2011 NANO CD SWAP

It’s that time of year again.

I’m LaMishia (thelonephotographer) an M.L. from Virginia and I’m seizing the reigns of CD SWAP again this year. So let’s get it started.

WHAT’S NEW! … THE CD SWAP BLACK LIST
That’s right ladies and gentleman. We’ve been doing this for a while now and EVERYONE should know by now, if you sign up and don’t send your CD’s, you WILL be reported and this year officially BLACKLISTED from swap.


THIS WILL BE YOUR ONLY WARNING- If you don’t have the TIME to burn 3 cd’s or the MONEY to mail them out, PLEASE DON’T SIGN UP TO DO THIS.

If you didn’t receive a CD from a swap mate last year, send the name and info of that individual to me at nanocdswap@yahoo.com with BLACK LIST in the subject line. Those who sign up this year will be checked against the black list before being paired with a new group.

NOW THAT WE’VE GOTTEN THAT OUT OF THE WAY…ON TO THE FUN PART

Here's how CD Swap works:
After the sign up period, you will be put in a group with three other Swap Buddies. You will then receive an e-mail from me telling you the names and addresses of the people in your group. You burn 3 identical music CDs and mail them to your swap mates. In return, you should then receive three CDs from the other three people in your group. SIMPLE RIGHT?

SEE BELOW FOR DEFINITION OF THE ABOVE

CD Type:DATA (capability of holding 100+ songs that you then download on to your computer) OR MUSIC ( holds @ 18 songs and playable in most cd players)

Mailing Preference: North America Only (U.S. & Canada) OR All (this includes international countries)

Number of Groups: One swap group OR Two swap groups (be aware that if you have two swap groups that means you’ll be sending out 6 cds) if you don’t specify you will be placed in one group.

NOTE: Please be sure to put your Nano Nickname & e-mail on the CD you mail to your swap buddy. People got several CD’s last year and didn’t have a clue who had sent them. So please put some kind of identifier so that we can make sure everyone received a CD from everyone they were supposed to! Besides the music you include on your CD might be so freaking fabulous that your Swap Buddy may be compelled to thank you personally! And who’d want to miss that? All I’m saying is...LABEL THE CD & INCLUDE A TRACK LIST

DEADLINES TO KNOW:
Sign-ups will be open until Thursday, November 3rd. By the end of that week, you should have received an email to let you know who your swap buddies are going to be.
All of your CDs should be burned and in the mail NO LATER THAN Friday, November 11th. This gives everyone a chance to receive their CD filled with Musical Wonderment and enjoy it through their own Nano Writing Adventures.

I have a question (and yes, I've been waiting for you to put up this thread just so I could ask it)-

I'd like to do two groups this year, one international and one North America only. Any special way I should send that to you?

So much excitement! Thanks so much, LaMishia, for yet again undertaking this enormous task. I know that I'd be lost if I had to face NaNo without the long-awaited CD swap.

This was so much fun last year XD I dont' know if I'll be able to do it again this year or not though, I have to check my stash of empty CD's to see if I have any left ^^'

So awesome! My flatmate did this a few years back and it was really quite cool. So now that I've got myself some burnable CDs and a job to pay the postage I'm going to do the same :D

I'm trying to talk my mother into letting me do this, but if I can't, can i e-mail a list of songs instead of mailing CD's? Because I'd really like to participate. If not, I understand.

I really hope I can do this. It sounded like such an awesome idea last year that I've actually been looking forward to it. I'll let you know within a few weeks if I'm able to do it..I really hope I am...lol. Lots of fun just waiting to happen.
