I love your cover designs! Would you mind doing mine? I'm having trouble coming up with ideas.

Title: Fugitive of the Fallen City

Author/Pen name: N/A

Subtitle (if any) N/A

Summary: Fairshore, an isolated, hidden, and magic-protected threshold, filled with people taught by values and honesty… One hundred years earlier, the knight Thogan Fairshore, escaped with his friends and family from the city Airathe to protect them. That is how Fairshore began, and it will probably never change from its strict and unbending ways. The Airathe City is dangerous… at least that is what Mavian Danth tells her.
But Zivaliya, a young woman with a divided heritage, finds herself feeling trapped inside this safe, slowly moving world. Stories of danger and adventures told by a friend who has been missing for seven years filled her head. If only, she could make a difference, somewhere.
Her wish is granted as she finds an injured mage, who landed in Fairshore while battling the cursed Hukkath, the demon whose black magic captivated the city. But before she could get help, Hukkath found his prey and spirited them both to his lair in Airathe City. Zivaliya and the other prisoners from different races managed to escape, but the mage sacrificed himself to distract Hukkath…
Now she was in the city.
Vowing to save the mage if he lived, and destroy the demon with the mysterious Shadow Dragons’ help, she realizes everything is much harder than it looks. She is dismayed with the people of the city; they had no values or love for the world around them. Each step of her way, she tries to make the people understand what they were missing. The Council of the Airathe City hated her for that. Under her guidance, the peasants were growing strong; even Hukkath’s black magic has been growing weaker...
Allies and enemies were everywhere, hidden behind their own masks, some wanted her dead, and others… were waiting patiently in the shadows. Waiting to unmask their true intentions.

Mood/Theme/Etc: Dark, mysterious,

Colors: Grayscale, maybe with a slight hint of pale blue.

Ideas/Pictures you want: Well, I was thinking of a medieval castle as the background. And maybe the silhouette of a girl(her age is seventeen). But other than that I’m not quite sure, I haven’t really thought much about the cover.

Title : Freefall
Author/Pen name: Kat Haley
Subtitle (if any)
Summary: Love is a force greater than anything you've ever imagined; it's nothing more than pretend.

2013.
The water has always called to Lara Vaugn. As a child, it robbed her of her sister. Now, as a girl of 17, it's everywhere. It's on her paintings on the wall; it's the color of the eyes she sees every day in the mirror. She knows its song and dance well; the only thing she's never seen before is its age.

1912.
The Titanic. The greatest ship the world has ever seen. Thomas Hindley, gentleman, had never seen such a vessel before. Another thing he's never seen the likes of is his sister's new friend's handmaid. She's different than the girls his family's name is associated with; there's something almost wild about her, yet contained in all the grace he sees every day. It's like she doesn't belong in his world of 1912. Does she?

It was a whimsical idea on her part, something she thought might help her think clearly. What she didn't know is that he was waiting, unaware, on the other side. Suddenly, violently, the artist and the gentleman are thrown into a freefall of lives, pasts, futures, and things they never thought were tangible.

Mood/Theme/Etc. : Drowning/near drowning, matchmaking, (self-)discovery, inter-era romance.
Colors: Blues, greens, silvers - things that are evocative of the ocean.
Ideas/Pictures you want: No specifications...

Title : The Heartless
Author/Pen name: Emma Yeo
Subtitle (if any)
Summary: Violet knew that the scientists looking for orphans to experiment on would one day kill her; she just didn't expect it to be so soon. And she didn't expect to wake up; less than half-human. No heart, no life - little more than some cruelly made semblance of a person; robotic and cold. They stole her life, but she will be damned if she lets them get away with it...
Mood/Theme/Etc. : Dark, light sci-fi/fantasy
Colors: Blues and purples
Ideas/Pictures you want:

Re: Against my better judgment... covers

Title : The Crucible

Author/Pen name: Larissa Jones

Subtitle (if any): Fractured Souls

Summary: A man going by the name CRUX begins a game to relieve his own boredom. This game soon turns deadly, as players face their own fears and watch others die around them, while some become possessed by creatures who represent the Seven Deadly Sins. When a new player named ARC arrives on the scene and begins a tournament of his own, the remaining players must help him reclaim those they lost or perish.

