Too much rebelling?

Hey, guys. Question:

I started a memoir and got a few thousand out of that, but never counted it. Fine. Then I started a new project cuz I wanted to do NaNo "fairly". Okay. I dropped that (and reset my word count) because I was too interested in my NaNo from last year. I'm stuck at 30K cuz random stuff keeps zapping my writing groove.

Should I count all the projects together since I already rebelled?

Did you read Brandon's Pep Talk?

I suggest that you read through it . . . and then decide what you want to do with the time left this month . . . and with regards to counting this, that and the other.

The important thing is YOU . . . what has this experience done for you so far . . . and what will be the end result?

IMHO

Yeah, a few hours ago, I figured I should just look through my draft and just go it. I started ultra late, so there's no way I could finish the whole thing in the 12 days I had left. Kinda sucks, but I want to get through the draft, and I just can't do that in 12 days. Oh well. Maybe something better will happen in camp.

Re: Too much rebelling?

So can you set a new goal for yourself?

Here is an idea that popped into my head:

You have been writing SOMETHING since NaNo started . . . right?

How about for every K you write over the next few days, you give yourself credit for a K of your earlier work on the other things.

That would cut the amount that you have to write between now and the end of NaNo in half . . . and give you a push to keep going . . . to keep working toward that 50K

Let that number be your goal . . . with the promise that you will keep going until this draft is finished.

So two goals: finish NaNo with 50K and write every day in the spirit of NaNo til your draft is finished.

How long do you think it will be . . . word count wise?

In order for that to work, I'd have to write about 10k's worth of "notes" for my current project. It'd be random scenes I have in mind for the trilogy overall. Course, with your logic, I could start the project I was planning on starting in December. Hmm...

I think I'll start the "Notes" thing, add the WC from my first project this month and leave the memoir out of it entirely.
