Meow have finally gotten back to me so we have our first event booked! Meow is down a little alleyway across the road from Manners McDonalds (see the map link at the bottom of this post). It's a great place with lots of good drinks and free range and gluten free option food. Super friendly too.
We are booked in for lots of people, but we havent got an exclusive booking, so there will be non Nanoers there and if you feel a bit nervous you can hang back if you want to. But we are all super friendly and non-threatening and have most of our shots, so I hope you'll say hello.
The place closes at four but many regulars like to keep going and will migrate to Joe's Garage on Tory Street near Te Papa afterwards to continue writing related malarkey.
So clear your diary and I can't wait to see you there. And tell everyone else to as well.
Can't wait! Am likely to get lost though, so if anyone spots me revolving slowly outside Manners McDonalds looking confused at 12pm, please help! (The first time I tried to get to Joe's I went up the wrong end of Tory Street. FAIL)
Wooo! Awesome! I can't wait to meet all you Welly NaNo'ers after migrating like a coconut-laden swallow from Christchurch :D Me and my Pink-Haired Fiancee will meet you all there! (If you get lost, start following the cutesy couple with pink hair. At least she does)
Hi there. I only signed up yesterday and saw the msg about the kick-off party. I knew it was a long-shot that I could make it, and it turned out I had two kids in tow and things to do, so nup.
Perhaps another time.
Excited to see that there are so many Wellington writers doing NaNo. I've heard all about it from people on the writers forum I subscribe to, but it's somehow more real having real, live Wellingtonians doing it and not just online friends from around the world.
Kick off Party 12pm Sunday 30th October at Meow!

I shall wander out at 12:10 to Manners and wave a large purple flag with a dolphin on it about to attract attention.
Re: Kick off Party 12pm Sunday 30th October at Meow!
Excellent! Even I probably can't miss the sight of a purple dolphin flag.

Unless it is a cold day, then I'll be wearing my Hello Kitty hat and I'll probably demand that you wear your monkey hat!