Mood/Theme/Etc.: Dark and mysterious, though perhaps a little light in there to represent hope?
Colors: Preference for darker colors that make you think of things that go bump in the night, again with that little ray of hope, but actual color scheme is up to you.

Ideas/Pictures you want: No preference. My random thoughts are that you could include Slender Man or the Rake (look up the Fear Mythos and you'll see what I mean). Also, an example of a picture that someone did based off of the roleplaying game this came from is here.

Re: Against my better judgment... covers

Title : Med en Drages Mod (It's Danish for : With the Courage of a Dragon)
Author/Pen name: Line G. Jensen
Subtitle: -
Summary:
“Have you ever heard of 'the dragonheart'?” he asked her directly and stopped, while he watched her, as she nodded to him.
“It is the term you use about the individuals that have a talent with dragons... and a strong need for dragons too.” he furthermore explained as he tried to make his way to the point, but he found it hard. Most people still saw the 'dragonheart' as being a myth and an impossibility. Still Torn watched Michaela with a serious gaze as he said:
“I think she's got it”

When Torn and Michaela adopted an abandoned child left on their doorstep, they never expected that the child would have the ability commonly known as 'The Dragonheart'. They also hadn't expected a child so stubborn and courageous that she would put her own life in danger for the one thing she loved more than anything else: Dragons.
When the king of Kilyen sends out a message to all of Kilyen's dragonbreeders- and trainers and demands them to kill all dragons because the animals are ”a danger to the people”, Emi throws herself into a dangerous journey toward the king's castle alongside with the babydragon Meek and the black dragon Panundum in order to convince the king that slaying dragons is the worst thing he can do, when the risk of a war with Actaia is threatening the peaceful existence in Kilyen. A war that Kilyen can not win without the dragons.
On the journey Emi meets the dragon-phobic homeless boy Travis and the authoritarian dragonrider Archer, who both accompany Emi on a journey full of conflict, treason and problems as she tries to save her country from the opressive reign of Actaia and save herself from dying as the dragons – Her reason to live - are being slaughtered.
Mood/Theme/Etc. : courageous! XD Not too happy and not too sad.
Colors: Red/orange ish colors would be marvelous!
Ideas/Pictures you want: Well, it's all about dragons, so placing dragons on the cover can't go entirely wrong ;D Also, my main character is a redheaded(curly and long) 17 year old female with green eyes, so if you have anything lying around of that sort, you could gíve it a try.
However, you are the artist and I am not, so if you have any other great ideas, please just give it a try, aye? ^^'

I'd love one of your covers. Let me know if you need more info, and thank you in advance.

Title : Transatlantic Telescope Club
Author/Pen name: C. J. Jefferson
Subtitle (if any) : n/a
Summary: I don't have a synopsis written up at the moment, but I'll include an excerpt below. Basically, the protagonist is a solipsist, and the novel is the story of how she slowly starts to believe that the world does, in fact, exist outside of her own head. (Kind of a dark romance.)
Mood/Theme/Etc. : surreal, unearthly
Colors: any
Ideas/Pictures you want: possibly a starry night above a field? or something that combines an amateurish telescope and a 1930s style airplane? I'm kind of having trouble thinking of ideas, as the plot is kind of difficult to explain. I'm pretty much open to anything, though. Let me know if you want more details, or I can try to come up with better ideas. Or a real synopsis.

Excerpt (sorry, it's kind of long):

My name is Casey Holmes. I was born on the 24th of November in the year 1989 in a small town on the outskirts of Reno, Nevada. My parents weren’t rich, but they lived decently enough. My mother, Olivia Bennett Holmes, was an architect through and through. She always wanted to design a skyscraper, but living in Sparks, she never got the chance. She met my father in college, and his ambitions—or lack thereof—kept her sequestered in the small town. Her greatest achievement was designing the Northwestern Nevada Regional Bank headquarters. She didn’t want kids, but my father, who had captured her heart so completely, convinced her that one child wouldn’t be so terrible. George Oswald Holmes was an architect by training but a pilot in practice. He didn’t fly with any of the major airlines, didn’t believe in them. He flew with a smaller local line. He had his own plane. I think he fancied himself something of an old-time aviator explorer. Charles Lindberg or Amelia Earhart or something. In his free time, he would set himself these crazy goals, and of course, it was one such impossible, insane goal that resulted in his (inevitable, wasn’t it?) death. He wanted to circumnavigate the globe in his 1930s-style aircraft. He took my mother with him—or she insisted that she go with him, one or the other. Their plane was lost in a storm over the Atlantic. The wreckage was never found. I was twelve.

