Catching up on sleep and hockey. I'm baking cookies for the TGIO, and putting up Christmas decorations. Oh, and there's that whole studying for finals thing.
My next three weekends are taken up singing in concerts with two different choirs. One of these weekends is going to involve a road trip with one of the choirs!
Hence why I really couldn't take NaNoWriMo too seriously this year. I might dig out last years NaNo, and give it the once over. Or strip it back down to the outline and start over!
I'm already in the weekend and I'm having NaNo withdrawals. I don't know what to do. Put it this way: I'm cleaning my room. Voluntariliy. I think someone might need to call the doctor.
The day after NaNo ended I dyed my hair back to its natural color (I'd forgotten how beautiful it can be) then took a long, drawn-out warm shower with all the creams and lotions and exfoliants and moisturizers and fancy shampoos I had at home. Today, I took an enormous, five-hour nap, cleaned up my kitchen, bathroom and living-room, and tomorrow I hope to clean up my bedroom and wardrobe (the wardrobe is the really boring part and that's why I keep postponing it!).
Unfortunately, I still have several finals for college coming up, so full-on relaxation is not an alternative. Still, I hope to take it easy this weekend, reading for my academic research, writing a couple of essays, reading for leisure, eating out with my family. I also have to go shopping for earrings and a new wallet, mine was barely keeping itself together and has finally disintegrated on my poor hands.
When my finals are all over, that's when I'll celebrate fully, with Christmas and swimming and walks and drawing and hugging my cat ^.^
I'll be decorating for Christmas, finishing my novel, working on a friend's Christmas present, editing my summer novel so I can publish it sometime either this year or early next year, and working on the summer novel's sequel. Possibly working out details for the graphic novel I plan on writing the script for in April...
I'll be working Saturday, since I'm in training now, and Sunday I have slated to make doll clothing for my niece's Christmas present for her American Girl doll. I finally have a doll (it's an Our Generation doll, so it wasn't as expensive thank goodness) to tailor things to, so I have to get busy making patterns and stuff.
I also need to write a Christmas fic for an LJ group, but it's already growing in my head. As soon as it's fully formed it won't take long for me to plod it out. :3
What will I be doing? Writing. I promised myself I would continue writing at my previous pace until my novel is finished. Then, and only then, will I take a nice break from it before editing.
But I'll be having some fun this weekend too. Tonight was spent with my baby niece who is the most adorable thing in the world and tomorrow I'm going to a Christmas parade thing with my mom and aunt. Sleeping a long time tonight was going to be on the schedule, but it's almost 2am and I have to get up earlyish (early for me) tomorrow.
Studying. Researching. Writing term papers. Nursing my elderly, ailing dog. Same stuff which has been occupying my attention all month, hence my pathetic wordcount. (I wrote plenty, but not much of it was fiction, unless you count my 12-page history fanfic featuring Odysseus, Socrates, and the eurozone financial meltdown. Which was a school assignment, and therefore doesn't really count.)
Possibly going to my region's TGIO party if I have time.
Life will be more fun when school is over. I have soooo many plans to start in about three weeks. But until then... a little more drudgery.
I slept 12 hours last night (Fri-Sat)! I was in bed by 9pm (which also helped with the heating bill!).
Today, after 3 days not writing, I'm going to get back in the saddle & continue with my NaNo novel - I won, but I reckon I have about another 30K to write till I'm finished. I'm also reviewing someone else's NaNo novel for feedback & I'm looking forward to starting to read that. Practical things like shopping & getting petrol & cleaning rear their heads on Saturdays, First Non NaNo Weekend or not! lol!
Tomorrow, I'm at church in the evening & we're singing my favourite 6 part anthem, 'This is the record of John', & I'm singing 1st Alto by myself, which is always a challenge. :-) Then, next week, it's the 2nd week of my school experience volunteering so I can apply for teacher training & I've already started looking at the application forms - scary or what?!
Day -2: The First Non-NaNo Weekend
I had a nap. What will you be doing?
Re: Day -2: The First Non-NaNo Weekend
Christmas shopping...all though I am finding that difficult too. Can I go back to the other world?

Re: Day -2: The First Non-NaNo Weekend
I'm jumping straight into my self-editing mode and pulling my novel to pieces... Writers never sleep, my friend...
Also, in February, I'm going to finish my cover and send it all to a publisher... Yay!
Re: Day -2: The First Non-NaNo Weekend

Re: Day -2: The First Non-NaNo Weekend
I hear ya, Ashiibrook. Suddenly I have responsibilities and no NaNoWriMo adrenaline to keep me productive. Sigh...
Re: Day -2: The First Non-NaNo Weekend
Same, same! My room hasn't been this clean in ages!
Re: Day -2: The First Non-NaNo Weekend
I'm going to be staring at my ceiling, thinking to myself, "I actually don't have anything to do...."
(Don't remind me of editing... ewww).
Re: Day -2: The First Non-NaNo Weekend
Wait.... weekends? We have those free? Knowing me I'll be drawing and wasting time with video games.

Editing! Of course!
Re: Day -2: The First Non-NaNo Weekend
Heading to the UK for my mother's 70th birthday - and taking my laptop so I can write on the plane. Maybe. I've never actually tried it before...
Re: Day -2: The First Non-NaNo Weekend
I'm sleeping and preforming in the school's one act plays. Then I'll sleep some more. And finish my novel. And edit. Lots of editing.

Re: Day -2: The First Non-NaNo Weekend
Started my new job. Gosh, wasn't it clever of me to put of being hired until December?

I'm going to.... Go to work. Only this time, I won't insist on bringing a laptop or notebook with me so I can write in between serving customers. :P
If I had a nickel for every time a customer or co-worker asked me what homework I was working on.... I'd by another NaNo t-shirt. :)
