Windows Journal

If you want a break from typing, but don't want to type up handwritten notes, Windows Journal could be useful.
It can be used with a graphics tablet, and when you're finished (it's like writing in a notebook), just select your work and Actions -> Convert Handwriting to Text.
It's surprisingly accurate, but you might have to teach it some handwriting first with 'Personalize Handwriting Recognition'.
Both of these can be found via the search bar in the start menu. I don't know about all types of Windows, but this works on Windows 7.
I hope this is at all useful. :)