After that, I lived with my father’s brother Alfred, who also lived in Sparks. I went to Edward C. Reed High School, where I maintained a 4.0 GPA through my junior year. I was the editor of the school newspaper, captain of the debate team, and president of the French club. They thought I was the future. I fell in love with my best friend, Rachel Will. She wore yellow sundresses and red lipstick on a perpetual smile. She owned a telescope and had an obsession with Carl Sagan. She was going to be an astrophysicist, find life extraterrestrial life, win a Nobel Prize in physics and—

And I’m getting ahead of myself. Well, I’m getting behind myself, but the point is that I shouldn’t ruin the suspense. All you need to know is that Rachel was my girlfriend, for two short months. Then she died. My grades dropped. Instead of Harvard or Yale or Princeton or wherever the hell I’d been headed, I went to the University of Nevada at Reno. I stayed there for one short semester before I’d had enough. I didn’t care anymore. The world was gray and gloomy and fucking desolate, even when the sun was out. I needed to get away. I needed out. I needed to be somewhere where no one knew me, not even myself.

So I took a bus to Las Vegas’s McCarran International Airport. I decided to buy a one-way ticket on the first domestic flight out of the state. So that was how I ended up in West Philadelphia, in a tenement near University City, designed for unfortunate college students. When my funds ran out, I got a job at a local newspaper, The Philadelphia Inquisitor, not to be confused with The Philadelphia Inquirer. By day, I did odd jobs, such as sorting mail and answering phones and making coffee, at minimum wage. At night, however, I wrote. I’d been an English major, though I had already written seven plays, and I didn’t believe—still don’t—that a college degree is necessary for any artistic profession. I was planning to quit my crappy newspaper job as soon as my writing career took off, but I didn’t expect that to happen for a while. I hadn’t written anything great yet, and trust me, I did know what classified as great. I also knew I was capable of great; I just hadn’t done it yet.

Re: Against my better judgment... covers

Title : Death of Icarus
Author/Pen name: C. Angelina
Subtitle (if any)
Summary: "I'm getting out of the business V, and I want you to come with me." Josh's offer is tempting, but it's one Veera knows she has to refuse. Management and the missions they order may be more than Veera would have wanted, but they grant her flight, and that's something she can't live without. Only the birds can fully understand that. Veera's half hawk herself, she knows. But sometimes escape isn't voluntary. Veera is shot down on one of her missions and captured by an underground movement. She's killed the leader's wife, but he offers forgiveness and a chance to make things right instead of the death she expects. But as the pressure grows between Management and the underground, Veera finds herself crumbling in the place she's always been - right in the middle. Even wings might not be enough to save her now.
Mood/Theme/Etc. : Not too dark, but not too light either. The story is about being caught in two worlds - literally. It's also about ration and irration, truth and lies. The title refers to the legend of Icarus and Daedalus, specifically drawing the parallel about flying somewhere you shouldn't.
Colors: Anything.
Ideas/Pictures you want: It could be kind of cool to have a winged girl falling, but whatever would be good. Veera's wings are metal and hawk-inspired. Not organic. It should have something to do with flight though, since that's Veera's major drive.

Title : The Six Swans
Author/Pen name: Teresa Davis
Subtitle (if any): n/a
Summary:
After the tragic death of her mother, Princess Sydnee Adeliene took over the responsibilities of the Adalaide Palace. She thought she knew what her purpose in life was: to take care of her six elder brothers and aging father. But when her father marries a witch and sends his seven children away to the confines of the unforgiving Cypress forest, her brothers are placed under a curse - one that turns them into swans. To save them, Sydnee must take a vow of silence for one year. Falling in love seemed out of the question. Love, however, cannot be confined by the inability to speak. The Six Swans takes the original Grimm Brothers tale and makes it come alive.
Mood/Theme/Etc. : The mood is rather magical, and yet still kind of modern. It's set around the renaissance era. But much of it takes place in a forest. The theme is obviously good conquers evil, as it is a reeling of a fairy tale, but it is also that you should forget yourself when others are in need of you.
Colors: Pastels. Though it takes place in a forest, it is still really bright. Blues, greens, pinks maybe? Haha I'm not really picky.
Ideas/Pictures you want: Swans are the central theme of the book, and it seems logical that they would be somewhere on the cover. White aster (star flowers) plays a large role if you want to include those in it. Castles, meadows, forests, fairy take items, etc. would work as well.

