Writer, Professional, Good - Whatever

So I noticed that a lot of Writers actually feel odd about calling themselves as such, without actually having something published. Or even then.

And when it is not the Writers themselves, it is the people around you who all have different criteria for what makes a person a Writer and what not.

So for you all, I have this link to a blog from John Scalzi, who explains what he thinks about the subject. I totally agree with him.

I absolutely loved this article and agree with everything in it. Especially the meaning for 'Writer,' since that one tends to have a ridiculously varied meaning for different people. Thanks for sharing!

I like that. Although for the sake of those who don't read it. Instead of calling myself a writer, I just say "I love to write."
I haven't published anything, I'm not trying to publish. Never entered writing contests, don't really show my work to people. I just love writing, especially when I feel like it. Although others probably won't share that view, saying "I love to write." discourages a lot of weird questions concerning publishing, contests, and time management things.
