military brat myself - my dad served - and my boyfriend is currently overseas in Iraq. I've always been aware of what our men and women have been doing for us, but I probably don't thank them nearly enough.

So again, thank you! And good luck on your novels this year. :>

Thank you for everything you've done for us. I often do not support war, but I always honor and support our men and women serving our country. You guys are awesome, so brave and strong, and inspiring. I wish you all the best and that your writing may give you a small haven, at least for November, if not a world to escape to for longer.

My dad was in the Air Force for most of his life, and was a Chief Master Sergeant before he retired. I cannot thank you for your service enough.

My grandfather joined the army shortly after WWII, but passed away from lung cancer about 20 years ago before I was born.

Either way, thank you for your service, regardless of the country that you are serving for. ♥

I have recently met a WWII veteran in the subway and was deeply affected by what he told me of the war. I want to thank all of you for your service, and to ask you to please come home.

Your lives are truly important to everyone that you know. The greatest honor for any soldier is to come home safely.

Thank you for doing a job I never could; physically or mentally.
Thank you for voluntarily signing up to do a service for our country.
Thank you for doing completely annoying things like hurry and wait -- and keeping a sense of humor while you do it.
And thank you for being willing to follow orders and doing things that risk your safety -- so that i can be safe.

Love always,
an army mom.
PS. Good Luck with your Nano Novels!!!!!! :)

Words seem inadequate to thank you for the sacrifices that you and your families have made.

When my dad was in Vietnam, my mother was a part of "Waiting Wives." I remember her going to weekly meetings and the moms doing stuff for us kids. Today, it must be "Waiting Spouses." I know that they all need and support each other in the same tight-knit way.

Please stay safe. I pray that there is not one more injury, casualty or death. Come home safe and sound. Without your service and that of the men and women before you, there might not be a NaNoWriMo. Because of our brave men and women we enjoy freedom of expression and the right to write and imagine whatever we want.

Your country loves you!

Like others have expressed, while I may disagree with many political and economic motivations for war, I very sincerely and GRATEFULLY acknowledge your importance to your countries and each individual in the countries you serve.

For the American soldiers participating in NaNo, I wish I could personally thank each of you for believing in our country so much that you serve and protect our rights to the best of your ability. I wish I could personally thank and comfort your families.

For all the world's soldiers participating in NaNo, it warms my heart to know that even in times of struggle, strife and war, life and love still dance through your art.

Thank you all so much!!! My dad was Air Force for 20 years and I think we had it easier than most military families. Your sacrifices for our safety are so tremendous I can't even fathom them sometimes! Thank you sooo much for all you go through for us.

Thank you all so much! We should never take for granted our freedoms, and your sacrifices for us to keep us free and safe.

I'm a MOM (Mother of a Marine). After five years and two deployments he's back home in civilian clothes. I'm thankful to have him home and safe, and I still pray for the safety and comfort of troops all over the world.

To the NaNoWriMo Marines - Happy Birthday on November 10th!

So it's 11/11, and whatever title you choose to give to today they all mean the same thing. Today is a day of remembrance, a day of recognition for armed forces and the role they play in letting us live safely and without fear. Words will never truly be able to describe the gratitude we have for you and the contributions to your country.
Thank you so much for enabling us to live in peace.

Thank you too to all those who have passed, and the sacrifices they made for us.
Lest we forget.

From a disabled vet, I thank the veterans who have left hearth and home to stand up for freedom. Many have died, become disables, suffered injuries. I am grateful to all of them.

For those on this thread who feel it necessary to also state their opposition to a particular war or some political disagreement, please save it for another day. Save today for saluting heroes.