Re: Against my better judgment... covers

Title : Embers
Author/Pen name: R.L Howard
Summary: Avadora is the messiah, a human sent from the Gods with an aura to protect the Northmanni from their advanced rival tribe, the Catatones. The Northmanni haven't evolved like we have, they don't experience love or passion, and their ultimate desire is for survival. Avadora is human and has evolved like we have, and experiences these feelings and ultimately never really fits in with the Northmanni. While they worship her, they treat her like some sort of object only to be used for their gain, and as a result of this she becomes incredibly depressed. He subconscious transports her to Earth, our world where she awakes from a coma as someone else. She still has her memories from her previous world, and knows that she needs to get back because without her aura, the Catatones will be slaughtering the Northmnanni. But she has no idea how, and while learning the ways of this world, she learns a terrible truth about the destiny of her world and Earth. Getting back is now more important than ever, but what will she find when she does manage to return home? Will her home be destroyed to nothing but a city of embers, destroyed by the Catatones? And can she return to her Earth in time to save it too?
Mood/Theme/Etc. : I kind of want a dark mood, something kind of menacing and foreboding.
Colors: I'm not too sure, I was thinking there would be fire in it so red, and possibly a dark/black background.
Ideas/Pictures you want: I'm cool with whatever you think of, but Avadora has light-blue eyes, so I was thinking maybe somehow incoprating them into the cover with like fire reflecting in them? Really whatever you want.

Sorry for taking so long with this post~ Your covers are beautiful! :) I would love if you'd have a try at (one of)my novels!

Title: Death Sucks
Author/Pen name: Anne Shepherd
Subtitle (if any) Nope
Summary: Flo Jones is your stereotypical teen, living in Smalltown USA, with no aspirations or goals. Her life is-frankly- boring.
Her Afterlife, on the other hand, is anything but. After Flo is hit by a car on her way home from school, she wakes up in the Underworld, affectionately called Purgatory City, to find that Limbo has turned into H-e-double hockey sticks for any and all of the inhabitants who aren't in league with 'the Manager'. Food is strictly rationed, as are clothes, toys, cigars and alcohol. Flo joins a makeshift gang of bootleggers to try to combat the Manager, and along the way finds that her friends have dark secrets of their own. (First In a Series)
Mood/Theme/Etc.: I want it to be dark, but not overbearing (the story itself is largely comedic). Also, as the Underworld is 1920s-esque, I'd like some aspects from the 20s (sparkly headbands, martinis, gin, big bands, etc.)
Colors:No ideas whatsoever. You can have artistic licence with this one.
Ideas/Pictures you want: I would prefer that there aren't any people on the cover, as I like to let the readers imagine the characters for themselves. Otherwise, nope!

Thank you very much!

Re: Against my better judgment... covers

I saw from your portfolio that you have done a cover for a Harry Potter fanfic, so I'm hoping you'd be willing to try another one! Your covers are beautiful and I need a cover for this story because it's developing unexpectedly quickly. xD I am assuming based on that cover that you know at least something about Harry Potter, but if you are unfamiliar with any of the things I mention please don't hesitate to ask for clarification.

Title: Till Death Do Us Part
Author/Pen name: Blue Jewel Fanfiction
Subtitle (if any): The Deathly Hallows Trilogy: Book 1 (although it would look pretty cool if you put "The Deathly Hallows Trilogy" and then just a big "1" below that)
Summary: Voldemort will stop at nothing to achieve immortality. This time, he intends to make a deal with Death himself by sacrificing Draco Malfoy. But the plan goes awry when Harry Potter enters the realm of Death to rescue Draco. Harry and Draco must then make their way through the underworld to Death's Door in order to escape before it's too late to go back to the land of the living.
Mood/Theme/Etc.: Pretty dark and scary. I haven't worked out all the details but I'm sure some monsters will show up. It may also be useful to note that in the underworld, all emotions are heightened to extremes.
Colors: Dark colors, I don't know, probably red would be good, maybe some purples?
Ideas/Pictures you want: Death likes to appear as a figure in a black, hooded cloak, although he doesn't normally carry a scythe. That would be a good image to see. Some sort of ethereal door might also be appropriate. Images of Tom Felton and Daniel Radcliffe as Harry and Draco, or of other models that look like the characters, would also be fine, but are not necessary. Draco is the point of view character, so if you want to make one of them the center of the cover it should be him. ^^

Thanks in advance! P.S. If I really love the cover, I may try to find you again for the second and third books, so they can match. =P We'll see if you're still running this of course.

Re: Against my better judgment... covers

Title: Deathwatch
Author/Pen name: 9393usak
Summary:

Kara Clayton has ten seconds left to live.

A scientist who has been watching her from across the galaxy has fallen for her, and does not want her to die. So he disobeys all regulations to save her.

She awakens in a new world, in a different body. With no time to process, she is drafted into war. But this is a world where science fiction is barely distinguishable from reality, a world where races like elves, vampires, and angels are resurrected from elysian dreams and dark fantasy.

This is a world where anything can happen. With the willingness to succumb to the forces around her, Kara can remain safe- and happy- in this technological paradise. But Kara won't succumb.

Because a girl has just been shot before her eyes. Because she's been under an abusive rule for far too long. And because paradise comes with the price of ignorance, and this world is not all that it seems.

Mood/Theme/Etc.: Dark, redemptive, revolution, medical. Figuratively, Kara represents black while the scientist represents white. The idea being that neither one of them are able to see color.

Colors: Red or blue. I don't know how both would work in a color palate. And black and white.

Ideas/Pictures you want:

Okay, my attempts at trying to come up with design ideas have so far been ridiculous. I'll just throw some important plot images at you and see what sticks. :D

Kara starts off as a white girl with flawless skin, greenish-greyish eyes, and light, straight brown hair. She gets transferred to an Asian body with electric blue eyes, burn marks and stitches, and hair that looks like it's in a Chinese bun (without the chopsticks) that has a combination of black and brown highlights and a blue, papery ribbon running through it. The faces are so specific that I don't really know if you could do anything with them, but my first thought was to superimpose them and have a hospital in the background. There's a guy with wings in the story, so you could do a wing, though he's not the main character, so it'd be kind of strange to have that as the centerpiece. There are needle-tipped syringes filled with various colored gels. Kara has the power to control lightning, so you could do something with that. I don't know, anything you want to take from these or the blurb would be great. Sorry, I'm not very artistic. :P

Sorry for all the bad ideas, I don't really know what to do with this. :)

I loved the cover you already did for me so much that I wanted to request another (yes, I'm working on two novels simultaneously).

Title: White Rose
Author: C. Angelina
Summary: Rita Solano is on a mission. One that everyone thinks will take her life. But Rita intends to find Conner, the man who raped and killed her friend, or die trying. And if a few more rapists die along the way, well, now the streets are just a little bit safer. But Conner is slippery, and Rita's new identity as the White Rose isn't popular. At all.

Therese is the proud daughter of Jonathan Lockwood, the man who finally ended the White Rose's killing spree and brought her to justice. But when he and Theresa's mother both disappear, with only a bunch of dried white roses left as a clue, Theresa decides that it's up to her to rescue them. She enlists the help of Asher, who's only good point is that he has a car, and sets off on what she's sure will be an adventure worthy of the daughter of a great man.

Mood/Theme: Rita's story is very dark. Therese is characterized by a firm belief that her story is worth telling, simply because she's the daughter of a hero, so she should have heroic adventures too.

Colors: I'm thinking black and white, maybe red and green. Simple.

Images/ideas: Roses play a huge role in the story, but they have to be white. Rita and Therese are both dark-haired beauties (mother and daughter, but you're not supposed to know that yet.) I guess you pretty much have free reign. Just as long as it doesn't look Twilight-esque.

I think you have a spot open, sorry if I'm wrong. Your covers are amazing!

Book title: The Leaves of the Tree
Author name: HM Marable
Book Synopsis:Long ago a woman named Taimi brought magic to the Eastern lands. Her children in their turn brought that same magic to the continent of Roja, along with an admirable message of peace, tolerance and respect.
But the peoples of Roja were far from perfect, and in time that message was lost.

Now, the land lies fractured. People are fearful of those they once considered friends and allies.

The Leaves on the Tree is about the ordinary citizens of that continent. The desperate store assistant, the impoverished book stealer and the ambassador's lonely son. It is about the terrified refugee, unrepentant criminals and a respected Guard, even the future queen. These are there stories. This is their struggle to make the best of their lives in the most difficult of times.

Cover ideas, etc: A willow tree? Maps? Its fairly dark, but ultimately hopeful.

Here you go!

Hope the symbol works!

Thanks :D

I hope you like it!

Though I do have one favor to ask...can you redo the spelling so it's "The Crucible" and not "The Cruciable"? It seems an extra "a" snuck in there somehow! If you're feeling extra generous, could you send it in a larger version as well?

I hope that this works! It's not what you asked for exactly.

The four different designs are all the same image with different colors. I'll post one and the links for the others.

This isn't exactly what you wanted, but I hope it works:

Hope this works. It's a little different than what you wanted, but... well. you can ask me to edit or redo it if you want.

Hope this works! If it's too... I don't know. Different than what you wanted? I can redo it. I just had the maze idea out of nowhere.

You might have to make the Draco image smaller to make room, but I'm okay with that.

It's been three rounds since I first asked for a fix for my cover and this round, when I asked again, you did everyone else's but mine. I love it, I really do, I just can't use it until the typo in my title is fixed, nor can I do much with it until I get a larger file size. Sorry I'm being a bit of a downer on all the excitement, I don't want to be, but I'm sure you understand where I'm coming from.

Title : Third Tree on the Left
Author/Pen name: Andrey Kostadinovic
Summary: When a car crash almost claims his life and puts his brother in coma, an urban family man leaves to countryside, hoping to find some peace and solitude in an old family house that was deserted decades ago. He finds the house pillaged and ruined by other villagers, natural disasters and passage of time. After spending a night in the country, he wakes up to find a bizzare structure appeared out of nowhere on the nearby hill. Made from dark, scourched material and seemingly alive, the tower looms ominously over the landscape reflecting the man's tormented soul. During the next two days, he confronts an old man who once owned the house, meets a local hunter searching for a strange wild boar, befriends an optimistic teenager with Down syndrome, and finally enters the dark tower to find his family history and personal downfall embedded into its walls.
Mood/Theme/Etc. : Grim and surreal, with lots of dark humor
Colors: Either black and white, sepia, or maybe even some psychedelic combination... It's completely up to you :)
Ideas/Pictures you want: Obviously, the dark tower is the central theme, with rural decay on one side, mental decay on the other. I'd be happy to see whatever comes in mind. Have fun!

Re: Against my better judgment... covers

I'm sorry about your wrist!

Title : Beyond

Author/Pen name: Kayla Rain

Summary:
It is not a time of peace on the planet of Celestieal. A war is brewing - The kings have reached their breaking point, and one of them, spurred on by his ambitious friend, threatens battle. In a place where average people are blessed with not-so-average abilities, the results could be catastrophic - and have in recent times. The population of Celestieal is falling. The people are starving. And the kings, so wrapped up with their own worries, notice little of the suffering going on.

Cordelia, the neighboring planet, is home to Jaycee Everett, whose only dreams in life is to live to adulthood. She has no interest in any of the worlds bordering her own - and she especially does not care for the group of teenagers demanding her help with the war. But when a drunken altercation proves that Cordelia is more affected by Celestieal then she'd previously thought, she reluctantly agrees to come with them, hoping to finally end the violence - unawares that her good intentions are only landing her right into a trap.

Mood/Theme/Etc. : Fantasy, magical, dark, suspenseful. The central plot focuses heavily on a fabled, golden sword. Plays a lot with "not everything is as it seems" sort of thing.

Colors: Anything you think would work.

Ideas/Pictures you want: If you add a picture of Jaycee (MC) in it, she has blonde hair and green eyes. I don't really have any ideas.
